Two cultures recorded superiority over best check – local on overall mean basis. They also
performed well in regions. These include IET 21477 (OR 2328-5), a culture of 113 days flowering
duration with 14.7% higher yield than local check has also done exceedingly well in R3 (eastern) and
R5 (southern) regions. This culture has moderate resistance to BLB and RTV. IET 20884 (CB 05022)
with medium slender grains with excellent grain quality, outyielded the best check by 7.44% on overall
and recorded superior performance in R5 (southern) region. It also combined biotic stress tolerance to
sheath blight, BLB and WBPH.
Fifty three entries were evaluated at 19 locations of which 7 cultures were promising either on
overall or on regional superiority. The most promising cultures in late duration include IET 22163
(RGL 7001), IET 22182 (NPG-210) and IET 22167 (TRC-2008-1) with 14.7%, 12.9% and 6.5% yield
