Features Functions & Benefits
SEBILE is not just another brand. Our proprietary designs
have special features and unique benefits for anglers.
Designed for All Predator Species For the biggest to the
smallest, from top to bottom, anywhere you fish, there are
SEBILE lures to match the size and strength of the species
you plan to catch, to match your fishing gear, methods and the
conditions. Our catalog can help you to select the right lures
for your fishing needs.
Ultrasonic Body Welding All SEBILE lures
benefit from this, making them 20-30% stronger
than standard glued lures.
Full Wire Reinforced Lures of exceptional
strength for brutes that can destroy ordinary
lures. A doubled stainless wire, welded for
maximum strength, runs through these lures
from end to end, along with extra strong hooks
and split rings.
Salt & Sun Series For the most ferocious big
game species! The strongest hooks available,
super heavy duty split rings and reinforced
bodies are foam-filled so even hard, toothy bites
don’t faze these lures. New sizes for 2011 have
stainless steel plate internal construction that
defies destruction!
SEBILE Finishes Our premium Evidence
colors comes in a variety of patterns to suit any
species, conditions or environment. Possessed
and Blood Red colors have glitter or bloodcolored
fluid that moves inside causing motion
within that emits low-frequency sounds. Our Insight colors last
long even against the toothiest critters because finishes are
applied on the inside (and outside) before assembly.
Turbulence One of our trademark and most effective
methods to activate SEBILE lures is to design for water
turbulence that lets them mimic aquatic life, move naturally
and be sensed by fish due to these turbulences.
Multiple Lip Options The ACast Minnow, Koolie Minnow,
Crankster and Rattsler are available in multiple lips to function
at different depths and produce different actions within the
same lure style.
Innovative Edged Lips On Koolie Minnows, Crankster MR
and the ACast Minnow DR, the unique lip is edged out away
from the lure body.Benefits are longer, smoother casts, easier
retrieves, better feel, and deeper dives in long-lipped models.
Compressed Body Power The Magic Swimmer, ACast
Minnow and Rattsler push lots of water along the compressed,
tall sides of these lures, using turbulences that move
them in lifelike ways and are sensed by predators.
2
Power Keel A proprietary feature on the Stick Shadd, Bonga
Jerk and Splasher. It functions with turbulence to make a free
range of incredible movements possible with these lures.
Complex Body Shapes Innovative shapes never seen
before are the trademark of SEBILE lures like the Slim Stick,
Ghost Walker, Bonga Jerk, Splasher, Onduspoon, Slender
Eel, Proppler Buzz and more. They are quite different than the
common industry standard shapes because
they're designed to “speak” to the fish more
than to the angler.
Weight Transfer Long, accurate casts are
yours when using our Possessed and Blood
Red fluid-filled lures; the tail loads on the
cast to sail way out there, and the fluid
redistributes naturally on the retrieve.
Internal weight transfer using heavy metal
beads inside are features of the Koolie
Minnow BRL and LL 102, the ACast Minnow,
Crankster and Rattsler.
Snagless Designs Numerous facets of
SEBILE lures are designed to avoid snags.
The Flatt Shad Snagless exemplifies this.
The Koolie Minnow’s humpback, flattened
belly, roll, diving angle and buoyancy
function to deter snags. Every aspect of the
Crankster MR is designed to be surprisingly
snagless when used properly. The Magic
Swimmer Soft and Stick Shadd Hollow have
snagless ability.
Superior Hooks SEBILE lures have the
best hooks possible, matched to each lure’s ideal usage with
light, medium, heavy or big game gear. When the best hook for
the job isn’t available, SEBILE custom designs it, as with the
Soft Weight System, Pro-Shad Spinnerbait, Flatt Shad
Snagless and select new Salt & Sun sizes for 2011.
High Quality
Patrick Sebile says, “Fishing with my lures is
like fishing with myself beside you, sharing my knowledge and
experience as a fishermen and lure designer with you. Every
design has been extensively tested by me; the finishes,
balance and actions adjusted to near perfection so that every
lure is easy to use and effective for everyone from the novice
fisherman to the pro angler. High quality is a part of this and
therefore SEBILE’s commitment to you — to always produce a
high quality lure for you.”
Awards & Accomplishments
We hope you will enjoy our catalog. We wish you the best on
your upcoming fishing adventures, and we hope our lures will
help you and your friends make lasting lifetime memories.
SEBILE is not a typical company that produces common
styles or copies currently popular tackle as others in the
industry do; but SEBILE researches, tests and offers anglers
unique products that are one-of-a-kind and that truly “speak”
to the fish more than to the angler, and that is a big part of the
success that SEBILE baits have had in the short time the
company has been in business.
Patrick Sebile founded SEBILE USA in 2006 and since then,
SEBILE has distinguished itself by winning a total of seven
international tackle trade show awards.
At EFTTEX, the European Fishing Tackle Trade Exhibition
in Rome, Italy in 2008, SEBILE won Best Hard Lure for its
Stick Shad Blood Red series.
At ICAST 2009 in Orlando, Florida, SEBILE won two
awards — Best Hard Bait for its Spin Shad and Best Soft
Bait for its Magic Swimmer Soft. It was the first time in
ICAST’s 41 year history that a company won both hard and
soft lure categories.
In June 2010, SEBILE became the only brand on record to
win three awards at EFTTEX hosted in Valencia, Spain. The
company won Best Hard Lure for its D&S Crank, Best Metal
Lure for its Pro-Shad Spinnerbait and Best
Accessory/Terminal Tackle for the SEBILE Soft Weight
System.
Best Hard and Metal Lures, Best Accessory at EFTTEX 2010
In July 2010, the company won the Best Terminal Tackle
award for the SEBILE Soft Weight System at ICAST in Las
Vegas, Nevada.
Winning so many awards is not an easy thing to do. EFTTEX
and ICAST are the world’s two largest, most important
international sportfishing tackle trade shows. Many thousands
of innovative new tackle products are entered into the
judging, and only credentialed outdoor media, wholesale and
retail store buyers are eligible to vote on the many new
products. Awards are based on innovation, usability, design,
quality, practicality and value for the money.
These awards are an acknowledgement that SEBILE produces
high quality, innovative lures and terminal tackle that
are well above the industry standard. These awards reflect the
uniqueness and innovation that each SEBILE lure model
brings to the fishing industry. The awards are industry expert
recognition that the features, functions and benefits of each
SEBILE product differentiates them from the competition.
Best Hard and Soft Lures at ICAST 2009
“It is a great achievement to win even one award at EFTTEX or
ICAST,” says company founder, CEO and lure designer,
Patrick Sebile, “and it is unprecedented to win seven awards in
the lure and terminal tackle categories in the past three years.
Through genius, passion, friendship and hard work, there is
no limit to what a company like ours can achieve. We thank
every one in the industry who has voted for our products, and
we thank every angler who relies on SEBILE products for
better fishing.”
Soft Weights
The SEBILE Soft Weight System can be used with any kind of
soft plastics whether worms, grubs, lizards, frogs, crawdads,
swimbaits, soft jerkbaits or others.
The custom-designed hooks are strong, ultra-sharp, and
made to the highest precision Japanese hook standards. The
soft weights feature a Tungsten gum rubber style construction
so that they can be easily added, repositioned on the hook
shank or removed to make on-the-water adjustments to
fishing conditions. The weights are reusable and made of
environmentally friendly material.
As a general guideline to positioning weights to give a lure
different falling and swimming actions, note that weightforward
positioning enables the angler to impart some
interesting actions and makes the bait a little more responsive
to twitches and jerks. Weight-forward also tends to penetrate
and drop down through thick grass or brush more easily.
The weight-back positioning proves invaluable for swimming
lures steadily on the retrieve or to maximize the action of a
horizontal falling lure.
The weight-inside positioning tends to produce a dying
baitfish effect and is often desirable for dead-drifting or
deadsticking a lure.
Adding or removing weights helps with casting on windy
versus calm days and more or less weights affects depth, sink
rate and so on. Don’t neglect to study the effect that adding or
removing weights has on the action and movement of a bait as
well.
For example, using the Magic Swimmer Soft 130 with two soft
weights in front of the hook shank, you achieve a tighter, faster
side-to-side wiggle that ripples down the swimbait's body from
head to tail. This presents a more alert, normal baitfish
movement.
Using the Magic Swimmer Soft 130 with four soft weights on
the lower part of the hook right under the belly, you get a wider,
rolling action which kicks the tail out further to each side as it
swims. This presents a more disoriented, struggling movement
of a baitfish in a bit of trouble, hustling along in a more
distressed manner than normal.
So adding or removing weights will help you to fine-tune the
action and movements of soft lures.
Add or remove Soft Weights by
“screwing” them on or off,
particularly to get past the barb.
This maximizes the life of the
reusable weights.
A.T. Worm 7.5" SK 7-1/2" / 190mm 1/2 oz / 15g Sinking
This is not just one more worm. It works on all terrains (why it’s
called A.T.) and under all conditions. It has unique new
features and benefits for anglers.
First, the A.T.Worm’s head is especially thick compared to the
average worm, and it is hollow from its tail to its nose. The fact
it is hollow permits the material to possess a certain kind of
toughness and resilience that would not be possible otherwise.
So the A.T. is tougher and really lasts longer than the
average worm although thanks to the hollow body, the feeling
and action is that of a very soft, supple plastic.
Another unique feature is its head is shaped like the vhull
of a boat. That’s a big benefit especially with a
Carolina rig because, if you use just enough speed,
the A.T.Worm will lift an inch or so and glide above
the bottom, so it gains more visibility. In comparison,
the average worm simply drags on the bottom
behind a Carolina rig.
When rigged weightless, thanks again to the v-hull
shape, the A.T.Worm will almost fly or soar underwater
with long slides. Using SEBILE Soft Weights,
varying the position and number of weights, you
can change the planing angle of the A.T. Worm to
slide and glide in various directions.
Rigging is easy because “hook holes” are molded in
for entry at the nose and exit in the belly thanks to
three slots.
The hollow body allows for many interesting new places
where you can position the hook. It is possible for instance to
take a hook and thread it from the tail end all the way down
inside the hollow until you reach the head so you have inverted
the normal position of the hook in the worm. Now when you
give the A.T.Worm slack line, it will glide away from you, going
under docks, trees or any place.
With the floating model, if you hook one through the middle
and use soft weights on the hook so it will sink slowly, you get a
very unique kind of upward bend or bow to the bait that makes
it very vibrant and lifelike. It practically suspends when it gets
to the bottom, and every time you twitch it a little, it gives it a lot
of life. So you can keep it in a specific spot where a fish is, and
the worm is going to be very active just sitting there.
A “pre-rigged” worm with one hook in front and a second
stinger hook near the tail is very easy to make with the A.T.
Worm by running the connecting leader inside the hollow. This
is deadly when fish are on beds because they tend to pick
lures up by the tail.
Another unique feature is the A.T.Worm’s tail.It is a
Hook slots
kind of split tail but then again, it is not your usual
split tail. The way it’s designed, you will see the two
fleshy appendages kind of crisscross to create an X.
Turbulence will not be uniform everywhere around the
tail, and especially between the two halves of the split tail,
thanks to the crisscross design, turbulence varies greatly.
That produces a lot of action when you twitch it or when you
pull it a little bit faster, you will see the tail flapping quite a lot.
It’s a perfect match to how baitfish move their tails - not too
much until they decide to accelerate - and then you’ll see the
tail vibrate strongly.
SP70
For deep jigging, you can use the SEBILE Flats
Jighead (or any jighead) and simply run the jig
hook through the A.T. Worm’s head.Then thread a
small single hook you have attached on a leader
through the hollow so it comes out the opening
between the two parts of the split tail. The rigging is
very discreet with the leader inside the worm, and
whenever deep-dwelling fish act finicky, you are sure
to land many more fish by using a stinger hook in the
tail.
