Friday afternoon – moving tables and chairs<br />

Saturday morning – setting up including erection of marquees and<br />

gazebos<br />

Saturday afternoon – help on stalls and with games and attractions<br />

Saturday after fete – re-arranging site before the evening BBQ<br />

Sunday morning – final clear up and removal of all items<br />

<strong>Piddle</strong>trenthide Village Meeting<br />

The annual village meeting will be held at the Memorial Hall, <strong>Piddle</strong>trenthide<br />

on Tuesday 15 th May 2012 at 7.30pm. The new Localism Bill gives residents<br />

the power to shape development within the village and will be a major item<br />

on the agenda. Please do come along to the meeting to learn more about<br />

this and to discuss any other matters relating to village life.<br />

National Gardens Scheme at Ivy House<br />

Our first two ‘openings’ for 2012 demonstrated just how capricious our<br />

Spring weather can be. At 23C, March 25 th was the hottest opening we’ve<br />

ever experienced so early in the year. Visitors who arrived in shorts and Tshirts<br />

seemed over-dressed and scaling the dizzy heights to the garden-top<br />

summerhouse brought on near sunstroke. By contrast, just two weeks later,<br />

on April 9 th , a midday hailstorm was followed by severe windy weather and<br />

driving rain. One elderly grandmother, abandoned by her family as they
