Estimates of the extent of the influence of radial flow from the river are estimated at 50 m (based on half of the saturated thickness for the aquifer (100m). An approximation of flow from the aquifer to the river may be based upon the Thiem equation ,divided by 2, if the radius of the stream (as a semi-circle) is less than the saturated thickness of the aquifer.
