– During the last few years, Aker Solutions
has further strengthened its position as a
key partner in the development of the
Ekofisk area in the North Sea.
Norway for modification contracts on their
installations in the Greater Ekofisk Area of
the North Sea. The scope of the agreement
was not defined; however, the frame
agreement opened up for activities ranging
from pre-studies to complete total contracts
(Engineering, Procurement, Construction,
and Installation).
On 17 March 2010, ConocoPhillips awarded
Aker Solutions an EPC contract for platform
jacket and a bridge support jacket for the
new Ekofisk accommodation platform -
Ekofisk 2/4L. The contract will be executed
by the Aker Solutions yard in Verdal, and
includes engineering, procurement,
construction, load-out and sea-fastening of
the steel jacket, bridge support jacket and
associated piles.
Also in 2010, ConocoPhillips conditionally
awarded a contract for engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) of the
topside module for the Ekofisk 2/4 Z

platform to Aker Solutions. The contract
award is subject to project approval by the
PL018 license group, and Norwegian
authorities' approval of the plan for
development and operation (PDO). The
PL018 approval is planned for the first
quarter 2011 and PDO approval in the
second quarter of 2011.

first stages in the Ekofisk development more
than 40 years ago, and we aim to continue
playing a key part in the future of the area –
which may well produce for another 40 years
and more.