ACast Minnow SL & ML
Small Lip & Medium Lip
ACast Minnow ML 125 SU 5" / 125mm 3/4 oz / 21.1g Suspending 5 to 8 ft 8 ft 8 to 25 lb
The ACast Minnow is designed to be able to cast one an
incredibly long distance. A raceway inside runs from behind
the head to the tail, and several heavy metal beads cause a
mass transfer of a significant percentage of the ACast’s
weight into its narrow, pointed tail during the cast. The
beads roll back and chamber perfectly behind a
baffle in the lure’s head for the ideal swimming
balance during the retrieve.
The flat sides of the ACast Minnow are
designed to move or stir a lot of water, creating a
trail of turbulence underwater to attract finicky fish from
far distances. Whether you work one fast or slow, the
ACast’ s broad sides create an irresistible paddling action that
roils the water with its flat sides, thereby stirring up hungry
fish's appetites!
Small and Medium Lip ACast Minnows come in 95mm (3-3/4")
and 125 mm (5") sizes. Generally speaking, the 95 size is
suited to relatively small to medium gamefish with relatively
lighter tackle whereas the 125 is apropos to attract and land
The Small Lip (SL) models come in floating (95 and 125) or
sinking (125 only). When you see their broad sides flashing on
the retrieve, you’ ll realize just how much water those sides are
stirring. The SL models run 2-5 feet deep, depending on
model. All may be retrieved or trolled steadily. They also have
lifelike darting action when jerked. One dependable tactic is to
jerk them without pausing too long. Mainly keep jerking and
moving them to excite fish into striking. The Small Lip
models all have a wide side-to-side rolling action that is
great for powerfishing to cover water quickly in order
to search for active fish.
The Medium Lip (ML) models have a tight
wiggling action. The 95 ML reaches depths to 6
feet, the 125 ML dives to 8 feet, and both suspend when
paused. They’ re at their best when you pause one right beside
fish-holding cover, or whenever inactive fish are present, the
suspending nature of the ML models can coax strikes from
non-feeding fish that can’ t resist the long pauses that are so
deadly with the 95 ML and 125 ML.
ACast Minnow DR 165 FL 6-1/2" / 165mm 2 oz / 56g Floating < 22 ft < 45 ft 16 to 30 lb
The ACast Minnow shares the same natural baitfish shape
and silhouette as the Magic Swimmer. The difference is the
three-piece Magic Swimmer has no lip whereas the one-piece
ACast Minnow's lip causes its tall, compressed body and long
tail to move a lot of water as the broad sides present a vivid,
flashing profile, producing a strong turbulence trail of roiled
water that is easily sensed by predators from a far distance
under most conditions.
The unique lips of the MR and DR give them their
great action and make them easy divers. Patrick
Sebile has designed them to swim with the
smoothest and least resistance possible so
you can fish with them all day without getting
tired. Make no mistake however, the ACast
Minnow MR and DR are big baits requiring beefy tackle to fish
them. With their bulky bodies, the ACast Minnow MR and DR
are going to appeal to trophy fish whether in freshwater or
inshore saltwater angling.
The unique round-sided, shovel-shaped lip on the ACast
Minnow MR (Medium Runner) gives a tight and powerful
motion to the bait without pulling hard against the rod. The
ACast Minnow 165 MR is very responsive and will maintain its
depth even when you jerk, twitch or rip it as hard as you can,
without giving you the wrist-breaking resistance that so many
other big baits do.
The ACast Minnow DR (Deep Runner) uses the same
extended lip principle as the famous Koolie Minnow LL
(Long Lip). Combining the benefits of a very deep
diving bill with the ACast's body shape, you will
be surprised to hit the bottom faster than you
ever experienced before. Thanks to the thin
silhouette of the ACast 165 DR, you won't believe
how deep this lure will dive, giving you more
chances to catch more fish by going where very few
others lures are able to go, without the need of a heavy
trolling weight or downrigger! That makes the ACast Minnow
DR perfect for trolling in open water for big fish. It’ s very good
for casting too as you will find that long distance on the cast is
incredible for such a long-lipped lure.
If you like catching big fish, make the ACast Minnow 165 MR
and DR your choices to target lunker fish down deep. Use
either the MR or DR depending on the depth you want to fish,
and switch to the Magic Swimmer 165 when fish are chasing
big baitfish near the surface or in shallow water.
Also comes in Foam Filled Salt & Sun series.
The name Bonga Jerk comes the African word for menhaden
which is “bonga” — a member of the shad and herring
family. One of Patrick Sebile’s many proprietary designs, the
“Power Keel” is the secret of the action as well as the shape of
this lure. The Power Keel gives this bait its shad or menhaden
body shape that most predator fish love, but also remember
that many other deep-bodied baitfish have this instinctive
profile. So the Bonga Jerk’s shape imitates not only shad but
many other baitfish found worldwide.
Thanks to its integral “Power Keel”, the Bonga Jerk slices
through the water with incredible agility and lifelike action. The
bait lunges erratically with each rod twitch or jerk and then
recovers with a darting, side-to-side walking motion
producing violent strikes. This bait also works beautifully
when trolled, shifting from side to side in a
rhythmic dance and its “Full Wire” assembly
withstands the most brutal attacks from big fish.
Also comes in a regular model for light or medium
tackle fishing.
The Bonga Jerk is unique in the stop-and-go kind of
action you can use, if you are trying to work calm water,
and entice predators up to the surface, what you can do
is give it a good yank so the sharp keel slices down under
the water, and then let it rise back up to the surface, settle,
and then give another yank, let it surface, settle and keep
repeating that. The rounded shape of the head helps to create
disturbance in the water and also gives the bait a realistic
silhouette. The big head also causes the body to stay on top
for a second after the tail swishes and makes the water’s
surface explode! This is why stop-and-go action is so effective
with this lure, as the big swirl from the tail attracts predators
within a second or two.
So you can really use it as a kind of stop-and-go topwater,
but you can also run it right under the surface and use it as
a glider style bait by giving it short, quick twitches or
long, powerful jerks. The reaction created by the
Power Keel helps it to have an erratic motion when
used this way.
The Power Keel also helps to maintain a good
amount of speed and stability while trolled, making
tail vibration that attracts fish. Indeed it is a great bait
when trolled straight or with outriggers, or used as a
downrigger lure from 1/2 up to 22 knots for the 165
model! Depending on their mood or the species, fish can
be slow moving or fast runners - and the Bonga Jerk fits all
these different trolling speed situations from very slow to
super fast.
The Bonga Jerk is a multiuse bait that every angler will love.
This lure can be used in freshwater as well as in saltwater, fast
or slow, trolling or casting. You can simply cast and retrieve,
you can stop and go, walk the dog, twitch it gently or jerk it as
hard as you can! What you will like most is its versatility.
fat profile. Fish can't help but smash such a compact, chunky
topwater bait walking across the surface. The 72 is best fished
and the most fun with relatively light tackle.
For medium or average size gamefish, the Bonga Minnow 95
To give a little secret away, the “Full Wire” reinforced Bonga
which to target trophy fish. So if you know where a behemoth
fish is hanging out, it may be time to tempt it with a big Bonga
Crankster SR
Shallow Runner
Crankster SR 50 FL 2" / 50mm 1/4 oz / 7g Floating Wake to 6" 4 to 20 lbs
Crankster SR 65 FL 2-1/2" / 65mm 3/4 oz / 20g Floating 4" to 10" 8 to 25 lbs
The Crankster SR Shallow Runner has the same body shape
as the Crankster MR Medium Runner and it has the same
heavy metal free-floating ball bearing inside for mass transfer
of much of the Crankster’s weight into the tail for increased
casting distance and accuracy. It’s this heavy bead inside that
also gives the Crankster SR its attractive rattle that can be
heard for long distances underwater.
The Crankster SR has its lip designed at a special angle,
matched to the shape and the balance of its body, so that the
bait will swim seductively a few inches under the surface,
creating an attractive trail of subsurface turbulence and heavy
rattling noise that predators sense with their lateral lines.
It is very easy to change the swimming level from very close to
the surface and almost waking on a slow retrieve to swimming
several inches deep by changing the rod angle. If
you keep the rod at about a 45-50 degree angle, that
will help keep the bait right under the surface
throughout the retrieve. By holding the rod tip
down, it will then swim from 4" (SR 50) to 10" (SR
65) deep. You may even alternate between the
actions on the same retrieve by switching
between holding the rod up and keeping it
down.
Summer, when weeds are at their thickest and rise closest to
the water’s surface is a great time to capitalize on the
Crankster SR’s shallow nature and loud rattle that calls bass
out from under the thick grass.
In tidal rivers, other crankbaits may become unusable at low
tide, due to emergent vegetation as the tide ebbs, making the
Crankster SR’s shallow swimming level and rattle
indispensible once again. Night fishing is a great time for the
Crankster SR’s large profile to be silhouetted against the night
sky, making it an obvious target for any predator that hones in
on its large profile, subsurface turbulence trail and loud sound
at night.
During the day, any time when it gets very windy and the
surface of the water is choppy, rippled or wind-smeared, you
may want to try the Crankster SR. Under these conditions,
a typical topwater lure may get lost in the surface
commotion and a topwater may not be able to call
attention to itself because of all the surface action of
the water itself. The beauty of the Crankster SR is
that it descends a few inches underneath the chaotic
surface of the water when it’s choppy or windy. There, a
few inches beneath the surface chaos, the Crankster SR
is very visible, very vulnerable, singled out and susceptible
to any gamefish that is ready to grab at it! Not only does the
Crankster SR itself become highly visible when it drops down
beneath the tempest-tossed surface of the water, but the
many ripples of the surface act like so many shards of a mirror
to reflect multiple images of the Crankster in every direction,
throwing flashes and glimmers of the Crankster’s image all
around it, signaling gamefish in every direction to the
Crankster’s presence.
So you can see how the subsurface nature of the new
Crankster SR Shallow Runner gives you many possibilities
under many conditions.
The Crankster MR Medium Runner casts an incredible
distance and displays an attention-attracting tight, fast wiggle
with a loud yet natural swimming sound that rings the dinner
bell for any hungry predator. You’ll never know what’s going to
crash your Crankster next!
You will be astonished by the Crankster’s remarkable distance
casting ability. Most crankbaits are not aerodynamic. Many will
often spin and stall in mid-air. Yet the Crankster MR, the first
time you try it, you will see it casts like a rocket. The reason is it
contains a heavy tungsten bead inside. When you cast, the
bead which is 60% of the lure’s weight moves to the tail for long
distance and accurate casts.
This unparalleled castability in a crankbait applies to
overhead casts as well as underhand pitching of the
Crankster into tight spots with precision accuracy.
When pitching underhand within heavy cover situations,
the dense tungsten bead rests in the very tail tip
of the Crankster as it dangles below your rod tip. This
makes it as easy to pitch and as accurate to place as a
flipping jig.
It’s this heavy bead inside that gives the Crankster its
attractive rattle that can be heard for long distances
underwater. With this dense bead bouncing off the walls
inside the Crankster, the decibel level is off the charts.
No other crankbait knocks quite like this.
The extended lip design, a unique feature of SEBILE
lures, edges the lip out away from the nose of the lure, and
that helps the lure react instantly.
That unique short square lip is designed to deflects sharply,
shooting the Crankster wide to the side whenever it hits an
underwater obstruction such as a rock, stump, brush or tough
Blue Althea
weed stalks. The rotund and bulbous body makes it more
buoyant than most crankbaits too, and that buoyancy is also
what makes the Crankster react so responsively.
