years young. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> spent her working career as a teacher for the state of Florida, and<br />

continued to substitute teach and volunteer for both the Florida and North Carolina public<br />

school systems long after retirement. She was a graduate of Auburn University and an avid<br />

football fan (War Eagle). Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was preceded in death by her husband, William<br />

Cantrell <strong>Gunn</strong>. She is survived by her sister, Rebecca C. O'Grady; one daughter, Rebecca<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> Greene; two sons, James Nicholas <strong>Gunn</strong> and Eugene Louis O'Grady Jr. (wife Tyler<br />

O'Grady); four grandchildren, Ashley R. Inman, Brandi L. Inman, Tilmoth H (Trip)<br />

Inman III, and Grace Margaret O'Grady, along with multiple nieces and nephews. Mrs.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> donated her body to science in hopes of helping others. A Celebration of Life for<br />

friends and family will be held in her honor in January of 2008.<br />

Annie Lou <strong>Gunn</strong> May<br />

WALNUT, Tn- Annie Lou <strong>Gunn</strong> May, 86, homemaker, died Tuesday at Tippah County<br />

Nursing Home in Ripley. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Walnut Methodist Church,<br />

where she was a member, with burial in Harmony Cemetery. McBride Funeral Home in<br />

Ripley has charge. Mrs. May, the widow of Frank May, leaves a daughter, Rebecca<br />

Braddock of Walnut, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Commercial<br />

Annie Mae White <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

departed this life on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in Regency Healthcare and Rehabilitation<br />

Center, Yorktown, Va. Her life began on Nov. 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Dorothy<br />

White Hodge Brandon and John White, of Danville, Va. She had resided in the Peninsula<br />

area for many years. In 1994, Annie retired from BASF Corporation, where she was a<br />

member of the Conductive Fibers Quality Circle and Fire Brigade. She was a faithful<br />

servant of God and a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, in Yorktown, Va. She was<br />

a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt. She was<br />

deeply loved and respected by her children, and will be sincerely missed by everyone who<br />

knew her. She was also preceded in death by her spouse, Robert <strong>Gunn</strong>; her brothers,<br />

Herbert White and John White; her sister, Bernice Walton; and a daughter, Mary J.<br />

Cooke. Left to cherish her fond memory, are her two sons, Curtis <strong>Gunn</strong> (Teresa) and<br />

Clyde <strong>Gunn</strong> (Diane); her daughter, Sarah Lopez (Sydney); her son-in-law, Herbert J.<br />

Cooke; her grandchildren, whom she raised as her own, Herbert Jerome Cooke Jr.<br />

(Brenda) and LaNora Perkins (Charles); her other grandchildren; her<br />

great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. A<br />

homecoming celebration will be held at noon Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Shiloh Baptist<br />

Church, 11053 George Washington Highway, with the Rev. Barbara Lemon officiating.<br />

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> may be viewed only in the church<br />

beginning at 11 a.m., until the hour of her service. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> had<br />

requested that memorial donations, in expressions of sympathy, be made to Shiloh Baptist<br />

Church (Building Fund), 11053 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA<br />
