A list <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> lecturers from this year to <strong>the</strong> discotltinuance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> lecture
in 1864 is given in Vest&es, pp. 353-358. After this year Oldbury was in-
cluded as one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> places visited by <strong>the</strong> Month& Meeting.

[NOTE.-Whilst <strong>the</strong>se pages are going through <strong>the</strong> press <strong>the</strong> author has had an oppor-
tunity <strong>of</strong> examining <strong>the</strong> original registers, now in Somerset House. The first is a thin
volume, 4gin. by rgin. tall, 11% pages, closely written on both sides, and enclosed in a
worn brown paper cover. The writing is much faded. At <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> p. I is written :-

Downing, b. 13 Nov., 1715.-Parks. The next, Feb. ye 10th) 17+8, Hannah d. Daniel and
Jonn Feln. There are 30 entries in <strong>the</strong> same handwriting as <strong>the</strong> heading, <strong>the</strong> last beiw,
1717, Thomas S. En"Zua?*n' HollicE'~e, oaf Tividale, and A [worn away] his ztle,ife, b. Feb. ye [gone]
Baptized ye 17th. O<strong>the</strong>r surnames include those <strong>of</strong> Byra711, ClzA Cook, Cooper, Grunger,
Harrold, Hill, Hunt, Banks, Pa?,sonage, Rose, Sfntdey and YardZey. From 7 April, 1717, to
<strong>the</strong> last <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 229 in <strong>the</strong> register on 29 December, 1745, <strong>the</strong> entries are in different hand-
writings. On <strong>the</strong> last page are some indistinct entries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nature <strong>of</strong> memoranda :-

The surname <strong>of</strong> Nock frequently occurs in <strong>the</strong> entries.

Register No. ii. is a book <strong>of</strong> 32 pp., 8 <strong>of</strong> which are closely written on both sides,
and 24 blank, ~Xin. by Sin. tall, in a limp marbled paper cover. The heading <strong>of</strong> p. i.
is A X~gister <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> chi!a'?+erz Baptized at OZa'bzt~y nceeting in ye Plzrish <strong>of</strong> Hales Ozwen, in ye
County <strong>of</strong> SaZo). The first entry is Benjamin 6.. 70s. and ~Pfary @'hi&, bap. 20 Jan., 1771 ;
<strong>the</strong> last <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 103 in <strong>the</strong> book, Snrah d. Jose$/z and Phebc ~ho?~zjson, bo?-1-z 29 Aug., 1813,

baptized in RowZey Chzt~ch.
The author has taken copies <strong>of</strong> all entries in <strong>the</strong>se two registers. In sending <strong>the</strong>m
to <strong>the</strong> Registration Commissioners, <strong>the</strong> Rev. Timothy Davis, writing from Oldbury, 6
May, 1837, says :-A Register has been lost, but it is so loj?g since that L have not been able '
to ascertuirz <strong>the</strong> particz~la~s, nor <strong>the</strong> time over which <strong>the</strong> register extendea', only that it occur7ed

Is it not yet possible by diligent search in and around Oldbury to recover this