The Crankster avoids most snags. As you watch it, you’ll see
the Crankster shoot way out to the side away from anything it
hits, then quickly recovering and getting back on track. In
especially troublesome spots, if it has no alternative but
to come up and over the top of a snag, then it will roll
over onto its back to do so. Watch and you’ll see the
lure go belly up as it rolls over the obstruction. That
swings the hooks on top of the lure momentarily until it
comes through cleanly and arights itself again.
O4
There’s definitely a knack to ripping the rod tip and
therefore the lure sharply the exact instant whenever
you feel it bounce against anything. That gets it ricocheting
off the junk before it has a chance to bog down in it.
Practice makes perfect, but once you become adept at
this tactic, you’ll be amazed how snagless the Crankster
can be.It’s hard work to fish this way, but rewarding.
The brawny Crankster MR 65 may be used with heavier line
and a heavier rod in the heaviest cover. The Crankster MR 55
is ideal to bounce around docks, pilings and more moderate
cover. The Crankster MR 45 and 35 give you the same
features, functions and benefits when using lighter gear in
downsized fishing situations.
No matter what size or species of gamefish you pursue, there
is a sinking Flatt Shad SK model that’s perfect for any predator
from the smallest to the largest, shallow or deep, in fresh or
saltwater.
Note that the Flatt Shad works more off vibration than rattling
noise. Yes, Flatt Shads do make an attractive rattling sound,
but not as loud as most other brands of lipless rattling baits.
The Flatt Shad’s pronounced vibration, however, is its
advantage. It’s wide, flat sides push an awful lot of water
rapidly to the right and left, leaving a strong trail of turbulence
that fish sense and will detect from afar through the water.
All Flatt Shad sizes will have action even when you go slow.
The design concept includes a belly that is wider than the
back. This causes big water turbulence on the sides and belly.
That turbulence creates instability, which creates action. So
you can go slow and can still have action. With any model or
size of Flatt Shad, you can slow way, way down with the
retrieve speed until you barely feel the lure throbbing in the rod
handle - and there are days when finicky fish require the
patient approach just described.
right up to a likely spot, and then just stop it right where you
think is best, right in front of the spot where you think a fish is
waiting in ambush. That’s what the 77 SU is made for. When
you let it suspend there, that truly antagonizes them. It’s not
like something that’s swimming by, that’s passing through. It
stops and stays right in front of their hiding spot. So it’s kind of
like sitting there in their space, and they’re going to attack it for
that reason. Just let it sit there, give it a twitch or jerk, and
watch out! That’s a reaction strike you can really only get with
the suspending Flatt Shad model.
Normally however, in terms of action, you may use a steady
retrieve or troll the Flatt Shad and it will attract many strikes
simply because of the Flatt Shad’s vibration and swimming
motion.
But when fishing gets tough, predators of all kinds may react
to or be triggered to strike more by irregular lure actions. A
stop-and-go, a lift-and-fall, whipping, ripping, burning,
switching the rod tip or speed-reeling and then suddenly
pausing the Flat Shad SK may trigger more reaction strikes
versus a straight, steady retrieve.
Also, since many gamefish often hold in deep water, the Flatt
Shad SK is one of the few hardbaits that will sink and can
continue to be effective (be vertically jigged) at depths of 20,
30, 40 feet deep (depending on model) using thin diameter
braided line. This is well beyond the reach of most any hardbait
on the market, except for super deep models of the SEBILE
Koolie Minnow LL Long Lip series. And while many other
brands of lipless crankbaits fail miserably and foul the line
constantly in vertical jigging situations, the Flatt Shad SK
series all work without fouling much in deep water appropriate
to their size and weight.
Also comes in Foam Filled Salt & Sun series.
Whether it’s the Sinking, Suspending or Snagless model,
there's nothing ordinary about any member of the Flatt Shad
family. Yet it’ s the Extra Heavy version that's truly extraordinary.
Of course you may fish the Flatt Shad Extra Heavy practically
any way that you’ d use a standard sinking Flatt Shad, so it will
work the same way but deeper. When it is necessary to cast
an extra long distance or it is difficult to cast against the wind,
those are conditions that call for the Flatt Shad Extra Heavy
too.
What's especially unique about the XH is it’ s one of the only
hard plastic lures that is effective when casting to fish on
or close to bottom in very deep water. The best tactic
is often to cast out and wait for the Flatt Shad
Extra Heavy to hit bottom. Then flick or jig it a
few inches off the bottom. The Flatt Shad
will continually pendulum closer toward
you as it sinks. Let it make a series
of contacts with the bottom,
lifting it a few inches off the
bottom each time. Very small
flicks or draws of the rod tip - only a
couple of inches - are all that’ s needed
to attract fish this way. Even though you
may be moving it very little, very slowly, the Flatt Shad will
have fish-attracting action. The design concept includes a
belly that is wider than the back. This causes big water
turbulence on the sides and belly. That turbulence creates
instability, which creates action. So you can go slow, moving it
only a few inches and still have action. As soon as you lift one,
it will instantly start wobbling as long as there is even slight line
pull to activate it.The Flatt Shad’ s pronounced vibration at any
speed from ultra slow to ultra fast is its unique advantage.
Another Flatt Shad Extra Heavy situation is to “walk” the lure
down any sloping bottom whether it's a steep bluff, the tip or
sides of a point, a submerged hump, graduallydeepening
creek channel or any sloping shoreline
or bottom. The shallowest part you want
to fish is where the lure should land, and
you can let the lure sink further or
count it down at the very beginning
of the cast until it gets to the depth
you want to target. Then simply hold
Blue Althea
the rod tip up around ten o’ clock and
follow the lure's sinkage down with the
rod tip, so the lure has a semi-loose line to
develop falling action. When the rod tip gets
close to the water, lift gently again to 10 o’ clock and
follow the lure’ s descent back down until the rod tip nears the
water again. Basically perform this lift-and-fall tactic for the
entire retrieve, thereby following the contour of the sloping
bottom back to you. When you lift it, it moves relatively quicker
with more vibration and then it slows down, stops and starts to
sink like it can’ t continue any longer. Many hits will come on the
falling portion as you follow the lure down with the rod tip.
Those are just a couple of the special tactics and advantages
of using the extraordinary SEBILE Flatt Shad Extra Heavy.
Flatt Shad Snagless 66 XH-SK 2-5/8" / 66mm 3/4 oz / 20g Extra Heavy Sinking 4 to 6 ft < 60 ft 8 to 20 lb
The Flatt Shad Snagless is one of SEBILE’s most innovate
new fishing lure designs. It’s destined to go down in history as
one of the greatest lipless crankbaits ever!
It is far better at getting into and out of thick cover compared to
most any other hardbait. The way the cleverly configured
double hook catches fish, it is like using a flipping jig. Often
both hook points are embedded deep in the roof of the mouth.
It hooks fish solidly and holds them securely like using a jig
hook - except it is a lipless crankbait.
With the hookless feather tail, we dare say the Flatt Shad
Snagless has a better swimming action than even the regular
Flatt Shad with two treble hooks.Try it yourself and see if it isn’t
true.
But the biggest advantage lies in how the Flatt Shad Snagless
will benefit shore anglers in fresh or saltwater. Shore fisherman
run a higher risk of losing lures compared to boaters. So
the Flatt Shad Snagless provides a very effective way to fish
from shore, and it permits you to prospect all the underwater
terrain from deep to shallow, in search of fish. You may hug or
bounce the bottom a little more closely and penetrate tough
cover more deeply with less risk of snagging than ever before.
Why the Flatt Shad Snagless works so well has to do with its
side-to-side swimming action that causes its body to switch
from right to left rapidly even on a slow retrieve. The sideswitching
body is constantly in a position where it can deflect
something like a branch, a stalk of grass or even a rock.So that
rapid series of deflective movements shields the whole bait
and especially the double hook from snagging against any
obstacles that the lure may hit or encounter.
The second design feature that makes the Flatt Shad
Snagless possible is that only a double hook with a lot of
freedom of movement will work here. If it is a standard double
hook that is too stiff or too short and doesn’t have enough
freedom to lag behind the body, there will be a lot of snags and
also, missed strikes.Ample freedom or “play” is needed to
really be efficient at hooking fish and also the right dimensions
of every hook proportion must be perfect which is why SEBILE
custom-designed the exact hook for the job. By having the
proper hook, what happens is when the Flatt Shad body
switches to the right, both upward-facing points of the double
hook will be lagging behind (to the left) because the hook just
follows the body, always one beat behind it. On the next beat,
when the body switches to the left, the double hook will swing
to the right. So the hook will always lag one beat behind the
body, thereby always protected from snags by the body. The
body always takes the leading step, the double hook always
takes the following step, and when the side of the body hits a
branch, a stalk of grass or a rock, it deflects away before the
hook swings to that side. That’s what makes the big difference
for snagless fishing.
It is also very important to be very snagless that we only use a
hook on the belly of the lure. Having any hook on the tail really
increases the number of snags without really increasing the
number of fish hooked, plus that flickering hookless feather
really adds to the allure.
Also, something that people may be surprised to hear is that
when you have a regular lure with two treble hooks, that
means the lure has six hook points and at the moment of a
strike, when you set the hook, then all the pressure you put on
the line to set those hooks has to be divided between those six
points so you may have a lower quality or poorer hookset and
that is why a jig head for example is very efficient, since all the
power goes on that single hook. So having just two hook
points on the Flatt Shad Snagless instead of six is really very
efficient and hooks fish very well.
About the feather, we use white for every Snagless color.
White always makes an easy target for fish to spot as well as
for the angler to watch his lure coming back through cover.
Ghost Walker 110 4-1/4" / 110mm 1 oz / 28g Floating Topwater 10 to 40 lb
Full Wire Reinforced
The fantastic Ghost Walker combines very good castability
with a very easy ability to walk the dog across the surface with
great agility and little effort by the angler. With a wide gliding
trek, the Ghost Walker moves fluidly while leaving a boisterous
wake in its path.Just small movements of the rod tip are all
that's required to make the Ghost Walker skate from side to
side as it turns on its wide, flat belly surface. Viewed by fish
from below, the lure’s broad body offers a bold strike target
accentuated by multiple flashes of light dispersing from its
sides and underbelly.
The ability to walk the Ghost Walker works best
under calm conditions, benefiting from its longcasting
ease and subtle splash on landing. Due
to the extreme casting distance of the Ghost
Walker, it is best to work the lure with the rod tip
high during early retrieve and then lowering the
rod tip to complete the retrieve as it nears the
boat.
A second tactic and action possible with the Ghost Walker
is to simply reel it in steadily with the rod held down so it slides
on the water creating a big, boisterous "V" wake as if it is a
frog, mouse, baitfish or other aquatic critter swimming across
the surface. Very simple yet very effective under any conditions
from flat calm to breezy, choppy situations. That simple
action can be a killer and one that outperforms many conventional
retrieves!
No lure is easier to use if fish are actively chasing prey, simply
keep the rod tip down and reel in without moving the rod. It
makes the lure look like a fleeing baitfish, mouse or frog and
predators smash it!
The complex, curved design of the body and head is quite
unusual, and that’s a big part of the reason why the Ghost
Walker has such unique action even when reeled straight. It
makes waves in front of its head, like a boat and the dip at midbody
and rise of the tail also create unique turbulences
coming off every part of the body from head to tail. This
powerful trail of turbulence leaves a charged path
of energy behind the lure to lead predators
right to the target, even on the darkest night.
It’s recommended to use the Ghost Walker
this way whenever powerfishing in order to
cover long distances quickly while searching
to find areas holding fish.
