Specialist on the Space Shuttle Program with Lockheed Space Operations Company. Holding the title of Computer Science Lead, he now oversees the NASA Image Analysis Facility, Kennedy's Advanced Visualization Environments Lab and a Motion Capture Studio supporting the design of the Orion space capsule. He obtained the NASA UNIX System Administration Certification and has earned the NASA Space Flight Honoree Award, Space Flight Team Award, and the coveted Silver Snoopy Award. Brad has received three NASA Director Awards for dedication and innovation and the Technical Achievement Award in 2004 from United Space Alliance. Matt Adcock Candidate for Director at Large My first experience with ACM SIGGRAPH, twelve years ago, was as a student volunteer on a SIGGRAPH Pioneers’ scholarship. I was drawn to the strong tradition of technical and artistic achievements and excited by the excellence on display. Since then I have contributed to many facets of the organisation, including the establishment and success of SIGGRAPH Asia and its precursor, GRAPHITE. As the computer graphics community continues to broaden, both geographically and technically, our organisation must grow and adapt or risk shedding its relevance. We must continue to build the exceptional quality of the annual conferences, while maintaining financial vigilance and transparency. We can better educate new arrivals about the benefits of SIGGRAPH membership. We must implement low-risk ways to embrace emerging sub-fields (we should respond when a new Course or BOF is overflowing). As a director of the executive committee I will support and enact strategies that: make greater use of siggraph.org to showcase unique Chapter events (learning from TEDx); address the fragmentation between Small Conferences, External Liaison, International Resources, Chapters, and Communications; re-energise our tradition of celebrating Interactive Techniques; and help members achieve wider exposure for their work, including through social media and by association with the SIGGRAPH brand.
