Easytronic ® . Choose the optional
Easytronic ® transmission (available on
1.6 TWINPORT ECOTEC ® ) and you’ll get
a 5-speed manual and automatic shifting
gearbox all rolled into one. In automatic
shifting mode it has all the main features
of a regular automatic, including the
kickdown function. In manual, you simply
push the lever forward or back to shift
gears up or down. There’s no clutch pedal;
you just nudge the lever left to switch
modes on the move. The facia display
tells you which gear you’re in.

Opel Meriva ecoFLEX. With CO 2 emissions of only 134 g/km and a combined
comsumption of 5.0 l/100 km, the Opel Meriva ecoFLEX with the 1.3 CDTI engine is
the most environmentally friendly and economical way to enjoy the Opel Meriva.
Engine range. Opel Meriva’s engines pack plenty of punch, matched with low fuel
consumption and two-year service intervals. There’s a choice between three petrol

All figures quoted relate to the EU base model with standard equipment. The fuel consumption calculation based on guideline 1999/100/EC takes into consideration vehicle weight when
empty as specified by the guideline. Additional equipment may lead to slightly higher results than the stated consumption and CO2 figures. In addition, it may increase the weight of the
vehicle when empty and in some cases the permissible axle weights as well as the permissible total weight of the vehicle and reduce the permissible towing weights. This may lead to
a reduction in top speed and increased acceleration time. The driving performance figures shown are attainable when the vehicle is empty (without driver) plus a load of 200 kilograms.
The 1.3 CDTI engine with common rail injection, four-valve technology, swirl control
and Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) produces 55 kW (75 hp). For more diesel power there
are also two variants of the 1.7 CDTI engine available. The first delivers 74 kW (100 hp)
and is offered with 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.7 CDTI with 92 kW (125 hp)
tops the diesel range and also comes with 6-speed transmission and DPF.
The petrol engine range starts with the 1.4 ECOTEC ® with 66 kW (90 hp), followed by the
1.6 ECOTEC ® with 77 kW (105 hp). Both engines feature Opel’s unique TWINPORT
technology, providing clear consumption and emission benefits. The top of the range
OPC model has a 1.6 Turbo petrol engine with 132 kW (180 hp), accelerating from
0 to 100 km/h in just 8.2 seconds. All engines are ECOTEC ® units, designed for good
flexibility and emissions control.

Engines and Transmissions

Safety for the whole family.
No matter where you’re going, day or night, it’s good to know that, in your Opel Meriva,
you’re in very safe hands.
You don’t have to have your family with you to appreciate Opel Meriva’s many safety
features. Every model comes with the comprehensive level of active and passive safety
you would expect from Opel – including many features you would usually only find
on bigger cars.
ISOFIX child seat restraint system. Every Opel Meriva is fitted with ISOFIX child seat
restraint fittings on both outer rear seats (or with front passenger seat fittings available
with automatic occupancy detection to deactivate the airbag). Used in conjunction
with Opel accessory child safety seats, the rigid ISOFIX anchoring mechanism virtually
eliminates the dangers that can result from incorrect child seat installation. The Opel
ISOFIX child seats simply click into the mounting points engineered into the car.
Security. Opel Meriva security features include an engine deadlock immobiliser,
remote control central deadlocking and a visible vehicle identification number.
DSA safety chassis. Opel Meriva features DSA safety chassis with high dynamic
reserves. When braking, the tendency to roll is corrected by the wheel with greater
adhesive friction on the front axle toeing-in more strongly, while toe-in on the rear
axle is reduced.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Standard on all models, the Anti-lock Braking System
(ABS) has been shown to help reduce stopping distances, particularly on slippery road
surfaces. By preventing the wheels from locking up, ABS also allows drivers to retain
control of the steering and helps prevent vehicle instability during emergency braking.
Pedal Release System (PRS). In a major frontal impact, Opel Meriva’s clutch pedal and
light weight brake pedal are designed to come away from their mountings, helping
reduce foot and lower leg injuries.
Hill Start Assist (HSA). The HSA helps the driver when moving off on an incline by preventing
the vehicle accidentally rolling backwards, without the need to use the handbrake.

Tinted rear light clusters. Extra
safety with style. The pillar-mounted
rear light clusters increase visibility,
while integrating visually into the
smooth rear styling. Also the higher
mounting protects them against
incidental damage while parking.
ESP ® and TC. Electronic Stability
Program (ESP ® ) and Traction Control (TC)
help you maintain full control on slippery
surfaces or during emergency conditions.
If the car begins to slide, ESP ® gently applies
corrective braking to the appropriate
road wheel to help you regain control.
You probably won’t even notice, but it
could save your life. In addition, Traction
Control helps reduce wheel spin during
acceleration.
Halogen Adaptive Forward Lighting
(AFL). Opel Meriva is optionally equipped
with class-leading Adaptive Forward
Lighting that swivels into corners to light
up the direction you’re about to head in.
In addition, the Cornering Light function
uses an additional reflector to illuminate
a broad area 90 degrees to the direction
of travel at speeds below 40 km/h. This
makes it easier to see junctions, cyclists
and pedestrians at night.
Airbags. Every Opel Meriva features
driver’s and front passenger airbags
as standard. In addition, front seat side
impact airbags and full-size curtain
airbags can be specified as an option.
Front foglights. Powerful foglights
enable you to see clearly and arrive
safely, even in the most demanding of
weather conditions.