The 95 model is a standard lure, but the 110 comes
in a reinforced “Full Wire” version, allowing you to target
bigger, stronger fish while using heavier line and tackle. This
makes the 110 perfect to cast into the densest brush, mangrove
tangles and between jetty rocks and dock pilings, all
places where big brutes live and a lot of rod and line pressure
is necessary to maneuver them out into open water.
The Floating (FL) ML models dig down from 2-10 feet depending
on model. An ML presents a more robust, healthy baitfish
swimming action compared to the distressed action of an SL.
You may use longer, sharper pulls of the rod and faster reeling
to produce action that's more like a baitfish shooting around in
short bursts, keeping one step ahead of predators, or one that
is flitting along, stopping to feed or look around before continuing
on its way. MLs emit a nice vibration that can be felt in the
The Big Round Lip (BRL) is a favorite of almost
every angler who has tried one. It rolls side to
side, generating a zigzag action that's
terribly exciting to predators and draws
fish from great depths and distances.
The BRL runs both deeper and shallower than SL and ML
models. How can that be? If you reel slowly, the BRL will
descend 5-10 feet deep, depending on model. Reel quicker
and the BRL rises higher up, becoming increasingly more
action. An SL has a narrower (not less) tail swing as if a
struggling baitfish that is somehow hampered in its ability to
swim normally. It’s a good idea to work the Koolie SL in a way
that maximizes the effect of its feeble, struggling motions
when twitched and paused.
attract active, aggressive fish. So think of it as the power
fishing Koolie version. Also comes in Sinking (SK) models that
can be used the same as the Floating MLs except the SKs
work a little deeper, have a little wider sweep to their tails, and
sink slowly when paused.
frantic with an ultra-wide roll, even splashing enticingly on top
at the fastest retrieve possible.
The BRL is one incredible lure you won't find anywhere else,
Koolie Minnow Long Lips are buoyant, deep-diving minnows
with wiggling, rolling actions. The design of the strong,
bridge-reinforced lip allows a steep dive and an easy
retrieve in comparison to other baits of its kind. They
may be swam steadily or jerked responsively and they rise
free of snags whenever paused. In fact, several aspects of
their construction are designed to let Koolies dive deep into
snaggy areas without getting stuck.
With a full size range, there is truly a Koolie Minnow LL size
suited to catch any deep-dwelling predator on the planet, from
the biggest to the smallest.
“On light, medium or heavy tackle, in salt or freshwater, the
Koolie Long Lip series is my favorite choice when I want to
fish deep water, either casting or deep trolling.Particularly
when you have a tidal current or in a freshwater river,
the Koolie Long Lip is as easy to use as simply
casting it 90 degrees straight out, and let the
current work the bait down and around,
almost without reeling. Very simple, but oh
so very effective,” says Patrick Sebile.
“What I like very much with the Koolie LL is
that this bait goes really deep for its size without pulling heavily
on the rod tip,” says Patrick Sebile. “Less water resistance
means less pulsation from the lure felt in the rod tip. Due to its
unique bridged lip design, there is less feel of the lure throb,
and that also increases the angler’s sensitivity to anything - a
short strike, grass or debris on the hook, contact with bottom
or cover - all are easier to detect since the lip resistance itself
is not the overpowering sensation. So you can more easily
detect short strikes, bottom, cover, debris and react quicker to
whatever you feel making contact with the lure.”
Other long-billed minnows do not cast very well because that
long lip which causes water resistance to make it dive deeper,
it also causes air resistance to make it fall short when cast. No
doubt every angler may have experienced this distancerobbing
effect with other long-billed baits. Not so with the
Koolie LL, thanks to the gap or space between the lure’s nose
and the lip, there is less air turbulence created around the lip –
which is the reason why the Koolie LL sails so impressively
smooth and far on a cast.
Ocean, surf and bay anglers favor the Koolie Minnow LL for
Japan’s sea bass.In Russia, trolling is the most popular way to
use the Koolie LL. In Europe, the most popular way is casting
with a steady retrieve just like you’d use a crankbait although
at times using sudden, short pauses and/or twitches is the
ticket.
In North America, savvy anglers prefer to retrieve minnow
baits like the Koolie LL with sharp jerks and frequent pauses.
The Koolie Minnow excels when used this way as a jerkbait.
The Koolie LL is buoyant so that it will rise when the
retrieve is paused. This makes the Koolie LL an
excellent choice to work through deep wood,
rock beds, brush, grass or any kind of bottom
debris. When paused, it will rise, and that lets it
float up and away from any obstacles it may have
encountered down there. In comparison, the
popular variety of suspending jerkbaits can’t back out
of snags (they only get deeper into trouble) due to their
non-rising nature.
Also, as a paused Koolie LL rises into the open water just
above snaggy cover, that moment is a high percentage strike
point. It becomes visible and vulnerable to attack as its sudden
emergence triggers predators to strike quickly before the prey
can dart back down into the relative safety and concealment of
the bottom cover again.
To sum up, the Koolie LL has a wiggling, rolling action, and
dives deeper than other minnow baits of comparable size. It
catches fish just like a crankbait when used with a steady
retrieve. Also superb to use as a jerkbait with a cadence of
jerks and pauses. It may be trolled or strummed in a current.
Best of all, it floats up and out of snags, making it a great
choice to swim right through thick underwater cover where
other lures such as suspending jerkbaits cannot easily be
used without snagging them.
Magic Swimmer
SEBILE’s most famous lure model, the Magic Swimmer is a
revolutionary design that undulates it’s jointed body in a very
natural way that’s irresistible to predators.
In spring 2008, SEBILE pros Todd Faircloth and Kenyon Hill
both used it to help them win Bassmaster Elite events. Todd
won at Lake Amistad, Texas and Kenyon at Clarks Hill Lake,
Georgia. At the same time, a massive 17 lb. lake record
largemouth was landed in Japan by angler Hidetaka
Nakajima, getting press worldwide for the Magic Swimmer.
Today, the Magic Swimmer is very popular with anglers
everywhere and for every species in fresh or saltwater.
Available in hard and soft versions, the Magic Swimmer does
not have a lip like other hard baits, nor does the Magic
Swimmer Soft have a paddle tail to make it swim. So what
makes it swim so magically you ask?
It is all about the tapered nose and humpbacked head which
slices the water, making turbulence first on one side, then the
other. Once turbulence starts rolling down the sides, it won't
stop undulating like a living fish. All models are very stable
swimmers whether trolled or cast. They just keep on swimming
with that magic action no matter what.
The Slow-Sinking swims great when reeled or trolled at any
speed from ultra-slow to super fast. Anglers like using them
with steady, straight retrieves; and the Slow-Sinking tends
to stay a few feet below the surface. It's also popular
to “burn” the SSK by reeling fast so it rises to
the top like a fleeing baitfish. Increase
your reeling pace with your rod
tip down, and the bait will
wake the surface, or
you may wake
one slowly by
holding
24
82
95
110
125
your rod tip up.You will also want to try twitching, jerking and
ripping these responsive swimbaits.
The Fast-Sinking has superb swimming action on the retrieve
as well. What's incredible is that the FSK swims on the fall,
without the angler having to do anything to get this great
swimming action on the fall.
The Fast-Sinking can be worked much deeper and if you fish
where there is current or waves, you may favor the Fast-
Sinking for fast or turbulent water.
The Magic Swimmer Soft moves through the water with the
same realistic swimming motion as its hard counterparts, and
the Soft comes in sizes for even the biggest predators!
The best mindset for using them is to treat each model
and size of Magic Swimmer a little differently. They
are similar yet each has its own subtle
actions and they are all great. They are
228
all well worth learning how to
use them.
The Magic Swimmer Soft is a jointed soft plastic bait that
swims as good as the original Magic Swimmer hardbait, PLUS
it can be rigged weedless. Intricate details and realistic
swimming action bring the lure to life.
The body has an “envelope” area molded in with an opening at
the belly that receives and conceals most of the offset hook
inside the bait, requiring the hook go only through a small
section of plastic in the upper back portion for enhanced fishhooking
efficiency.
Rigging is easy because “hook holes” are molded in for entry
at the nose and exit in the back. To rig weedless, conceal the
hook’s point in the recessed groove in the top of the lure’s
back. Use with the SEBILE Soft Weight System for easy
addition and removal of weight.
The Magic Swimmer Soft can also be fished weightless and
casts easily and far by its own density. The lure can be rigged
with a variety of hooks and jig heads and be fished many
different ways in fresh or saltwater.
The lure is great for skipping under docks, mangrove roots
and other overhanging obstacles.
It can also be Texas-rigged, Carolina-rigged and fished on a
drop-shot rig.
What is the number one action that fish go for? It’s
a falling action, and the Magic Swimmer Fast
Sinking (FSK) has it! As a result of its unique
and heavy balance, the FSK will swim magically
while sinking without reeling. This gives you something
totally new and unique, as you can use the Magic Swimmer
FSK with a regular, steady reeling and it’ll swim amazingly
lifelike but you can also stop reeling to let it wriggle and
undulate beautifully on the fall! The angler needs to do nothing
to get this action. It’s designed to happen automatically. As it
swims as it falls, it creates all its own underwater signals to
attract predators, and therein lies its benefit to you!
You will be amazed by the effectiveness of this bait with such
little movement required by the angler! Even fast-hunting
predators are used to finding dying prey; they are a delicacy to
them as well as an easy meal — and so is your Magic
Swimmer FSK as it falls with built-in swimming action.
But don’t limit yourself to what you can do with it either,
because you can use it with many different speed retrieves
The Magic Swimmer’s unique and natural action sets this
superstar apart from all other lures. The thin baitfish body is
jointed in three parts to ripple together in rhythmic swimming
motion as artificial imitates perfection to make this impostor
appear to be the real thing. Swim the lure slow or fast, at your
discretion, as allowed by the Magic Swimmer’s perfect
balance. Its natural swimming action even during steady
retrieves is just too much for most gamefish to resist and is
equally effective when cast or trolled by any means. It is
available in sizes and models for all gamefish from the biggest
to the smallest, in fresh or saltwater.
“Okay now, let me share one of my favorite ways to use the
Magic Swimmer Slow Sinking, which is to use it is as a slow
sinking twitchbait where you let it sink as you twitch it with little
downward twitches of the rod tip.Only twitch a few inches, and
it will flip and flop in semi-circles and can easily do an about-
and various angler-imparted rod actions. There’s no right or
wrong way to use one, yet always remember that you can
count on the Magic Swimmer FSK to do its job when it falls, as
that’s often when many strikes happen. Simply, this lure works
for you and catches many fish for you if you let it fall a few times
during your retrieve.
The fast sinkers are long distance casters too, thanks to their
heavier body weights. You can drill one out there, even in the
wind. Also because they are heavier and have more stability,
you get better control in current and waves.
face 180 degree turn-around when you lightly twitch it. Each
twitch of the rod propels the Magic Swimmer into an erratic
lunge that signals predators it is weak and vulnerable prey,”
says Patrick Sebile. That sinking, twitching tactic is the
strategic advantage that only the Magic Swimmer has — and
what it was designed to do. One of the keys to this action is to
twitch it, and then instantly push the rod tip back toward the
lure so the lure may complete its irresistible darting, lunging,
swerving movement on a slack, not tight line. That’s just one of
the many ways to catch more fish with the legendary Magic
Swimmer!
A fluid, natural appearance, its mesmerizing undulation
and multi-chambered hard plastic body filled with
noisy rattle beads distinguish the SEBILE Onduspoon
from all the rest. In fact, it is difficult to speak of the sleek
and stylish Onduspoon in the same sentence as other
spoons. This creation is so modern and unique that there is
no spoon like it to compare it against.
