Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, Loveland, OH<br />
On the 30th of May, veterans from American<br />
Legion Post 256 and the <strong>Chosin</strong> <strong>Reservoir</strong> Det.<br />
Memorial Team, MCL, proudly marched in the<br />
Loveland Memorial Day Parade. Memorial Team<br />
NCOIC Tim Plurien called cadence while carrying<br />
the National Colors, Bob Collier carried the Marine<br />
Corps Colors, and Paul Plominski and Walter<br />
Golladay anchored the flanks as riflemen.<br />

The 175th Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the <strong>Chosin</strong> <strong>Reservoir</strong> <strong>Detachment</strong> was held on 15 June 2011,<br />

Commandant’s Message / Comments:<br />
Commandant Tonkin opened the meeting and welcomed the<br />
group of Marines in attendance that evening.<br />

#1 A Roll Call of Officers revealed all were present with<br />
the exception of Jr. Vice Commandant Steve Griffith,<br />

#3 The Meeting Minutes from the previous meeting<br />
were acknowledged to be correct, and approved as written.<br />

#8 c) The Role of the Warren County Veterans<br />
Service Commission (WCVSC) - The Role of the Veterans<br />
Service Commission is to oversee the operation of the<br />
Veterans' Office; to provide temporary financial assistance to<br />
veterans, spouses, dependent children and surviving spouses;<br />
and to assist veterans in obtaining earned benefits from<br />
federal, state, and local levels of government. The Office<br />
Director is authorized to disburse up to $1,000 per person<br />
per visit.<br />

participate in the Loveland 4th of July Parade. However, if<br />
someone shoots photographs, I will gladly produce a<br />
photographic article for the newsletter. If anyone attends<br />
any other military or patriotic event and takes photographs,<br />
send them to me and a photographic article can be prepared.<br />
#8 e) Since our last meeting no Casket Guard details were<br />
performed by the unit. Eight EGAs remain in our inventory.<br />

# 8 f) Discussed the creation of a Facebook page. The only<br />
information available will be whatever is required for me to<br />
set up the page. Page will include a contact form similar to<br />
the one on the Officer’s page. Users will be able to post to<br />
the facebook page. Purpose is to have a presence on<br />
Facebook similar to other Marine Corps League detachments.<br />

Memorial Team NCOIC’s Message / Comments:<br />
#8 g) Loveland 4 July Parade details. The <strong>Detachment</strong><br />
will lead the parade. The parade starts at 1900 and will go<br />
from the elementary school all the way through downtown<br />
Loveland. We will meet at the parking lot by the train station<br />
at 1815 and I will drive us all over to the start point. I will<br />
need volunteers so anybody that is will please come forward<br />
and I will add you to the roster.<br />
Tim will send email seeking volunteers. John will follow<br />
up.<br />

Medals underneath) and the Red <strong>Chosin</strong> <strong>Reservoir</strong><br />
<strong>Detachment</strong> Jacket. Effective 7 November, the Winter<br />
uniform will be the norm.<br />

Veterans’ Memorial Day Ceremony<br />
Loveland American Legion Post 256 Color Guard and<br />
Firing Squad Present Colors for the playing of our<br />
National Anthem and Taps. Post 256 Honor Guard.<br />
Standing (l-to-r) are Tom Vormwald (1st Vice<br />
Commander), Larry Braley (Service Officer), Ryan Lindsey<br />
(Legionnaire), Gerry Lindsey (Judge Advocate), Butch<br />
