Buzz’s Notes Harrison Memorial Hospital to open Walmart Clinic in late August Harrison Memorial Hospital‟s new in-store clinic will expand access to basic healthcare services. HMH has moved one step further toward providing seamless health care within the community by opening The Clinic at Walmart. The walk-in clinic, which is operated by the professionals at HMH will provide basic healthcare services seven days a week, with no appointment necessary. The walk-in health clinic is the first-owned and operated by HMH in a Walmart location. The Clinic staff will see patients, beginning in late August, Monday through Friday from 11:00 am. until 9:00 pm., Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm & Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. “Our mission is to serve this community, and this clinic is one more way we're able to fulfill our mission. By joining Walmart to operate „The Clinic at Walmart,‟ Harrison Memorial Hospital is again improving access to health care,” said Sheila Currans, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “This clinic will be staffed with licensed healthcare providers, even on evenings and weekends, so families can walk in and know they will receive quality care. This will be a particularly attractive healthcare option for busy people after working hours or on weekends who need to be seen for common ailments or to receive routine healthcare services,” said Currans. Healthcare providers at the Clinic will treat patients for things such as upper respiratory infections, sinus infections, minor wounds, ear aches, flu, insect bites and stings, bladder infections, acne, wart removal, earwax removal and more. Routine screenings for cholesterol and blood sugar, common vaccinations and pre-employment and camp/school physicals will also be provided. We at The City Buzz Magazine believe that your access to this new service is a good thing for our community. It will help relieve pressure on emergency room visits at the hospital thus allowing emergency personnel to treat more acute illness with better speed. This should also help in bringing additional out of town patrons, not only to Walmart, but to investigate other businesses in the Cynthiana area as well.