The Onduspoon is a hard plastic, noisy chattering spoon
cleverly designed not to twist your line even when you burn it
back or troll it. That’s right — the Onduspoon’s exceptional
internal balance makes it immune to line twist.
The Onduspoon is heavy, so you can cast it as far as a lure can
go. But don’t let its heavy, thick body fool you.The hard plastic
body is hollow inside so when it hits the water, the
Onduspoon’s horizontal descent is enticingly slow to make it
linger in the strike zone longer. Simply let it sink until it reaches
your target level. Then start reeling and the lure will remain at
that depth during the retrieve.
The Onduspoon contains a unique sequence of rattle chambers
inside. A precise ratio of beads inside each chamber
contribute to the balance and action. They also provide nonstop
fish attracting noise and vibration. This lure is as noisy as
any you have ever heard!
For balance, the Onduspoon includes a fixed weight in its
forward section. This enables the angler to impart some
interesting actions. You can work the highly-responsive
Onduspoon like a jerkbait, you can walk the dog with it, twitch
it, skitter it on the surface and do many things that few if any
other spoon can do.
Now that we’ve covered the Onduspoon’s advanced technical
features, its most extraordinary benefit is simply its breathtakingly
realistic undulation. It has amazing life-like swimming
motion at any speed. The bait’s undulations are soft and
natural to realistically resemble movements of prey when
moved forward at slow to medium speeds. It maintains an
even keel, meaning it will roll up and swing wide from side-toside
but never fully loops or twists the line at normal speeds.
At high speeds, it moves in a frantic, fluttering, scrambling
panic to flee from predators that chase and smack at it. The
frantically fleeing Onduspoon does loop in full circles trying to
escape, but what’s amazing is it will spin three to seven times
clockwise, then reverse direction to spin three to seven times
counterclockwise. So it is twisting the line one way, then
untwisting it the other way — every time! It’s the most amazing
spoon you’ll ever own.
Now you know why we find it hard to speak of other spoons
because none can compare to the Onduspoon. It’s at home
when slow-rolled across the top of shallow grass, twitch it into
open pockets, or when counted down to any depth, when
danced with artful rod action or gyrating wildly behind a
downrigger, flasher, dodger or any trolling device. Use it any
Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Trophy
Model
Weight Type Level Line Test
Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Trophy 1 oz / 28g Sinking 6" to 8 ft 12 to 30 lb
Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Trophy 1-3/8 oz / 38g Sinking 1 to 10 ft 16 to 40 lb
The SEBILE Pro-Shad Spinnerbait is the result of
combining years of fishing experience and
research with innovative thinking.
It comes in two series - Trophy and Finesse. One big thing
which is common between the two is that the blade or blades
are not directly on the same wire that stems from the head of
the spinnerbait. On a standard spinnerbait, a single fixed
piece of wire usually looms more or less over the hook point,
meaning that a fish that engulfs the entire lure may not always
get hooked because the upper arm may block or prevent the
hookset. In comparison, both models of the Pro-Shad
Spinnerbait have their blades mounted on an independent
piece of wire which has a junctured link to the main wire. This
means that if a fish engulfs the wire along with the bait now, it is
designed to move out of the way and there is nothing to foul up
a good hookset every time!
Another benefit of the junctured arm is its freedom of movement
will always let the blades operate at the right angle and
the right position to keep spinning all the time. That is a very
important and key design goal to always have constant
swimming action from the blades. After all, the blades are the
most important part of a spinnerbait. If you don’t believe it,
experiment
trying to catch
anything on a
spinnerbait with the blades
removed or with the blades so they can’t turn, and you’ll see
it’s true when we say "blades make the spinnerbait" and the
more freedom with which the blades turn, the more fish you’ll
entice. That’s why Patrick Sebile dedicated much time and
effort to design the perfect SEBILE Pro-Shad Blade which is
wide in front and narrow in the back, allowing the blade to work
under any speed, from ultra slow to ultra fast, with a fair
resistance but lots of turbulences, and it gives a very realistic
lifelike flash and silhouette to the lure. But that’s not all. The
junctured arm then gives the maximum - almost 360 degree
freedom for the spinning blades to follow perfectly every angle
of the retrieve or on the fall.
Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Trophy Whereas the Finesse model has two blades on its arm, you will immediately notice that the
Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Trophy model only has one blade and what’s very unique is that behind the blade there is a skirt that is
moved by the turbulences that the spinning blade creates and that in turn gives the skirt a spiraling movement too.The skirt acts
in swirling motions giving the illusion of extra volume to make big fish think this is a substantial prey! But the extra volume isn’t
entirely an illusion either. The spiraling skirt pushes a HUGE volume of water in every direction, creating a monstrous trail of
turbulence that works as well on the retrieve as on the drop. If you use some kind of yo-yo or reeling slower/faster or even on a
dead drop, the skirt spirals and emits a ton of turbulence no matter how you use the Pro-Shad SpinnerbaitTrophy!
Some people may wonder if fish will try to hit the blade and skirt behind it, since it is a bulky target, but the Trophy model is really
a big lure dedicated to catching big fish and those trophies usually only have one goal in mind - which is to swallow the whole
thing!
The Trophy model features an extra heavy duty wireframe and a welded shut line tie eye for attaching a snap and wire leader as
appropriate for toothy gamefish.
The body is made of bismuth encased within
hard plastic. That permits the body to have the
most realistic finishes with lifelike details such as
scales, eyes and gill flaps that rival any crankbait.
Uniquely designed with a wide-gap for an increased hookset
ratio and better holding power, the high-quality black nickel
hook has a super hard sharpened point. The design of this
special wide gap is to really increase the distance behind the
upper lip where the hook sets when a fish bites. Especially
when a large fish swallows the whole thing, this wide gap is
what you want (compared to traditional round bend
spinnerbait hooks). SEBILE’s offset wide gap hook is superior
first for the hookset further behind the lip, and second to hold
better during a fish’s head-shaking fight.
The Pro-Shad Spinnerbait’s perfect balance, custom blades
and jointed arm make it easy to reel. The high tensile steel wire
selected permits the angler to fine tune lure action.
“The wire that comes out from the nose, I choose to make it
using a specific steel that you may bend to adjust the wire to
different angles for different conditions. For example, if you
want to fish shallow in grass or brush, then bend the longest
piece of the wire up and also open the angle between it and
the smaller piece of wire. Doing that, you raise the level where
the lure is tied to the line - the pull point - and that means the
will have a
lower center of
more stability to fish even
shallower and second, it
increases the deflection that the
main wire gives in front of the lure,
pushing it off of and away from grass or brush better,” says
Patrick Sebile.
“Now if you wish to fish more open water and make longer
distance casts, what I recommend is to lower the position of
the wire to reduce the angle between the longest and the
shortest piece of wire. This on-the-water adjustability is
something that is made possible by the choice of the steel wire
but also because we have the junctured arm where the blades
spin. If you had a fully fixed blade wire (like a standard
spinnerbait) and you were able to adjust that for different
conditions, it’s no guarantee the blades will be able to work
under any given angle but in the Pro-Shad Spinnerbait’s case,
yes it will work absolutely all the time,” says Patrick.
Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Finesse The Pro-Shad Spinnerbait Finesse body and blades are made to look alike. Thanks to their
similar shape and finishes, the body and blades truly appear as a small school of baitfish.
The larger front blade is mounted on the wire with a custom-designed, specific clevis of a big diameter to give the blade more
eccentricity from the axle of rotation for more reactivity and to move a lot of water without pulling hard on the rod.The smaller
back blade is mounted with a ball bearing swivel for 360 degrees of independent freedom from the arm. Both blades turn as
soon as they hit the water.Use breaks in the retrieve, let it free fall, and both blades still turn. There’s never down time when one
blade’s not working. Its stable balance also permits the angler to burn it fast. Both blades constantly create lots of turbulence
and extremely realistic baitfish flashes and silhouettes at any speed from ultra slow to super fast.
The Finesse model has infinite grace and agility to convince lure-smart fish to bite. It will fool even the most wary, educated
fishes with its small fish-shaped blades and realistic body finishes.Yet it has the guts for hard core powerfishing tactics too!
The Finesse model features a rubber retainer around the line tie eye to help prevent your line from being pulled out of place.
Proppler Buzz #2 3" / 80mm 7/8 oz / 25g Floating Wake to 3" 20 to 65 lb
The Proppler Buzz is at its best in the thickest cover and
surface clutter that any lure will ever face.It crawls across piles
of flotsam and jetsam, climbs over brush and finds its way
through densely-choked lily pad fields. It seems that nothing
can stop it.
It features a floating, hollow body that churns the water as it
spins and splashes PLUS it is filled with raucous rattles that
demand attention.
Cast the Proppler into impossibly heavy cover and retrieve so
it comes across any small pockets or open patches. Those are
the high percentage strike spots. You can expect the Proppler
to get plowed right at the very edge of any opening on its way
into and out of any little open areas.
It does not always stay on the surface, but can be made to
bulge barely below the surface. It will also descend a few
inches below the surface and propel along deep enough so it
doesn’t leave any surface disturbance at all. The angle you
hold the rod plus retrieve speed are controlling factors as to
the Proppler’s depth level. Fish belt it any way - waking,
bulging or subsurface - although they tend to strike the
subsurface presentation more consistently under a wider
variety of conditions.
SEBILE brings innovation to anglers in every way we can help
your fishing, including the Dressed Trailer Hook. With a wider
gap than a normal trailer hook, it holds better in the fish’s
mouth. The point sits at a level slightly above the primary lure’s
hook point. Strong and super sharp, the hard black nickel
finish is durable and corrosion-resistant in both fresh and
saltwater. By adding a skirt to the trailer hook, it makes the
lure’s visual volume bigger to increase the action and apparent
size of the bait to the fish. The Dressed Trailer Hook is the
perfect addition to spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and jigs. Especially
recommended with the Proppler Buzz, Pro-Shad Spinnerbait,
D&S Crank and to replace the treble hook on the Onduspoon
to limit snags in shallow areas.
An
advantage
over
standard buzzbaits
is that the Proppler floats
when paused. It can be
paused adjacent to cover and
ripped hard to make a huge tear
on the surface. Be prepared for the
most explosive strikes of all when you rip it this way and then
let it sit still. There’s often a delay of several seconds before a
fish will absolutely annihilate the Proppler. So don’t be in a
rush. The wait is well worth what happens next!
Also work the floating Proppler Buzz as if a plastic frog, with
alternating pauses and small twitches of the rod tip. The skirt
pulses with life and puts the poor Proppler in danger of being
engulfed in a huge and ferocious splash! Add the SEBILE
Dressed Trailer Hook if you experience missed bites. It not
only adds a wide gap hook but more volume and action thanks
to the trailer having its own skirt.
Any way you use it, it’s heartstopping to watch a hidden fish
flash out of cover to take a swift, boiling lunge at the wonderful,
Spin Shad #2 1-1/4 oz / 35g Sinking 5 to 12 ft < 40 ft 12 to 25 lb
SEBILE’s award-winning Spin Shad is a very versatile lure
that can catch almost anything that swims in fresh or saltwater.
It gives you a wide range of performance that very few other
baits possess. There are not that many baits you can burn, you
can have a medium speed retrieve, go slow, even bottombouncing
or yo-yo it.You can fish one foot under the surface or
extremely deep. To give you a feel for just how deep, the Spin
Shad #1 is only 3/4 oz but can be slowly bottom-bounced
down to 60 feet deep. With the 1-1/4 oz Spin Shad #2, you can
vertical fish 120 to 150 feet deep with thin diameter line.
The Spin Shad is made of heavy bismuth metal encased
inside a fish-shaped hard plastic body adorned with the lifelike
details and realistic color finishes of a small crankbait.
