Heart Saver AED
Learn CPR for infants, children and adults and effective use
of the automated external defibrillator (AED) to shock the
death-producing abnormal heart rhythm of ventricular
fibrillation (VF). AEDs can be used successfully by minimally
trained emergency personnel, lay responders and family
members or co-workers of people at high risk for sudden
cardiac death. $60 includes $15 fee.

Students who are involved in clinical placement (Licensed
Nurse Refresher and Medicine Aide students) are
required to complete a criminal background check. Final
acceptance in the program shall be contingent upon
satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
A separate criminal background check may be required
by a clinical site prior to placement. If a student is denied
from a clinical site, due to a background check result, the
student shall be dismissed from the program and his/her
registration withdrawn from courses related to the program.
Students may be automatically dismissed from the
program if they have not been truthful or have provided
inaccurate information in the application. For more information

Licensed Nurse refresher: part 1 — theory
Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses with an active
or inactive Maryland nursing license planning to re-enter
the nursing field, update their knowledge. Review medicalsurgical
nursing topics including anatomy, physiology, major
disease pathology, current treatment strategies and legal
issues. Study pharmacology, physical assessment, nursing
process, documentation and current patient care trends.
