News Around the Center

• In May we helped Marilyn McKinnon celebrate her

retirement after 16 years with Apex Park and Recreation

District, the last twelve serving as the administrative

assistant for the Community Recreation Center.

Marilyn took care to register our many participants

for classes, and was a great mentor for our front desk

volunteers. We miss her dearly, but wish her a welldeserved

and relaxing retirement.

• Also in May we welcomed Brook-Lyn Kuhnle as

administrative assistant to our staff. Brook-Lyn is a

familiar face around Apex PRD, as she interned for

the District in 2008 and has served in several positions

since then at the Apex Center, most recently in Guest

Services. Brook-Lyn brings her warm southern personality

and lots of experience with customer service.

• The Arvada Sunrise Rotary Club honors a different

senior hero every other month. Congratulations to recent

recipients Pat DeVorss, Edna Graham and Evelyn

Burchell for their service to the Center and community.

•Help the district go green! To save cost and paper,

Apex PRD emails a monthly newsletter. Give us your

e-mail address to receive these, or visit apexprd.org

and subscribe to the newsletter on the lower right corner

of our home page. The CRC staff also have several

event specific e-lists (i.e. Concerts, Craft Fair, Hiking,

Snowshoe…) that we encourage you to submit your email

for, if you are interested. We do not sell or share

your information with anyone.