Yet it’s the matching blade that makes the Spin Shad absolutely
irresistible.Resembling a pair of small baitfish, the blade
and the body are a conjunction of two lures in one. The
flashing blade follows the body wherever it goes, presenting
the schooling action of two baits together.
The powerful blade also rocks and vibrates the entire body. So
both the body and tail shudder enticingly.
As soon as it hits the water, the blade starts spinning and
keeps spinning no matter what. Whether on the drop, on the
way up, on the way down, on a horizontal retrieve, while
vertical jigging or twitching it, you almost never break the
action of the blade. If the Spin Shad is moving by any means,
the blade will spin and emit attractive turbulence, flashes and
vibration to draw fish to the bait. It is constantly working to
attract fish for you.
The blade will not pull hard against the rod either. This lack of
water pressure makes the Spin Shad effective at any speed or
any depth no matter how you work it. You are able to fish the
Spin Shad from a foot or two below the surface to very deep.
Simply let the Spin Shad sink to your target level and since the
blade doesn’t pull hard against your rod, the Spin Shad will
stay at whatever level you wish to retrieve it in the water
column. Naturally, you should reel a little faster to maintain a
level high in the water column, reel at a moderate speed to
keep the Spin Shad at mid-depths, and reel slowly to keep the
Spin Shad deep for the entire retrieve.
The Spin Shad’s heavy body has a wider belly than its back,
and that wide belly also helps to stabilize the Spin Shad at any
depth you retrieve it. So the body has a low center of gravity
that helps keep the bait running at your targeted depth in the
water column.
Go ahead and fish the Spin Shad in brush, reeds, tree roots,
rocks or tough grass. The head is wedge-shaped to push
through cover and the wide belly is designed to protect the
upper two hook points behind the wide front part of the head.
You may even clip the lower point off the treble hook and it will
be amazingly snagless now. Most days, there’s no difference
you’ll be able to tell in fish caught or hits missed using this
hook modification. You’ll be hooking fish and snagging less!
Other days, when fish are hitting short, you may move the
treble hook from underneath the belly to the split ring that
holds the blade. Rigged so the treble lies on the inner or
cupped side, the blade serves as a protective shield to help
keep the tail treble away from snags. Adding a treble has little
effect on the blade’s rotation, and you’ll catch many short
strikers this way.
Slender Eel
Slender Eel 126 SU 5" / 126mm 1/2 oz / 13.3g Suspending 2 to 3 ft 8 to 20 lb
The Slender Eel swims with a wide swaggering sweep of its
tail and suspends underwater with a nose down posture
when paused. When twitched, jerked or ripped, it really
comes to life with an erratic action!
Used by those who target spooky or highly-pressured
fish particularly in clear water, in both fresh and salt, the
Slender Eel is ideal for sight fishing for individual fish or
for spotting cautious schools at a distance and then
presenting the Slender Eel without alarming them.
Maintaining a comfortable distance from the quarry is often
necessary under such conditions, and the Slender Eel is
aerodynamically designed to go the distance and to let
you place it accurately and quietly where you want it.
This suspending lure is most effective when worked with
lots of pauses which means fish will eyeball it closely
before striking, so it better look good! The face shows
astonishing detail and the diving lip is unobtrusive;
almost anatomically correct. The angled shape of head,
neck and body help to achieve the balance and create
the actions of the Slender Eel.
The unique flattened tail of the Slender Eel gives it a planing
surface so it swings widely side to side with little water resistance
as it quickly and easily pivots on its center of balance,
making its movements truly irresistible to predators. It can
pivot as much as 180° when you jerk it. The flat tail is also the
easiest shape for a fish to engulf, so fish get hooked securely,
and few fish are lost.
One of the most reliable ways to use the Slender Eel is to cast
out, wait a spell, twitch it 3 or 4 times, and reel it in 10-12 feet.
Let it stop, jerk it 3 or 4 times again. The Slender Eel will dart
and shoot out suddenly to one side or the other when you
jerk or twitch it. Depending how you do that, it may either
act like a slow-moving, disoriented prey or like a panicked
baitfish bolting. Wait a spell and then reel it in 10-12 more
feet. Just keep repeating those simple steps. For some
reason, the fish mostly hit in the intervals it is paused and
suspends motionless. They hit less often during the time it
is being reeled in.
Natural Sardine
Beyond that simple explanation, there are infinite variations
that make fishing the Slender Eel a true art.
There's no right or wrong way to use it. Generally
speaking, with more active fish, you can jerk harder and
work faster with shorter pauses. Slower speeds, much
longer pauses and softer rod movements usually
coincide with less active fish or colder water temperatures.
In any case, the correct dart or jerk sequence
needs to be discovered and done just right, but remember
that is only the attraction. The hit is almost always gotten on
the pause. It’s a masterful angler who’s able to use the Slender
Eel’s built-in wiggle and the sudden darting jerk of the rod tip to
excite and attract, then using the perfectly suspended pause
that gets the strike!
Rattsler SL 85 3-1/4" / 85mm 1/2 oz / 12.5g Floating 10" to 1-1/2 ft 1-1/2 ft 6 to 16 lb
The Rattsler is a flat-sided crankbait having a thin, compressed
body but comparatively tall side profile. Truly the
Rattsler’s body shape and profile appears much more naturallooking
and lifelike than many other crankbaits.
Its huge side surfaces forcefully push water out and away,
creating a rippling trail of strong turbulence which is the most
important signal that predator fish follow with their lateral lines
in order to track and hunt moving prey.
The lure’s swimming movement can be considered tight and
frantic. There is a lot of side-to-side full body flipping and
flashing as the Rattsler paddles along, vigorously pushing a
lot of water out to the sides in the process.
All Rattslers come with a superior designed mass transfer
system. Most of the weight goes to the tail for long distance
casting, and the weights return to the mid-belly where the
heavy beads are baffled in a rattle chamber in order to
produce a fish-calling chatter and swimming action. The
chattering sound made by a swimming Rattsler is designed to
reproduce the collective sounds of a swimming shad school, a
natural noise that’s known to put predators in an excited
feeding mood.
The Medium Lip (ML) is voted most likely to be the Rattsler
Rattsler VLL 85 3-1/4" / 85mm 5/8 oz / 17.5g Floating < 10 ft < 20 ft 6 to 16 lb
The Rattsler Very Long Lip (VLL) is for casting or trolling in
fresh or inshore saltwater. It can be used with a variety of
trolling gear, weights or devices designed to extend the
lure's natural trolling depth.
VLL's are great for throwing good long casts too.
The smaller 65 VLL is especially effective around the outside
edges of deeper grass beds. With its smaller, thinner body and
hooks that are small (to avoid snagging) but strong, you can
burn and rip the 65 VLL through grass, reeling rapidly to
provoke instinctive reaction strikes. Try to make bottom
contact if possible or just barely tick the outside edges of the
grass. What you want to do is crank it down until you
bump the bottom and if it's grass, just kind of
jerk it out of there and get that reaction
strike that typically happens as it pops
free.
The 65 VLL can wiggle its tail through
submerged tree tops and deep brush beds that
would snag bulkier lures with bigger hooks. When it
does get hung in wood or brush, you can’t really rip it
out like in grass. However, the 65 VLL is a fast-riser so it may
float up quickly when you pause it, often rising free of whatever
had been impeding its forward progress.
In the above kinds of situations, the small 65 VLL is quite
capable of landing big fish when used with medium strength
line and rods necessary to handle big fish in thick grass or
other kinds of cover.
The 65 VLL is also suited for light tackle in open water. It is
ideal for trolling or casting on small waters, for smaller
gamefish, for spooky fish that refuse larger lures or when
faced with sparkling clear water conditions, the 65 VLL is
superb.
The larger 85 VLL gets down even deeper. The 85 VLL will bog
down in weeds, so it’s harder to rip it out. It is a comparatively
slow-riser. So it won’t float up out of wood or brush as easily.
Nevertheless there are days when fish want that 85 VLL
cranked right along deep grass edges or coming past deep
flooded brush, so you need to “snake” or “worm” the 85 VLL
through cover to make it work. You may see now that although
the 85 VLL and 65 VLL look similar (except for size), there
are key differences in how best to use them.
The fact it is a slow-riser when paused, that it tends
to stay down at the level it’s at, makes the 85 VLL a
stellar crank for bottom-bouncing relatively
open water structure like ledges, humps,
points, ridges, drop-offs, etc. There are
days when many strikes happen during
little lingering pauses or hesitations you
make in the action after the 85 VLL
stutters or skitters across high spots on deep structure.
Whenever you detect that the 85 VLL has hit a high spot, a
rock or raised obstruction on bottom, get ready for action! The
85 VLL reacts by canting over on its flat side as its long bill taptap-taps
its way sideways, skittering toward the side edge of
the obstruction. Many times it may never make it off the edge,
however. The instant before it does, a greedy predator may
decide it's the perfect time and place to pummel it!
Full Wire Reinforced. Also comes in Foam Filled Salt & Sun series.
The Splasher combines the actions of three conventional
topwater types - poppers, chuggers and walkers in one. The
Splasher has a huge, deep bowl of a mouth, a blaring trumpetshaped
head, a water-slicing “Power Keel” and a flattened
belly in order to skate and pivot more easily on the surface.
Although the head is large, the tail is thin and flat — the best
shape for a fish to engulf it and get hooked securely.
All Splasher sizes can be cast a tremendous distance and
can throw a huge splash for their size. When it sits in
the water, the head is raised so only 30% of it’s
mouth is in water. The other 70% of the flared
cup is above the surface where it can eject
huge mouthfuls of water. It has the possibility
to make a giant, drenching splash if you want
to let distant or deep fish know, “Hey, look at me.
I am over here! Now come get me!”
Using gentler rod actions, the Splasher can mimic a creature
that’s leisurely swimming and feeding on the surface, producing
a more subtle splashing, spitting or bubbling noise that
arouses predatorial interest.
Work the Splasher a little more aggressively, and it can imitate
the struggling, twisting, turning, distressed movements of a
vulnerable critter flailing furiously on the surface. It's not the
smooth, predictable, mechanical action like most other lures
have. Due to the unique compound curves of the Splasher’s
body, it mimics the panicked, struggling throes of a
creature in serious trouble.
If you want to create a zig-zaggy walk the dog
action, that’s easy to do with the Splasher too.
The proprietary “Power Keel” is the secret why
the Splasher will walk the dog perfectly when
you use a constant cadence of short, sharp rod
twitches with a slow retrieve.
The Splasher 120 and 152 are “Full Wire” reinforced. One
single piece of heavy stainless wire runs from the front eye to
the tail eye along the belly, forming the belly hook hanger too.
By now you may be thinking that the Splasher is a must-have
Stick Shadd
“These are the ones I would keep if I could only have one lure
type in my tackle box!” says Patrick Sebile. “The Stick Shadd
can really be a huge asset in many situations. You just have to
try it and of course to learn it, and then I really think you can fall
in love with it.”
The Floating works just below the surface, often slightly
breaking the water during a twitched retrieve. The Suspending
darts a few feet down when jerked along and hovers enticingly
when paused. The Sinking rocks as it falls and can be counted
down to a desirable depth.
“The Sinking models are perhaps the most versatile overall,
because they can be used at any depth from top to deep, but of
course it depends on the situation and what depth you’re
targeting whether the FL, SU, SK or FSK model best fits the
conditions,” says Patrick Sebile.
The Stick Shadd has a thin keel that runs the length of the lure,
and the power of that keel (the “Power Keel”) activates the
Stick Shadd, allowing the bait to move more freely and
unpredictably in every direction, left, right, up and down.
