Salvador, probably the most colorful and rhythmic

city in Brazil combined with beautiful beaches. The city

with strong African roots has a magnificent history,

which has placed Salvador in UNESCO’s world heritage

program. Salvador was Brazil’s capital until 1763.

Day 1

Departure from XXXXX via to Rio de Janeiro snacks and meals are served onboard. You can request

seating when you make your booking with us.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro

Welcome to South America’s largest and most populous country. Immigration and Customs at the

Galeao Airport. Private arrival transfer with English-speaking guide to your hotel the guide will give

you a lot of useful information during the transfer that takes about 30 minutes depending on the traffic.

Evening free. Try the Lapa region of Rio de Janeiro where you find many restaurants and cozy cafes.

A good place to enjoy the evening.

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro – The Christ Statue

Half day private tour with guide to the Corcovado mountain with the Christ statue. Departure from the hotel

to the Corcovado railway station at the foot of the Corcovado mountain. A 3,5 kilometer (25 minutes)

train ride through the lush mountain greenery takes you to the station on the top of the mountain. From

here, elevators and escalators will lead you to the 38 meter high statue of Christ the Redeemer, 710 m

above sea level. Time at leisure to enjoy the scenery, then return to the train station and ride back to the

Corcovado railway station. The tour continues through the 2,1 kilometer long “Reboucas” tunnel, passing

by the lake “Rodrigo de Freitas”, through the tunnel “Two brothers”, the living area of Sao Conrado

and on to Barra da Tijuca, Rio’s newest and fastest growing living area. Drive along the beaches of Barra

da Tijuca, Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana. Return to the hotel.

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro – The Sugar Loaf

Half day private tour to Sugar Loaf with guide. Departure from the hotel driving along the beaches to

the northern parts of Rio with a stop at “Sambodromo”, the purposed built stadium where the Sambaschools

perform during the carnival. The tour continues passing by the biggest soccer stadium in the

world, Maracana with capacity for more than 160.000 spectators. Then towards the downtown area,

which is the business heart of Rio but it is also here where the historical sites of Rio are. Driving the

narrow streets, passing by the Metropolitan Cathedral, some futuristic office buildings, the municipal

theatre and the main avenue of Rio Branco before leaving the downtown area towards Sugar Loaf. Passing

through the Flamengo Park and Botafogo before arriving to Urca and the cable car station to the

Sugar Loaf. By cable car to the first stage, the Morro da Urca mountain (220 meters). Walk to the other

side of the mountain to take the next cable car to Sugar Loaf (395 meters). Time at leisure. Return to the

ground level.

Day 5 - Rio de Janeiro

At leisure in Rio. As an optional tour, experience the rainforest right inside Rio de Janeiro with the Jeep

Tour. If you are a beach lover, a full day cruise around Rio’s Tropical Islands is the tour for you or maybe

a visit in the botanic gardens.

Day 6 - Rio de Janeiro – The Iguazu Falls

The last day in Rio de Janeiro and after check-out, pick up at the hotel and transfer to the International

airport for flight to Foz do Iguazu. Transfer with Portuguese speaking driver. Reception at the airport in

Foz do Iguazu and transfer to your hotel including guide assistance.

Day 7 - The Iguazu Falls - The Itaipu Dam and Argentinean Falls

Departure from the hotel in the area between the National Park and the city or from the city of Foz do

Iguacu to the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant. The visit begins with a 20 minutes long film presentation

of the work, followed by a 30 minutes drive through the plant. Departure from the power plant to the

falls on the Argentinean side, crossing the Iguacu river by The Tancredo Neves bridge. Arrival at the falls

and walk along special pathways and bridges that bring you very close to some of the falls. From the

Argentinean side, one has a nice view of the San Martin island and Brazil. There are two pathways to walk

on, the upper one takes about 30 minutes and is 700 meters long and the lower one is 1, 5 km long and

takes 1 to 2 hours. Return transfer to the hotel.

Day 8 - Foz do Iguazu – The Macuco Safari

Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the National Park and the Macuco trail. Board electric jeeps for a 20

minutes drive through the forest. Stops are made for explanation of the flora and the fauna. After the jeep

ride, a walk of about 600 meters through the forest to see the Macuco falls, before arriving at the banks

of the Iguacu river. Board open boats and cruise upriver in the middle of the Iguacu Canyon and if the

water level allows, we can arrive right next to the falls themselves, where the passengers will experience

a thrill never to be forgotten. Return to the jeeps and the vehicle. Transfer to the falls on the Brazilian side

and to a point where one has a nice view of the falls on the Argentinean side and from where a pathway

begins. Walking along the pathway, one sees more and more of the falls. At the end of the pathway are

some souvenir shops, bathrooms and a bar. Up to the main road and return transfer to the hotel.

Day 9 - Foz do Iguazu/Salvador

Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the Brazilian airport. Guide assistance included. Reception at the

airport by guide in Salvador and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon and evening free in Salvador.

Day 10 - Salvador – Full day City tour

The tour begins with the historical part of Salvador. The first stop is at Farol da Barra (Barra Lighthouse),

which offers a view of the entrance to Baía de Todos os Santos. Continue along the Vitoria Corridor,

an avenue with centennial trees that still shelter some imposingly large houses, witness to a history of

ostentation. Arriving in the historical section, stop at Tomé de Souza’s square. From the look-out you

can observe the lower city and port, the Mercado Modelo and the Lacerda Elevator. From this point on,

the rest of the visit will be on foot. Crossing Praça da Sé (Sé’s square), a large plaza recently redesigned,

we arrive in Terreiro de Jesus square, surrounded by houses with colonial façades. Visit the Basílica

Cathedral, erected on the site of an ancient 16th century chapel. Visit the São Francisco de Assis Church

(1713), considered the best example of Portuguese baroque style and the most magnificent in Brazil.

Continue discovering the mysteries of the historic centre, walking on the sloping streets. The colored

buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries form an architectural group unique to the Americas, classified

as World Monument by Unesco. Stop for lunch at restaurant Uauá or other similar. Uauá is a charming

restaurant with typical decoration blending a rustic style with a sophistication, serving different kinds

of dishes from Bahia and others states of northeast of Brazil. After the lunch begins the panoramic part of

the tour with the lower part of the city, including the quiet waters of Itapagipe Bay where the first holiday

residences were built. It also includes a visit to the famous Bonfim Church (closed on Mondays) and

the Modelo Market (closed on Sundays and holidays at afternoon) where we will find several craftsmen

selling local works. According to the day of week, the order of the tours can be changed.

Day 11 - 12 Salvador

Days at leisure to enjoy the great beaches or maybe a Schooner trip in the bay.

Day 13 - Salvador

Day free until departure. Checkout at noon and pick up at the hotel by guide and transfer to the airport

in Salvador.

Day 14

Arrival in Scandinavia.
