Apractical example:<br />

The task was to transport the logs downhill to the<br />

forest road:<br />

! Despite an average inclination of 45%<br />

! Despite wet conditions during forwarding and..<br />

! Despite a logging volume over 350m3 in the<br />

same drive-way (length 220m)<br />

The soil is not scarred at all and<br />

there is no deepened trace !!<br />

Uphill-transport of logs is normally possible up to<br />

35-40% of slope without scarring the soil.<br />

When reaching the road at the bottom, the driver<br />

switches off the power of the winch and drives the<br />

FORCAR to the discharge area. When backing up<br />

the cable is held taut by the automatic electronic<br />

control; no control needed by the driver. Reaching<br />

the bottom of the slope, the driver increases the<br />

power of the winch to the needed level and climb<br />

up the slope. Short slopes from over 60% may be<br />

overcome (uphill an downhill) without damaging<br />

neither road nor embankment.<br />

The winch provides over 50%<br />

of the required tractif power,<br />

synchronous with the wheels.<br />

Even in steepest conditions the FORCAR is<br />

keeping an even pace. Because the taut cable is<br />

acting like kind of a spring, evenly keeping its<br />

power but changing constantly in length. There is<br />

no slip or roll. The winch enables to overcome<br />

obstacles of up to a wheel’s height. The machine<br />

can be positioned within centimeters precision.All<br />

the operator has to do, is giving the command<br />

forwards or backwards, exactly as in flat terrain.All<br />

winch functions are controlled and provided by the<br />

electronic system.<br />