Using quick, crisp snaps is one of the overall best ways to use
it. Predators will often hit the Stick Shadd because of the
super-erratic action it has when snapped. You never know
what it is going to do next. The Stick Shadd may go two feet to
one side, and next it will go one foot to the same side, then all
of a sudden, shoot a little higher up or dart down.It never looks
like anything that is predictable. It’s all over the place. They
really think this is the real deal, and they better grab it now or
they won't be able to grab it at all.
Indeed, that type of action causes strike-triggering results with
any predator species, big or small, and there are Stick Shadd
sizes for them all.
Another technique is to use long pulls and pauses. The Stick
Shadd even has action on a steady troll or straight retrieve, it
has a side-to-side swagger, and that's not all.The Sinking and
Fast-Sinking models vibrate and wobble as they fall, attracting
strikes even when the angler isn’t working them, they work
themselves!
Master the versatile uses, models and actions of the mighty
Stick Shadd. It’s not hard to do, and it may soon become your
personal favorite bait too.
Simply stated, the SEBILE Flats Jighead has no equal. The
super-sharp hook is built to Japanese premium hook style
standards and is 20% stronger than any other jig hook
and
44% stronger than the average.
Its extreme strength makes the Flats Jighead ideal for salt and
freshwater brutes, including some of the biggest, baddest
battlers on the planet — tarpon, jacks, snapper, reds, snook,
striped bass, salmon, pike, trophy largemouth, smallmouth,
monster peacock bass, barramundi and many others.
Flats Jigheads come in a multitude of weights, hook sizes and
shank lengths to fit all baits and fishing needs. They may be
used in conjunction with both natural baits and literally any soft
baits made.
The jig’s unique design has a high center of gravity to give
natural baits, soft swimbaits and soft plastics, including the
SEBILE Stick Shadd Hollow, an erratic baitfish-like action.
The head’s flat front provides more water resistance for a
slower descent.
Each head is marked with hook size and weight for easy
identification.
The three segment collar holds baits firmly in place.
Truly the SEBILE Flats Jighead is a most excellent choice for
use with the Stick Shadd Hollow because the jig head’s unique
shape helps add to the action of the soft plastic lure and the
head’s bait-holding collars keep the body snugly in place.
The Stick Shadd Hollow is also great to skip-cast with the Flats
Jighead so it shoots way back beneath docks, under
boathouses and penetrates the shady lairs where big ones
live under overhanging trees and brush hanging out over the
water.
The photo above shows the high quality and value you get with
SEBILE products. This Flats Jighead has caught 50 redfish
and several tarpon. It still has its paint, the printing is clearly
readable, and the hook is as sharp as ever.
The new Stick Shadd Hollow has all the features, actions and
benefits of the regular Stick Shadd hardbait, PLUS all the
additional benefits of a soft body which gives even more
advantages to the angler, such as snagless rigging to fish right
in the heart of thick cover where the big ones hide.
As with the regular Stick Shadd hardbait, the soft version also
has a very compact profile and shape of a real fish. Its aerodynamic
shape allows the longest distance casts possible even
in the wind. Small twitches, jerks or even reeling it in straight,
provides the amazing and unpredictable swimming, jerking,
darting and sliding action that brings this bait to life thanks to
SEBILE’s unique “Power Keel” design underneath the bait.
To rig weedless, use the SEBILE Soft Weight System for best
results and for easy addition and removal of weight. Insert the
hook through the bait’s nose, come out under the chin and add
the special Tungsten weights before inserting the hook into
the belly. When rigged properly, the hook point ends up
protected inside the lures’body.
The SEBILE Soft Weight System lets you change the way the
lure will descend so if you have the weights positioned toward
the front, it will dive head first. If you have the weight toward the
belly, it sinks more slowly and horizontally as it kind of floats
softly on its body. You may even put the weights on the bend of
the hook, therefore inside the body and then the lure will have
an ultra-slow descent which really looks a lot like a dying
baitfish where you can simply twitch it a couple of times and let
it sink for several seconds or more before you twitch it again.
The lure can also be fished on a jig head such as the SEBILE
Flats Jighead. Also excels on a drop-shot rig, wacky style and
even on a fireball or bluefish rig.
This streamlined bait’s shape makes it a great choice for
skipping under docks, mangroves and other overhanging
obstacles. The ratio between the weight, length and shape of
the body is simply the best combination for skipping incredibly
far back underneath anything.
Vibrato #84 3 oz / 84g Sinking < 10 ft < 200 ft 20 to 50 lb
Introducing the Vibrato — a totally unique new lure concept by
SEBILE.
As its name implies, the Vibrato has a natural vibrating action.
But unlike any other vibrating lure it vibrates on the fall, when
jigged, twitched, retrieved steadily or trolled in any way and at
any speed!
The unique constant vibration is due to the design of its body
being deeply compressed with a wider belly and a thinner
back, thus causing it to vibrate regardless of how it is being
fished.
The heavy Vibrato is primarily designed for vertical fishing and
trolling, although theVibrato is equally effective when cast and
retrieved from shore or boat, slow jigged or fished through the
ice.
The Vibrato has a natural baitfish shape that attracts all fresh
and saltwater predators.
The Vibrato has one treble hook on each end of this realistic
baitfish look-alike. You will appreciate the added benefit of
having two treble hooks when fish are biting lightly, especially
when fishing deep. You may replace the hooks if you need to
switch to a size or strength that’s more ideally suited to your
gear, to the conditions or the fish you are after. However, the
hooks must be the same on each end of the lure to get the
balance that creates the action.
A full wire runs through the length of its body, connecting both
hooks and the line tie, assuring a solid and secure connection
between you and the trophy fish of your dreams.
When the lure is dropped on a slack line, the Vibrato falls with
an erratic motion. Even on the fall, the bait’s vibrations are so
strong that they can be felt throughout the lure’s descent if you
thumb the spool lightly. Those same vibrations are spreading
out into the water as it descends, leaving a trail of vibratory
attraction fanning out throughout the water column! It’s like
chumming the water but with vibration.
When it reaches bottom or whatever mid-depth you wish to
target, as soon as the slightest jigging motion is made with the
rod, this responsive lure reacts immediately. It vibrates from
even the smallest tug or lightest tension on the line. Fish it fast
or slow, pull it up and drop it down, or leave it hanging suspended
in the strike zone long enough to make even the most
finicky fish finally take the bait.
Best of all, the Vibrato is a jig that won’t wear your arm out by
pulling hard on the rod all day long to make it work! Thanks to
its unique equilibrium balance, the Vibrato reacts and has
action and vibration as soon as you simply pull on the rod tip,
even slow or small rod movements activate the Vibrato. All
predators absolutely love that exciting yet easy-to-catch
action, and with this unique lure, using only a small fraction of
the effort, you can out-produce others lures which need a fast
speed retrieve or a shoulder-wrenching stroke to trigger
attacks.
Yet it’s not just a vertical fishing lure, it’s equally effective as a
casting lure and it’s devastating trolled as well. Fish it any way
you want to, at any depth, any speed, and it will surely catch
every predator fish you care to target in fresh or saltwater.
Shallow Spoon
Model
Weight Type Level Line Test
Shallow Spoon #1 5/16 oz / 9g Sinking 2" to 8" 6 to 20 lb
The Shallow Spoon is a very unique little lure. One goal of this
lure was to have a very small, compact spoon that is exceptionally
heavy for its size to permit long yet accurate casting.
We addressed this by creating a unique proprietary alloy
mixture of heavy metals, resulting in a compact size of only
one inch, but heavy weight of 5/16 oz (9 g).
While being heavy, the goal was also to have this lure be able
to stay quite shallow. To achieve these ordinarily contradictory
qualities, the complex surface beneath the tail is a hydrofoil
designed to aid in lifting the heavy body, allowing use of
turbulence rolling under its shape to keep the spoon shallow
yet still maintain its very beautiful and wonderful swimming
action. So even if it is heavy, it is still possible to fish only a few
inches deep!
This shallow-riding spoon is not just for shallow water however.
It may be used to fish close to the surface
even in deep water. Many times you can
have schools of small baitfish clustered
on the surface and the gamefish must
chase them there, so it is important your lure
can stay near the surface. Under these conditions, the
case is often fast-moving schools of predators feeding on the
baitfish. One never knows where the gamefish will pop up
next, so it is important that your lure is a heavy one that casts
far, quickly and precisely. The Shallow Spoon meets all these
goals.
It has a lot of other great uses as well. On the drop, it has a
rocking, fluttering irresistible sinking action that makes it great
for vertical jigging. You can ice fish with it or do any kind of
vertical jigging within the depth range that's appropriately
suited to its size and weight.
It is also dynamite as a live bait delivery system. You can hook
a natural bait like a shrimp, a strip of squid, a thin pork rind on
it, and the Shallow Spoon makes a wonderful kind of a jig head
used this way. Even a thin, supple soft artificial lure may be
48
Shallow Spoon #1
Blue Shad
BS
used as a trailer on the hook, and it won’t seriously affect the
swimming or rocking action of the spoon.
Thanks to the precise weighting of the body, even with a
natural or artificial bait hooked on it, the Shallow Spoon
always comes to rest on the bottom with the hook upright. The
body shape is wide and flat, so even if the bottom is soft
or muddy, the Shallow Spoon will rest on top of
mud or soft sediment. If it was a regular jig
head for the same weight, it would sink into a
soft bottom, but thanks to the shape of this lure,
it will sit on top of the mud or even perch on top of grass,
and present the bait at the right place.
It is made with a weedless wireguard system. If you want to go
fishing in brush or grass or rocks, then it really is very snagless
and comes through all kinds of snaggy situations quite well.Of
course if you are fishing open water, you may permanently
remove the wireguard with no ill effects to the spoon or its
action.
Although it is a small lure, a relatively big single hook is
molded inside the compact body. So it can catch small fish
which go for its small size, but even if you hook a mighty large
fish, you should have no worries with the formidable hook that
can easily handle bigger, stronger brutes that go for this
unique little lure.
Salt & Sun Series
Full wire reinforced - Extra strong hooks & rings - Foam filled
The SEBILE SALT & SUN series is the achievement by Patrick Sebile, based on years of worldwide trophy
fishing, that solves the problems sportsmen have many times while fighting very big fish. The fact is our
strong opponents can free themselves at times because they can break the body of a conventional hard
lure, open its hooks or tear out the internal rigging because these parts are not strong enough to handle
such fighting pressures. To top it off, some predators have such sharp or cutting teeth they can go right
through most lures. THE SEBILE SALT & SUN series is dedicated to catching these big game fish. These
lures have reinforced bodies, the hooks used are chosen because they're the strongest ones available, the
split rings are super heavy duty to protect against opening, and the hard plastic body itself is filled with foam.
This is what makes your SEBILE Salt & Sun lures worthy of the most ferocious adversary, and even hard
toothy bites don't destroy these lures - the Salt & Sun series will resist, endure and catch even more big fish!
Trophy hunters, here are your lures! With the creation of Salt & Sun series, Patrick Sebile has taken what
he's learned from many years of battling and landing IGFA quality monsters, and he's designed a lure series
that can stand up to the toughest fish!
When fishing for brutes and trophies, only the best will last and give you the chance to land the monster you
were fighting with. This is the reason SEBILE has chosen to produce the Salt & Sun series lures ready to fish
with the strongest hooks.
No component of a lure can be weak if you target an ultra strong adversary like tuna, giant trevally, cubera
snapper, cobia, roosterfish or giant tarpon. Therefore our split rings are ultra strong!
All Full Wire lures have a double piece of wire that is welded to insure you the strongest resistance a lure can
give you.Note:Only the Flatt Shad 124 is not full wire.
