About Nuffield Health
Nuffield was established in 1957 and has served millions of people for over 50 years. The
Leicester Nuffield Hospital (now Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital) on Scraptoft Lane
was built in 1969 from funds partially raised by the local community and is now one of the
leading providers of private healthcare in the area with 40 en-suite rooms.
In 2008 Nuffield Hospitals acquired Cannon’s Gyms and re-branded to become Nuffield
Health – a healthcare organisation with a difference. By bringing together our hospitals,
clinics and Fitness and Wellbeing Centres (formerly Cannon’s Gyms), Nuffield Health has

Directions
BY ROAD
From M1 Southbound
Exit at junction 22 and take the A50 signposted Leicester. At Groby traffic island turn left onto the A46 signposted Newark. At the
Hobby Horse pub traffic island turn right onto the A607 signposted Leicester. At the Asda traffic island take your 3rd exit signposted
Leicester. At the traffic lights with the pedestrian walk over bridge turn left onto Humberstone Lane continue on this road until you
reach the island. Turn left onto the ring-road signposted Peterborough A47. Go straight over the next island (Porsche garage on your
right). At the next island, go straight over down the hill past McDonalds to the traffic lights at Scraptoft Lane. Turn left at the lights then
Nuffield is immediately on your left.
From M1 Northbound
Exit junction 21a. This filters directly onto the A46 signposted Newark. Travel straight on and at the Hobby Horse pub traffic island turn
right onto the A607 signposted Leicester. At the Asda traffic island take your 3rd exit signposted Leicester. At the traffic lights with
the pedestrian walk over bridge turn left onto Humberstone Lane continue on this road until you reach the island. Turn left onto the
ring-road signposted Peterborough A47. Go straight over the next island (Porsche garage on your right). At the next island, go straight
over down the hill past McDonalds to the traffic lights at Scraptoft Lane. Turn left at the lights then Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital is
immediately on your left.
BY RAIL
From Leicester Railway Station (London Road) the hospital is approximately 3 miles (15 minutes by taxi).
BY BUS
Arriva bus number 53a has a regular service to the hospital from the centre of Leicester. It leaves from Sainsburys at Humberstone
Gate in the city centre every 6 minutes.
