This amount represents the SIU’s half share of legal costs in respect of litigation that was<br />
instituted against the <strong>Unit</strong> <strong>and</strong> various other parties. The <strong>Unit</strong> accepted liability for half<br />
of the costs incurred by the defendants. This amount was paid shortly after the fi nancial<br />
year end.<br />

The above commitments are in respect of 32 rental agreements for periods ranging from<br />

7. TAXATION<br />
The <strong>Unit</strong> is not a registered vendor for VAT purposes as no taxable supplies are delivered.<br />
No provision for normal income tax is made as the <strong>Unit</strong> is a public enterprise <strong>and</strong> funded<br />
with government grants.<br />
