VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR’S corner NOW THAT SEPTEMBER is here, we are getting closer to the start of the maintenance project at the Village Marina. Please indulge me for a moment as I share a bit of information about that work as some of you may be affected. First, we anticipate that the work will begin either the week of September 17th or September 24th. The contractor needs to complete another project before they can begin their work here. We will be looking to get the Marina cleared out to make room for the contractor the week of September 10th. Letters will be sent to tenants requesting that they have their boats and trailers removed. For clarification, only those with land storage will need to get their property removed. If your boat or boat hoist are located in the water, you can leave them in place. In case you were not aware, the Village has an ordinance that limits the amount of time that boats, trailers and similar items can be parked at the home. Because of this project, we will waive those limitations until the project is completed. We anticipate that the contractor will be working in the Marina for about 3-4 weeks. During the period of construction, there should be access for those who need to get to their water based storage. If you go into the Marina, please be cautious if the contractors are working. On the weekends, the Marina should have no work being performed. If you are wondering what is taking place with this project, there is improved grading and new surface material coming into the Marina. Some of this will include an additional paved area. The vehicle parking will be better defined, as will the stalls and markings for boat and trailer storage. A sidewalk will be added along with another street light Home Care All is not the same. The beach area will also be cleaned up. Finally, the balance of the security camera system will also be completed. If you have any questions about this project, please let me know. I encourage you to attend the Village Birthday celebration you will find highlighted in other parts of the newsletter. This Village-wide event is scheduled for Saturday, September 8th. Music, fireworks and friends are some pretty good reasons to attend the event, but it is simply another one of those great reasons to live in Maple Bluff!
