For quick navigation through the bus terminal,
enter the South Wing of the PABT on the 8th
Avenue side of the building, between 40th and
41st streets.
For Gate departures, use the main escalator and
follow signs for your gate number.

Tickets Required - Customers are required to purchase a ticket or pass
before boarding buses departing Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Operators will not accept cash.
• Ticketing: You must purchase a ticket or have
a pass prior to boarding. Tickets and passes
are available from any NJ TRANSIT ticket
agent at PABT Windows 1-10 or from ticket
vending machines (TVMs) located throughout
the terminal. The Ticket Plaza is located
approximately halfway through the South
Wing, up a short flight of steps.

Parking and Ticketing Information
• Pay station machines are available in the Park
& Ride lot to conveniently pay for the daily
fee or for the transportation ticket only.
• To obtain daily tickets: Upon entering the
Park & Ride, press the green button on the
left of the entry gate machine. (Senior
Citizens and Passengers with disabilities
should press the yellow button on the right of
the machine. Please read the Reduced Fare
Program section for more information.) Take
the ticket to the nearest pay station machine
(located in the Park & Ride lot), insert it, pay
the required fee, and then receive your
validated parking/exit ticket and
transportation ticket. Daily parking is valid
for 24 hours from the time of entrance.
• A Stored Value Card for frequent Park & Ride
customers is available for purchase at any pay
station within the Park & Ride.
• 10-trip tickets & monthly passes are not
available for transportation to or from the
North Bergen Park & Ride. Monthly passes
from any other line are not valid for
transportation to or from the North Bergen
Park&Ride.

Travel Tips
Follow the tips below to make your trip as
convenient as possible:
• Plan your trip accordingly - Consult the
departure times for the buses you will be
taking. Pleasebesuretoarriveatthebus
stop at least five minutes prior to the
scheduled departure time. Should you need
assistance in planning your trip, please
consult our web site: www.njtransit.com or
contact our Transit Information Center at
(973) 275-5555 (7am-7pm).
• Personal Items Keep aisleways clear of
obstructions at all times. Store larger items in
the overhead racks or under the seats.
Carry-ons - Try to travel lightly, as space on
board buses is limited. Should you need to
stow items such as strollers and oversized
luggage, please ask a bus operator to stow them in
the undercarriage, if available. If an undercarriage
is not available, carry-on items must fit in the
overhead parcel racks or on the passenger’s lap.
Baggage may not block aisle ways, be placed on
empty seats, or cause inconvenience to other
passengers.
• Purchase Tickets - Although it is not required
traveling to New York, we recommend that
you purchase your tickets in advance or have
exact change for quick boarding.
• Departing New York - PABT, passengers are
required to have a ticket or pass prior to
boarding.
• Seating - Our goal is to provide a seat for all
passengers, however, this may not be possible
when buses are crowded. If your bus is
crowded and seats are not available, you have
the option of standing or waiting for the next
bus to arrive.
• Additional Information - If you need
additional information or assistance once you
arrive at the PABT, please visit our Customer
Service Office located in the Ticket Plaza on
the first floor of the bus terminal.

This is a full service line. The driver will make change.
$1, $5, $10, $20 bills & most coins are accepted. Drivers
are not required to accept bills larger than a $20 bill. For
your convenience, we recommend purchasing your tickets
in advance or having exact change.
Customers departing from the Port Authority Bus Terminal
in New York MUST have a ticket or pass to board a bus.

Note: A three-zone or greater interstate bus pass will be
accepted for transportation between Mill Creek/Harmon
Meadow Developments and New York ONLY.
Arriving at the Port Authority
The Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) is located
one block west of Times Square, between 8th and
9th avenues and 40th and 42nd streets. The PABT
offers convenient transportation to New York City
tourist destinations and points of interest via the
following travel options:
NYC Transit subway trains A, C, E, N, R, S, 1, 2, 3,
4 and 7 serve the PABT. For more information on
subway service or other public transportation
options within New York, please visit the
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA)
website at www.mta.info or the terminal
information booth.
A taxi cab dispatch station is available in front of
the PABT on 8th Avenue.
All trips are operated with lift-equipped buses.
NOTE: when traveling into or out of the Port
Authority Bus Terminal or George Washington
Bridge Bus Station, please call 1 (973) 275-5555 in
advance for the location of an accessible boarding gate.