Driver’s Equipment
Door-to-door illumination & Welcome light. Press the unlock button twice on the
remote control key fob and the headlights, rear lights, licence plate light and interior
lights come on for 30 seconds, guiding you back to your car. When the door is opened
all instruments and controls are also illuminated. The lights extinguish automatically
when the ignition is switched on, or by pressing the unlocking button again.
Cruise control. Helps make motorways
and long journeys more pleasant,
improves fuel efficiency and reduces
the risk of unintentional speeding. It
can be overridden by applying the
accel erator, clutch or brake pedal.
Adjustable steering column.
The power steering column is height
adjustable for comfortable reach
and thus provides perfect driving
comfort and safety.
Height-adjustable driver’s seat.
The standard height-adjustable driver’s
seat helps you easily find the right
seating position in your Opel Meriva.
Air conditioning. Regulated by a variable
climatic compressor for improved
consistency and increased fuel economy.
Optional Electronic Climate Control (ECC)
maintains a constant interior temperature.

Travel Assistant. When the central rear
seat is folded flat, this multi-functional
Travel Assistant acts as an armrest and
also gives you up to 6 litres of stowage
space including a cool box and two popout
cup/bottle holders.

Illuminated glove box. Find stored
items instantly, even in the dark, thanks
to the glove box that lights up when
you open it.
Heated front seats. One push of
a button and in no time you can comfort
yourself in pleasantly warmed seats.
Just the right thing for cold winter days.
Seat back table. This fold-out tray
table has an integrated cupholder,
providing added convenience for rear
seat passengers.
Ashtray. Large ashtray – fits exactly
into the front or rear cupholders. The
convenient handling makes it a handy
accessory: it’s easy to remove and
easy to empty when necessary.
Fold-flat front passenger seat. This
option allows the front passenger seat
back to fold forward to accommodate
extra-long items.
Convenience Pack. The optional
Convenience Pack takes care of all your
additional storage needs, providing
extra stowage areas under the front passenger
seat and in the cargo area.

CDC 40 Opera. Specially developed for demanding music lovers. With graphical 7-band
equalizer and Digital Sound Processor for fine tuning of the acoustic pattern. Total
amplification power of 150 W and 8 premium speakers provide powerful, clear playback.
The integrated CD player with a capacity of 6 CDs with convenient single slot can
play back MP3. Steering wheel control and Graphic Info Display are standard.
CD 70 Navi. The CD 70 Navi has a CD drive for navigation and another CD drive for
playing back audio MP3. The standard monochrome Graphic Info Display allows for
guidance via symbols and/or voice. The double tuner concept provides optimum Traffic
Message Channel reception and therefore offers efficient dynamic navigation. Steering
wheel control, preselection for 4 x 10 stations, 4 x 20 W, 6 speakers and aux-in.
DVD 90 Navi. The supplied DVD-ROM contains the navigation and map software for
more than 20 European countries and a comprehensive travel guide. Colour Info Display,
guidance via map, symbols and/or voice. TMC messages, e.g. about traffic jams and
diversions, are automatically displayed and can be included in the route planning at
any time. The DVD 90 Navi also has a separate CD player with MP3 playback, provi ding
up to 10 hours of play time per CD. Media drive: CD and MP3 player, DVD-ROM (Navi).
Steering wheel control, preselection for 4 x 10 stations, 4 x 20 W, 6 speakers and aux-in.
Auxiliary input (aux-in). Allows to
connect all mobile devices with a headphone
output, e.g. MP3 player and iPod ® .
Twin Audio ® . Earhook-style stereo
headphones allow rear seat passengers
access to the vehicle’s audio system
while listening to a different radio or
CD programme to that selected by
front seat occupants.
Steering wheel controls. In addition to providing comfortable control, the steering
wheel can incorporate multifunction controls for the infotainment systems. The
radio, CD, MP3 player, phone, and navigation system can all be operated with no loss
of steering control. (Steering wheel controls are standard as of CDC 40 Opera.)

Navigation. Opel’s satellite navigation
systems have been widely acclaimed for
their ease of use and comprehensive levels
of information. CD- or DVD-ROM-driven
navigation systems provide up-to-date
information on road junctions etc. and
are featured either on Graphic Info Display
(GID) or Colour Info Display (CID). The
GID displays dynamic navigation (congestion
warning and automatic re-routing),
telephone and 20-destination memory
function. The CID displays the same
features as GID but additionally with
coloured map and/or arrow guide,
pictogram displays and split screen. DVD-
ROM is updated at regular intervals and
includes maps of more than 20 European
countries. For the CD-ROM system the
same information is held on multiple CDs.
On-board computer. Provides constant
data including fuel consumption,
check control information, distance to
empty and average speed.
