RK&K’s <strong>Potter</strong> <strong>Is</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Chair</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>CMAA</strong><br />

J. Michael <strong>Potter</strong>, PE, CCM, a principal at RK&K in Baltimore, MD, was elected chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>CMAA</strong><br />

at the Association’s recently concluded National Conference & Trade Show in Chicago, Illinois.<br />

Mr. <strong>Potter</strong> is in charge <strong>of</strong> RK&K’s Construction Management and Inspection Division. He began<br />

his career as a structural engineer, and then joined a construction contractor where he served as project<br />

engineer and project manager in charge <strong>of</strong> major building projects.<br />

For the past 16 years he has represented public owners as an Agency CM on transportation,<br />

building and environmental projects.<br />

Mr. <strong>Potter</strong> earned his BSCE from Virginia Tech and his MBA from Loyola College <strong>of</strong> Maryland. In<br />

addition to his role at <strong>CMAA</strong> he sits on the board <strong>of</strong> the Maryland Association <strong>of</strong> Engineers and is the<br />

<strong>Chair</strong> <strong>of</strong> ACEC-MD Construction Services Committee.<br />

William Heitz, CCM, President <strong>of</strong> Heery International, Inc. was elected <strong>CMAA</strong> <strong>Chair</strong>-elect. He was<br />

previously the Association’s Vice <strong>Chair</strong>/Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Practice and a member <strong>of</strong> its Executive Committee.<br />

He is a graduate <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Tennessee with degrees in industrial management and architecture.<br />

He is a registered architect in Maryland and Georgia and a member <strong>of</strong> the American Institute <strong>of</strong><br />

Architects.<br />

<strong>CMAA</strong> also elected four new members to its Board <strong>of</strong> Directors: Stephen Ayers, FAIA, Architect<br />

<strong>of</strong> the U.S. Capitol; Mark Cacamis, PE, CCM, State Construction Engineer at Virginia DOT; Charles Dahill,<br />

Jr., President <strong>of</strong> the CM/PM Division at ARCADIS., and Kevin Donnelly, PE, Assistant Commissioner <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>New</strong> York City Department <strong>of</strong> Environmental Protection.<br />
