President Pearce asked for a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Jesse Creech made a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and the motion was seconded by Judy Capparelli. The motion carried. Treasurer Hal Oakley gave the Treasurer s report. The report will be filed for audit. Committee Reports: The TERT Committee report was given by Jesse Creech. There will be some in-service training with Raleigh-Wake. The class is full. He has tee shirts that are $10.00 each. The Conference Committee report was given by Kelly Palmer. Conference was great with lots of training. Angie Schulz had a few conflicts with instructors for classes. Wireless report: Everyone is concerned about HB 1755. No one knows what will happen. Training is specific for call taking only. The Wireless Board will be under a new chair Billy Willis. The new board will be in place in January. Richard will not travel and hold meetings until the Board knows what will happen. Legislative Committee: The 9-1-1 Goes to Washington will be March 3-5, 2008. North Carolina NENA needs more of its members to attend. President Pearce reported to the group that the Board held its retreat at Sea Trail. The year 2008 will be the 20th anniversary for NC NENA. We will host a special celebration event on Tuesday night. There will be more information to follow. She reported that APCO and NENA have chosen to work together this year on legislation. She reported that we are looking at the possibility of joining South Carolina in their conference. Both the APCO and NENA boards will have to meet and discuss this. We are not sure it is a good fit. New Business: The TDC/ODC will be in Nashville Tennessee in 2008. Anthony Barker is on the committee. We need to send Anthony. Delbert Edwards made a motion for NC NENA to send Anthony. Jesse Creech seconded the motion. The motion carried. Jerry Boggs gave a report on the Critical Issues Forum. It will be in Tampa. He shared a video with the membership. It will be a 3 day summit. Jerry stated you could go to National NENA s website for more information. Lisa `Kovacs stated that this morning an email from Jim Clark relayed information on HR3403 from Patrick Halley. HR3403 passed the house. It has been worked on since 2005. It passed with a 406-1 vote.
