When we opened in 1984, our intent was to bring you all<br />
the good things about the South we are passionate about - genuine<br />
southern hospitality, food authentically prepared from recipes passed<br />
generation to generation, celebrating the South's many global<br />
influences and the best that the land and farmer have to offer.<br />
is more than just another restaurant, we celebrate Southern<br />
food you’ll crave and offer a table where everyone is welcome, served<br />
with care and regard.<br />
Everything on our menu is prepared by us. Our straight forward<br />
recipes are made from scratch and simply presented - BBQ sauce,<br />
seasoned cornmeal for our Catfish, Collard Greens, Hushpuppies,<br />
Fried Green Tomatoes, Peach Cobbler... We smoke our meats over<br />
hickory wood and we don't take short cuts on quality. Whenever<br />
possible, we buy directly from Southern hands: country hams, Dixie<br />
Beer, Texas Pete Hot Sauce and make every effort to source locally<br />
grown products.<br />
Our only care is that you leave our table feeling thrilled with our<br />
hospitality and the joy of a great meal. We want to be your dining<br />
tradition with family and friends.<br />
We take seriously our role in the communities we serve by donating<br />
our food and services regularly, hosting fundraisers and "Our Shell<br />
Out for Charity" program described within this menu.<br />
