The following roads were maintained :—<br />

Larnaca-Limassol Road via Zygi.<br />
Larnaca-Kophinou Road.<br />
Limassol-Paphos Road (to Episcopi).<br />
Famagusta, Tricomo-Rizo Carpas Road.<br />
Also a number of minor roads not mentioned, making up a total of about<br />
250 miles repaired, gradients improved and heavier portions metalled.<br />
The Lapithos-Nicosia Bridle Track was greatly improved at a cost of £60.<br />
This track would appear to have crossed the mountains by way of the pass above<br />
SiskUpos and to have proceeded through the villages of Plaesia and Photta.<br />
The Evrychou-Troodos bridle path was also repaired.<br />
The map No. IV. shows the condition of the road system at Slst March,<br />
1890, and has been prepared from the Blue-Book report.<br />
It would appear that at this time there were the following Roads under<br />
maintenance, namely :—<br />

This rate works out at a little over £4 0 0 per mile. In can hardly be<br />
reasonable to suppose that the maintenance was carried out on anything like<br />
systematic lines at this figure.<br />
