Card Applications

Induction/Competency Cards

Used for access control into sensitive areas,

for safety verification, site access, site

induction and many more applications.

These cards can employ RFID, or biometric

technology. Due to the high potential

risk, these cards provide the maximum

level of logical and visual security against

counterfeiting attempts.

Staff ID Cards

Employee identification cards range

from standard photo IDs to multi-use

cards for building access, network

login, time/attendance and payroll

systems. The PPC range offers a

full solution, including complete

protection against counterfeiting

by using the exclusive, low cost,

HoloKote® watermark technology

or a holographic laminate.

Student ID Cards

PPC is the printer of choice for many

and student identification cards are

Name Badges

Many retailers use name badges,

previously these were produced

using time consuming methods

and required doming to ensure

durability. Name badges can be

produced quickly and efficiently on

pre-cut, durable tags that can be

fastened to clothing by pin-clip or

magnets.

Card Access Systems

Access control systems permit

different levels of entry and

can monitor when people have

entered and exited facilities such

as buildings, secure rooms, car

parking and computer systems. PPC

printers fitted with the appropriate

encoder will write user data to a

card’s magnetic stripe or smart chip

at the time of printing.

Conference Badges

Exhibitions, conferences and

hospitality events need to badge

exhibitors, visitors, staff, press, and

VIPs. Plastic cards offer significant

advantages over paper-based

systems - they can be used to

track visitor traffic and attendance

and to give a more professional

appearance to the event. Compact

ID card printers, like the PPC

Trusted Security Features

Encoding options

Card encoding enables electronic

data to be written to the card as

it is being printed. PPC printers

support a wide range of integrated

card encoding options.

Magnetic stripe

All printers can be specified with ISO standard 7811 compatible HiCo encoding

of magnetic stripe cards. PPC’s dual coercivity HiCo/LoCo magnetic stripe

encoder offers encoding of all three tracks with total user format flexibility.

Smart card encoding

ISO7816 contact chip encoding in combination with contactless encoding such

as Mifare, DESFire and iClass can be specified autonomously or in combination

with a magnetic stripe encoder option. Other specialist encoding devices are

available on request with all professional series printers.


HoloKote® - Additional Security

HoloKote®

HoloKote® technology is a secure watermark that is frosted

onto the card surface during the normal print cycle using

standard consumable (dye film and cards).

The HoloKote® print process produces a watermark-like

layer that can be visually verified when the card is tilted in

the light. With all PPC direct-to-card printers, the user can

select from four standard secure HoloKote® designs using

the printer driver.

Edge-to-edge

Edge-to-edge full colour printing produces a

high quality 300dpi image right to the edge

of the card. Available on all PPC printers.

Duplex upgrade

Buy now choose later – the single-sided

models of the ID2300 and ID3300 are

field-upgradable to double-sided operation

by installing a simple drop-in upgrade kit.

ICC Profiles

An ICC profile standardises and controls

colour during the printing process. ICC

profiles ensure that colour attributes of the

source image are mapped accurately to the

printer. This process underpins the superior

printing and colour reproduction qualities

of both the ID2300 and ID3300.

Ethernet

Network connectivity enhances operational

efficiency, especially for large facilities

with multiple ID card printers such as

government, universities and corporate

campuses. Ethernet connectivity comes as

standard with the ID3300 and is available

as a drop-in field upgrade for the ID2300.

Printer locking

For additional on-site security the ID3300

is available with locking features. The input

and output hoppers and the lid can all be

secured by physical locks.

and custom needs. The simple operator interface is based on the Office 2007 tool-bar and gives you the ability to

manage an unlimited number of card layouts, each linked to an individual database. Some of the features available

• Database connection flexibility to suit your needs – from connecting to a simple MS Excel database on the local

computer to accessing database servers via Open Data Base Connectivity (ODBC) giving smooth integration of

incoming and outgoing data for any number of cardholders.

HID are some of the most popular access control proximity (prox) cards in the world. Traditionally available in the clamshell

format HID prox cards and HID access cards are now available in a wide range of options including, ISO (printable) card, Key Fobs,

Writs bands, etc.

Some organisations print adhesive stickers to put on their prox cards, while others use the ISO prox card option and print directly to

the cards or utilise blank unprinted cards for security reasons, whatever your need PPC has a full range of HID prox cards available

at short notice.

Typically the standard prox card operates at 125Khz frequency but we also have the newer smart card standard frequency of

13.54Mhz Cards such as the HID iclass card and Other HID variants such as the HID Mifare card etc.
