<strong>Ottawa</strong> Executives’ <strong>Association</strong><br />
<strong>OXA</strong> is an organization of business people with a sole<br />
purpose to provide each other with business leads,<br />
referrals and direct business. Over the years, some<br />
65–95 businesses have been represented in <strong>OXA</strong> at<br />
any given time. Many <strong>OXA</strong> members have been part of<br />
the organization for more than 25 years, providing a<br />
strong foundation of members, with new members<br />
joining annually from a variety of different industries.<br />
<strong>OXA</strong> is the <strong>Ottawa</strong> Executives’ <strong>Association</strong>. <strong>OXA</strong> is not<br />
a service club or charitable organization. This unique<br />
business organization was founded in <strong>Ottawa</strong> in 1936.<br />
We are also Founding Members of the International<br />
Executives <strong>Association</strong>, which is comprised of over<br />
110 Executives <strong>Association</strong>s around the world.<br />

Supporting one another through leads and business<br />
referrals is key to the success of the <strong>Ottawa</strong><br />
Executives’ <strong>Association</strong>. We encourage our members<br />
to pass this roster to colleagues & family members.<br />

1. Attend <strong>Association</strong> meetings, on site and other events on a<br />
regular basis, and refrain from membership or meaningful<br />
participation in any other organization having the same or<br />
similar mission.<br />
2. Maintain a positive and constructive attitude towards fellow<br />
members and the <strong>Association</strong> itself, and to the extent<br />
practicable, keep the focus on business.<br />
3. Become familiar with fellow members, their products<br />
and services.<br />
4. Generate referrals and leads as often as possible to as many<br />
members as possible.<br />
5. Provide fellow members with an opportunity to quote<br />
on the provision of goods or services wherever and<br />
whenever possible.<br />
6. Act promptly on all referrals, leads and opportunities to<br />
provide goods or services to fellow members, and publicly<br />
acknowledge each such occurrence whenever possible.<br />
7. Respect the classification of other members, taking care in<br />
particular to not promote amongst the membership products<br />
or services of another member’s classification, nor invite as<br />
guests to <strong>Association</strong> functions, parties that compete with<br />
fellow members.<br />
8. Conduct a classification talk (“Craft Talk”) or host an on site<br />
at least once in every 24 months period.<br />
9. Refrain from soliciting or promoting to members on<br />
behalf of charitable, benevolent or political organizations<br />
or endeavours.<br />
10. Pay annual dues, monthly fees and other <strong>Association</strong> charges<br />
and assessments in a timely manner.<br />