Some predators have teeth as strong as steel and razor sharp. They can tear through and puncture even the
strongest lures. Usually this means you retire that brave warrior with a great memory but we have a better
solution! Our foam-filled lures will survive to catch another monster even after a brutal attack that would
destroy most other lures!
New for 2011! You’ll find seven new sizes on the following pages, that
take our commitment to landing big fish even further. These new sizes
are the very largest ones in the Salt & Sun series now, and all the hooks
and eyes are solidly connected on one head-to-tail steel plate inside
the body, and feature advanced ultra-rigging of superstrong new
hooks, some custom-made by Patrick Sebile, along with new custommade
monster swivels and mega-components.
The new, ultra-rigged sizes for 2011 cover all your trophy needs, from
top to deep, casting, slow to high speed trolling clocked at up to 22 mph
(knots) with the new Bonga Jerk 215 — the fastest trolling hard bait in
the industry! Not to mention the new Koolie Minnow Long Lip 240, the
deepest diver on the seven seas! Plus five other new sizes for 2011
including the Flatt Shad XH 155 and 215, the Stick Shadd 210 FL and
SK, and the monster Splasher 240, all with stainless steel plate internal
construction that defies destruction!
of water to make it very noticeable from afar, and its presence seems to appear as a bigger prey. It is
very easy and efficient to work and really doesn’t tire you out as some others big topwaters.
Easy to cast and since it is streamlined at the tail end, its shape is easily swallowed by fish, so few
fish are lost.
This lipless deep-bodied shad moves through the water with incredible agility and lifelike action. Thanks to
its integral “Power Keel”, this bait works beautifully when trolled, shifting from side to side in a rhythmic
dance. It is a great bait when trolled straight with a flat line, with outriggers, or used as a downrigger lure, at
any speed you need from slow to medium to ultra fast, depending on the fish you target. Its “Full Wire”
assembly withstands the most brutal attacks from big fish.Great lure for spinning and casting too.
New for 2011! The Bonga Jerk 215 brings a new dimension to seagoing lures. This is a true king-sized
lure dedicated to the largest ocean predators.Able to be trolled up to 22 knots with a flat low line, this bait
is usable at any speed. Its swimming action moves a lot of water thanks to its Power Keel, making it an
easy target recognizable from long distance in bluewater. Extra reinforced thanks to an internal stainless
steel metal plate that connects the hooks and eye with huge, single wide open hooks mounted on
heavy duty ball bearing swivels so fish can’t get leverage during the fight.
The Koolie Minnow BRL has a round and very broad lip to create a tremendous wobble and fluid swimming
action as it is slow trolled or retrieved. Particularly unique and effective at enticing stubborn fish to strike is
the ability for this lure to move upward and gently flick the surface with its lip when the retrieve is quickened.
The rolling wobble accentuates the visibility of the lure, which gets an added visual effect from its profile.
This alternating view of back and belly is exciting to gamefish and often draws them from greater depths and
distances.Truthfully, there is no other lure in the world with the action of the Koolie Minnow Big Round Lip!
The Koolie Minnow LL S&S is designed with the unique capacity to dive to depths that other lures of its kind
can’t reach. The design of its strong, wire-reinforced lip allows a steep dive and an easy retrieve in comparison
to other baits of its kind. Since the unique bridged lip is extended away from the body, it uses the entire
surface area and dives more efficiently as well as providing much less resistance on the troll or retrieve than
any other baits, permitting you to reach fish that can’t be reached with conventional lures. No other lure can
master the depths with this enticingly wide wobble and ease of retrieve. It’s our must-have deep diver trolling
bait. You may optimize the diving depth like designer Patrick Sebile does by using braided line instead of
monofilament. Also, fishing a wide range of depths is as easy as using a shorter or longer length of line while
trolling.
New for 2011! The new Koolie Minnow Long Lip 240 is the deepest diver on the seven seas! Thanks to
its humped back, flattened belly and bridged lip, it pulls less on the rod than other deep divers that only
reach half its diving depth. So you can troll it deep, really deep, deeper than ever before without the rodstraining
hassle where you must set the drag almost to the maximum to be able to troll it. The body is
reinforced with an internal stainless steel metal plate that connects the hooks and eye, along with
monstrous wide open hooks mounted on ball bearing swivels. A must have for deep blue water trolling
as well as for all trophy gamefish anywhere in salt and freshwater.
The rounded, deep profile of the Flatt Shad
produces excited, hyperactive movements to
give this lure an intense, powerful swimming action.
The vibration from this lure is incredible, extending the
strike zone and neutralizing adverse conditions like chop and
current, meaning that the turbulence and vibrations emitted by this lure
are louder than and broadcast its presence more strongly to predators in every direction, regardless of the
background noise of wind, waves and current around it. Perfect for any conditions so you may troll it, cast it or
jig it at any speed from slow to fast.
The 124 size has one unique feature: this lure is the only one in the S&S range that isn’t full-wire reinforced
although still very strong thanks to ultrasonic welding, making it is the best choice when you need to use an
undersized lure for finicky fish or predators targeting small prey! That makes it a must-have in your tackle box.
New for 2011! The new 155 and 215 sizes were expressly made to target the world’s biggest bluewater
and freshwater game fishes. Always a high vibration bait, these monster Flatt Shads create so much
turmoil in the water while trolled or jigged that they attract predators from far away.No need to troll fast to
get the best action from them, which save gas and increases results as well. The swimming action is so
powerful that it is not recommended to use too light a rod and line. The 155 can also be cast with a strong
rod; like the 124, it is equipped with two extra strong treble hooks. Note the 215 size comes with heavy
duty ball bearing mounted single wide gap hooks to eliminate leverage while fighting large, twisting fish.
Both the 155 and 215 have a steel cut sheet that connects hooks and eye for unlimited internal power to
withstand the worst battles.
The 100% pure fish catching machine, the
Stick Shadd is a winner. This great
casting and trolling bait is Patrick
Sebile’s personal favorite. Its distinctive
design creates an erratic, unforeseen behavior
with furious movement in every direction. Each
model operates according to its particular designed depth.
The Floating models float just below the surface, often breaking
the water intermittently during a twitched retrieve. The Sinking
models vibrate back and forth as they drift through the depths
while being counted down to a desirable level at which you may easily work one back with sharp, short
twitches and jerks of the rod. Add other actions as desired to suit the moment! The Stick Shadd is full of life
and draws strikes when no other lure can!
New for 2011! The Stick Shadd is one of the most popular lures in the SEBILE range, and the overall
favorite lure of Patrick Sebile. So it was only logical to upgrade the range to a new 210 size level to target
the big mean ones. Tested on the coral-encrusted length of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef by Patrick
Sebile and the legendary Nomad Team, the 210mm monsters have proven exceptional results on every
kind of game fish from shallow reefs to open bluewater.Coming in Floating and Sinking versions permits
you to choose the one that fits the conditions best. This new size possesses all the action and benefits of
smaller sizes, plus it has a steel cut sheet from nose to tail, connecting the hooks to make it tough as
possible. Rigged with two extra heavy reinforced treble hooks, they may be replaced by single hooks
without altering the action of the lure. Just pick single hooks of the same weight as the trebles being
replaced. This is the way it works for replacing hooks as well on any other SEBILE lure - replace hooks
with ones of the same weight to preserve the action. We designed the Stick Shadd 210 FL and SK to be
mostly used for spinning and casting, but they also work very well indeed for trolling.
Splasher 240 S&S 9-1/2" / 240mm 12 oz / 338g Floating Topwater 80 to 130 lb
The unique Splasher’s cupped mouth was created to make as much noise as possible and to eject tons of
water to attract fish from afar or from deep down! The lure’s wide open mouth can create a real ruckus on
top. It’s capable of launching large volumes of water when necessary to do that. Using a softer stroke
creates a more subtle “pop” and small twitches give it a mesmerizing walking action that throws water back
and forth. The shape and design of this lure makes for easy long casting but also can be used for trolling.
Never duplicated, the Splasher is a must-have to give you a unique advantage for catching a wide variety of
species on top.
New for 2011! Dedicated to the very large predators, the Splasher 240 is a class of lure unto itself. It
moves water as no other bait on the deep blue sea.The result is it attracts game fish from a long distance
AND very deep. Testing in Panama and Australia proved this was the lure that fish would hit the most
when several lures were used at the same time on the same boat.Trophy specialist Olivier Charpentier’s
fishfinder was showing large cubera snapper and tuna coming from as deep as 120 feet to attack this
lure on top! This is definitely NOT a typical lure. You must use the right rod, reel and line to be able to use
this massive lure correctly and land the huge fish it will attract. Its mouth pushes so much water it looks
like a GT (giant trevally) just attacked on top, so don’t be fooled by the explosion you make when pulling
on the rod! Also, it has an undulating, easy, walk-the-dog action that finesses strikes from finicky fish. A
cut metal sheet inside connects the hooks and eye. Heavy duty ball bearing swivels and extra heavy
10/0 trebles arm this lure to handle all! It is also possible to replace the trebles with single hooks, rigging
one in front of the head only, or one in front and one on the tail, depending how the fish are biting.
Many anglers don’t use snaps because there never really was
a very good one.Now there is!
Sudden opportunities often arise to catch a fish on a lure other
than the one attached. Unfortunately, it may take too long to
retie and the opportunity can be lost. That’s why Patrick Sebile
felt the need for SEBILE Game Snaps. He desired to be able
to change lures quickly, yet he was not happy with the snaps
on the market. Fishing everywhere for every kind of species
under all fishing conditions, Patrick determined that a range of
snaps were needed to perfectly cover all situations:
1. Light Game Snaps. Egg-shaped. For light line fishing,
very small to small lures with subtle action that may be
stifled by too heavy a snap.Fish lifted by hand or net.
2. Medium Game Snaps. This is the model that will meet
most situations and fishing needs. Egg-shaped medium
wire with safety locking clasp. For small to big lures. For
light to strong lines and leaders.
3. Power Game Snaps. Reserved for the strongest fish. For
medium to extra large lures, strong to extra heavy lines,
perfect for all big game fish in fresh and saltwater.
Elongated shape, heavy interlocking wire.
Patrick Sebile’s experience has proven to him that a snap’s
strength or resistance needs to be about three times stronger
than the line test because the pressure put on a snap during
an extended fight will slowly but surely cause permanent
deformation of the snap. However, when you simply need to
handline a leader to stop a fish or boat it, a short, quick, high
tension like that is much easier for a snap to resist. So it is
important you choose the right snap based on the use you
plan to make of it and the fish you are after. With the right
match between line/leader and snap, according to the chart
shown, you will be able to fight any fish and have short to
extremely long fights while being able to feel cool, confident
and connected all the time.
To use a snap, in most cases, you don’t need to also use the
nose split ring that comes with a lure. The snap itself will
provide full freedom of movement to the lure.
Routinely check your line and snap after landing several fish
or a big one, and don’t hesitate to replace a snap when the
shape appears to have deformed from fighting fish or if a fish
bit down on it. Also, bending it back too much to open it may
result in deformation of the snap, leading to wrong closing
position or loss of strength. Follow these simple guidelines to
enjoy fishing with super strong SEBILE Game Snaps.
The SEBILE split rings are the same
ones that come standard on each
SEBILE hard bait. They are specified and
selected by Patrick Sebile for their long-lasting reliability. Size
to size, they are amongst the strongest on the market, with a
high resistance against pull and against opening. The stainless
steel selected for these rings is properly forged for an
even increased resistance and ability to endure, plus they are
rustproof. You may replace existing split rings on any lure you
have by matching the actual size.If you desire to upgrade your
bait so it has extra resistance, you may step up to a little larger
SEBILE split ring. The wide range of SEBILE split ring sizes
permits you to meet all of your lure needs, from light tackle
lures to bluewater fishing.
