Heart Saver AED<br />

Learn CPR for infants, children and adults and effective use<br />

of the automated external defibrillator (AED) to shock the<br />

death-producing abnormal heart rhythm of ventricular<br />

fibrillation (VF). AEDs can be used successfully by minimally<br />

trained emergency personnel, lay responders and family<br />

members or co-workers of people at high risk for sudden<br />

cardiac death. $60 includes $15 fee.<br />

Students who are involved in clinical placement (Licensed<br />

Nurse Refresher and Medicine Aide students) are<br />

required to complete a criminal background check. Final<br />

acceptance in the program shall be contingent upon<br />

satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.<br />

A separate criminal background check may be required<br />

by a clinical site prior to placement. If a student is denied<br />

from a clinical site, due to a background check result, the<br />

student shall be dismissed from the program and his/her<br />

registration withdrawn from courses related to the program.<br />

Students may be automatically dismissed from the<br />

program if they have not been truthful or have provided<br />
