Presenter Biographies Gene Aulinger (Orchestra) Gene Aulinger has held various music positions in the Battlefords and Kindersley school divisions over the past 30 years. He currently works with school and community bands in the Battlefords area. He has also taught at the Saskatchewan Summer School of the Arts for eight summers, coordinated the Summer Band Camp at North Battleford for five years, and adjudicated festivals and led workshops in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Louisiana. Augliner holds a Bachelor of Arts in performance and teaching credentials from the University of Wisconsin, as well as a Masters degree from Northwestern State University. Colette Bischoff (Classroom Music) Colette Bischoff has been a music educator for 30 years and has taught at Georges Vanier Fine Arts Catholic School in Saskatoon for 21 years. She has been involved in Orff-Schulwerk and the Orff executive in BC, and later became the founding President of the Saskatchewan Orff Chapter and continued her duties at the National level. She has worked to promote music education in Saskatchewan as a clinician, leader of STF Summer Short courses in Orff-Schulwerk and African Drumming, and sessional teaching at the University of Saskatchewan. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Regina, a Masters Level in Orff- Schulwerk from the University of Alberta, and a Masters in Education from the University of Saskatchewan. Kelly Demoline (Technology) Kelly Demoline is a music educator and President of Kelly’s Music & Computers. He has taught K-12 music in the Manitoba public school system along with music technology courses for Brandon University. He has published a number of articles on music technology in various traditional and on-line publications, including the Canadian Music Educator. Demoline has taught workshops and seminars for various organizations through- out North America and Europe and has helped teachers and students discover how technology can enhance musical learning. He holds a B.Mus/B.Ed (AD) from Brandon University where he was a trumpet major. After his graduation, he was appointed as the Music Technology Coordinator for Brandon University. Lorelie DeRoose (Music Festival) For over 20 years, Lorelie DeRoose has been involved in SEDA as a debater, volunteer judge, workshop facilitator, and for the past 8 years as Executive Director. She also serves on two national debate boards. Each year, at free in-class workshops, Lorelie shares the techniques of debate with hundreds of students and their teachers. Lorelie will present a wealth of practical speech and debate activities. Robert Grifa (Technology) Robert Grifa, SmartMusic Product Specialist, has 30 years of experience teaching middle and high school band. His groups have earned consistent Superior and Excellent ratings at performance evaluations. He earned music degrees from SUNY Fredonia and VanderCook College of Music. Grifa has had several articles published in The Instrumentalist regarding teaching percussion and has performed as a percussionist/drummer with various ensembles. Marlene Hinz (Classroom Music) Marlene Hinz has taught music and the arts to elementary school children for over 25 years. In November 2009, she received an outstanding achievement award from the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association. She is thoroughly enjoying accompanying Cantate this year, as well as singing and playing in a contemporary folk group at church. She recently founded UMOJA: One Heart – One Beat, a world drumming group for young performers. She is also thrilled to cofacilitate the Regina Community drum circle.
