Consistently multifaceted<br />

The design objectives for contemporary task luminaires are to maximise all<br />

the following: investment profitability, cost-effectiveness in use, light output<br />

ratios, contribution towards meeting green building and sustainability requirements,<br />

flexibility in terms of functional layout and unobtrusiveness in<br />

the room. The luminaire’s subtly rounded vertical edges contrast with the<br />

sharp-edged precision of its horizontal edges; the white coloured housing<br />

suggests the desire to dematerialise functions and dissolve the boundaries<br />

between space and the luminaire’s technical functional components.<br />

Pendant An extra wide light distribution curve ensures<br />

maximum efficiency and optimum lighting quality.<br />

Work surfaces are uniformly brightened without any<br />

losses. Wide-angle light distribution provides vertical<br />

illuminance to ensure bright walls and an agreeable<br />

room ambience. The pendant luminaire with a louvre<br />

optic only needs 1.95 to 2.5 W to illuminate one square<br />

metre at 100 lux, depending on the lamp fitted.<br />

Mounted directly on ceiling Even though <strong>ELEEA</strong><br />

only needs a suspension height of just 15 cm to produce<br />

uniform indirect light, there are some rooms and situations<br />

where space is too cramped for the luminaire to be<br />

suspended. A surface-mounted version of the luminaire<br />

with two kinds of optics is available so it is possible to<br />

possibilities thanks to a whole raft of disparate light<br />

sources which can be switched and dimmed independently<br />

of each other. LEDs illuminate ceilings and walls<br />

indirectly while fluorescent lamps exploit their ability<br />

to deliver powerful direct light to full effect. Each user<br />

stylistic idiom, it blends seamlessly into modern architecture. Both joints<br />

and connectors are white in colour. The H-connector acts as a link and<br />

also fits harmoniously into the overall appearance; it masterfully merges<br />

two luminaire units into a single straight continuous-row system and<br />

maximises the available light exit surface area.<br />

The interior design possibilities opened up by <strong>ELEEA</strong> are just as varied as<br />

the luminaire’s geometrical configurations. The 90° connector enables<br />

exciting configurations that include gentle swerves around corners. Various<br />

shapes can be achieved successfully using the elegant L-connector<br />

which makes connections using just a narrow bridge.

Ceiling design<br />

Ceiling rose If design extends beyond the luminaire, even the ceiling<br />

rose becomes a stylistic element. The ceiling rose which was specially<br />

developed for <strong>ELEEA</strong> is a functional detail that reflects a consistently<br />

designed luminaire product line. It uses the same design vocabulary<br />

and combines it with a high level of functionality. Beautifully simple and<br />

simply beautiful.<br />

Louvre technology The extremely flat louvre is designed as a two-piece<br />

component, i.e. the upper part of the louvre (upper reflector) is separate<br />

from the louvre. Slender blades ensure high efficiency and an elegant<br />

appearance. The high-grade louvre material (highly reflective Miro) is folded<br />

over on the visible side to complete the modern look.<br />

Close-offset ceiling brightening <strong>ELEEA</strong> achieves this feat thanks<br />

to an innovative patented upper-reflector and cross-reflector system.<br />

The perforated upper reflector directs 25 % of the light onto the ceiling.<br />

The cross reflector makes sure that ceiling illumination is wide-area and<br />

homogeneous, even with extremely shallow suspension heights.


Suspension height can be reduced to just 15 cm<br />

Cord suspension The tried-and-tested Y-suspension fitting used in<br />

<strong>ELEEA</strong> is a practical installation element and also levels the luminaire<br />

accurately. The adjustable Ypsilon fitting is built into the luminaire’s end<br />

cap. There is also a single extra-slender steel cord which adds a perfect<br />

flourish to <strong>ELEEA</strong>’s elegant appearance.<br />

A minimum cord length of 15 cm is sufficient to obtain uniform indirect<br />

ceiling brightening. The perforated upper reflector allows light reduction<br />

in order to obtain 25/75 distribution. The cross reflector directs indirect<br />

light to provide an extremely wide-angle distribution so that homogeneous<br />

illumination is possible even with extremely shallow suspension heights.<br />

DIMMING AND SAVING<br />

Cutting costs and protecting the environment<br />

Economy and ecology go hand in hand with <strong>ELEEA</strong>. The luminaires<br />

are fitted with latest-generation ballasts as standard as part of<br />

Zumtobel’s dim²save energy-saving initiative. These dim²save ballasts<br />

were developed to minimise power consumption without having to pay<br />

high investment costs. The equally simple option of connecting luminaires<br />

to sensors, thereby exploiting the potential savings achieved by<br />

automation at relatively little expense, is the perfect accompaniment to<br />

these luminaires.<br />

Even simple, manual dimming cuts energy consumption by 30 % compared<br />
