Generator Switchgear
Reliable and cost-efficient – in every way
Power Transmission and Distribution

Siemens –
Partner of the power plant sector
The growing energy demand calls for
more and fail-safe power from the
power plants – and the cost pressure
on the market demands a higher efficiency
in the provision of energy.
As a pioneer for vacuum switching technology,
Siemens has developed solutions
and technologies for the reliable transmission
and distribution of electrical
power from power plants to consumers
for more than 30 years. The resulting
comprehensive know-how is reflected in
our high-quality solutions and services.
Be it availability, cost-efficiency or safety:
As power plant builders or operators you
are confronted with maximum requirements
at all times. So, it is just reasonable
to expect the same from crucial components
such as the generator switchgear.
More safety and reliability – from Siemens
Therefore, generator switchgear from
Siemens offers maximum efficiency and
safety – on the whole as well as for every
single component, e.g. especially for the
centerpiece of the switchgear, the generator
vacuum circuit-breaker: To guarantee
availability and performance, high-current
and generator switchgear assemblies are
equipped with circuit-breakers that withstand
maximum stress.
With our generator switchgear you are always on the safe side.
Regardless of the switchgear type you decide for, you will obtain:

High reliability due to the intelligent and proven switchgear design
and the use of reliable components tested to the standards
High security of operation due to clear switching operations
High personal safety due to safety-oriented design of the switchgear

High cost-efficiency due to maintenance-free or low-maintenance components

Switchgear details that pay off:
Our high-current and generator switchgear
with the proven vacuum switching
technology from Siemens is designed to
withstand maximum normal currents,
featuring durable contact materials,
an optimized design in respect of cooling
as well as maximum mechanical
stability. The generator circuit-breaker
meets the severe requirements of the
generator circuit-breaker standard
IEEE C37.013, demonstrating its outstanding
qualities.
This increases the performance, reliability,
and cost-efficiency of the complete
generator switchgear.
More efficiency –
with powerful circuit-breakers

High mechanical stability
Low fire load due to omission
of solid insulation
Without forced cooling up to maximum
current ratings – thanks to the utilization
of natural convection
Ecological and, at the same time,
operationally safe vacuum switching
technology
Highly integrated
generator switchgear
With the highly integrated generator
switchgear, Siemens enables more functionality
on less space. For the first time,
the neutral treatment of the generator as
well as the auxiliary feeder are integrated
in a single generator switchgear. The
switchgear can be installed both indoors
and outdoors: close to the generator,
without expensive cabling.
All functions are therefore available out
of one hand – without time-consuming
coordination between different suppliers,
which offers considerable cost savings
due to ...
... lower expenditure for:
