Apractical example:
The task was to transport the logs downhill to the
forest road:
! Despite an average inclination of 45%
! Despite wet conditions during forwarding and..
! Despite a logging volume over 350m3 in the
same drive-way (length 220m)
The soil is not scarred at all and
there is no deepened trace !!
Uphill-transport of logs is normally possible up to
35-40% of slope without scarring the soil.
When reaching the road at the bottom, the driver
switches off the power of the winch and drives the
FORCAR to the discharge area. When backing up
the cable is held taut by the automatic electronic
control; no control needed by the driver. Reaching
the bottom of the slope, the driver increases the
power of the winch to the needed level and climb
up the slope. Short slopes from over 60% may be
overcome (uphill an downhill) without damaging
neither road nor embankment.
The winch provides over 50%
of the required tractif power,
synchronous with the wheels.
Even in steepest conditions the FORCAR is
keeping an even pace. Because the taut cable is
acting like kind of a spring, evenly keeping its
power but changing constantly in length. There is
no slip or roll. The winch enables to overcome
obstacles of up to a wheel’s height. The machine
can be positioned within centimeters precision.All
the operator has to do, is giving the command
forwards or backwards, exactly as in flat terrain.All
winch functions are controlled and provided by the
electronic system.
Thanks to the sophisticated
technique the operator’s stress
factor is considerably reduced.
