Recording Magazine Writes: "I was hearing
spatial information and midrange details that had
previously escaped notice. Ambiences came across with
stunning realism and a 3-dimensional vision that
conveyed actual or synthesized soundstages with
unmistakable clarity. Imaging, especially front-to-back
placement, was more stable and vivid than any monitor
remotely near this price I have ever heard. In short, these
Truth Audio TA-1P monitors sound fantastic." REVIEW
"Although I have produced many great
records the Truth TA-1Ps reminded me
of many flaws in my mixes that could
have been perfected only if I had a pair of
these when I worked on these projects.
This could be a project saving tool for all
studios to own."
Audio Media Writes: Bass: Warm and well
balanced: even in the extreme lows the bottom was well
balanced Kick Drum: Meaty and well defined: there was a
nice punch to the transient peak and the ‘point’ was well
defined. Snare: Snappy and in your face: the TA-1Ps
shine on transients. Crunch Guitar: Great! The mid-range
details I spoke of above are in evidence here. Even with a
lot of guitar-cabinet speaker compression, the individual
detail sounded great on clean guitars. Acoustic Guitars:
Nice highs and good detail. Vocal: Airy with good balance
and detail. Drums: Very good; the lower toms could be
tubby but not on every example. Synth Pads: Lush with good air. Percussion:
Good transients and definition. Cymbals: Nice airy details and transients.
Michael Deni Responds About his Truth Monitors
"Hi Shannon, Happy Holidays. I have had the TA-1Ps for a couple days now.
I've logged about 5 hours on them so far. I have been reluctant to review them
to the other Studio Owner/Engineers I am affiliated with simply because I want
to add credibility to when I tell them how these things Truth-fully kick ass. Up
until now I have been lied to or brutalized by every nearfield monitor I have
worked with. A wise man once said, "The Truth will set you free." :) As I keep
logging time on these it is as if I am waiting to reveal a flaw or a compensation
point. I still can't rule out finding something like that simply because I haven't
used them in enough situations, but so far the have exceeded my
expectations. One thing really nice to me is now having the ability to detect low
frequency rumble or to run accurate High-pass filters. I presently do not mix
with a sub-woofer. My mixes always made trips back to the board after hearing
them on 5.1/7.1 systems. After my preliminary translation tests, I am predicting
hours of time saved simply because how well the TA-1Ps translate. I will add
that just because a NF monitor is accurate doesn't mean they won't make you
jump out of a window if you listen to them too long. Usually the trade off for a
warm sound is a hyped speaker. Not with the Truth. I look forward to your
success." Michael Deni /Deni Digital
"I have never heard this much low end generated by
a nearfield. I visited your booth four times during the
NAAM Show and brought someone back with to hear
these things every time. The lows are balanced
perfectly with the mids and highs and the cabinets
are very non-fatiguing. I don’t know how you did it but
these things sound incredible."
to hear if the mix that you just did in your million
dollar recording studio is truly GREAT. The TA-1P's
make accuracy in mixing a reality. (nice slogan, huh)
I'm also using a Hafler Transnova 9505 power amp. I'll be switching over to a
Krell 300 soon. If you have another suggestion, I'd like to know. Thanks. By
the way, check out Destiny's Child newest album, Survivor. I have one song,
"Out performs any initial expectations.
The TA-1P Close Field blows me away.
Blind folded I would swear these were
dual 8-inch drivers. Truth has something
going on with these speakers. Every time
I listen to them I get something from them
that I don’t seem to get from anything
else. Everything I left with from my
sessions translated perfectly!"
Review By Rob Shrock
“Considering that that I can work long hours as well as
create good mixes on the Truth Audio TA-1Ps, I consider
these monitors to be both an asset and a bargain.
Although I believe in multiple monitoring setups for critical
mixing, I would have no problem working with the TA-1Ps
alone. The designers have hit their mark: the TA-1Ps
reveal the truth in your mixes without tiring your ears in
the process.” [Complete Review]
"When I first listened to the TA-1Ps, I was instantly hit with
details I had not heard before, particularly in the vocal and
acoustic guitar ranges. Mind you, some of the details
showed some errors I had made on my guitar but I was pleased to hear them
before final mixdown. The
TA-1Ps are strongest in the mid-range with very clear and precise imaging and
defined discrete separation of different instruments in the recording."
