Memorial
Not all rubbings have to be made from
book covers.
I was commissioned by the Town of
Hamburg to create a memorial for a very
special woman. She had been a collector
of funeral art and I thought to remember
her with traditional weeping willow trees.
I cut out small pieces of cardboard and
glued them onto a base to make a raised
image that I could use to make a rubbing.
The border and the letters were all done
the same way.
I printed onto many colors of fabric with
black ink to make this memorial.
It is machine quilted.
