is returning from an extended<br />

tour with <strong>the</strong> RCN visiting in<br />

Europe and <strong>the</strong> British Isles<br />

returning via <strong>the</strong> PanamaCanal<br />

to Victoria, when he will go<br />

on holiday leave and return to<br />

Wells with his parents.<br />

Mrs. D, Scott, who has been<br />

visiting with her daughter and<br />

son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.<br />

George Seatter, for <strong>the</strong> past<br />

few months, left for Vancouver<br />

on Saturday and will be<br />

visiting <strong>the</strong>re with her daughter<br />

and son-in-law, Mr. and<br />

School in Toronto, returned<br />

home Saturday and will be<br />

visiting with his parents, Mr.<br />

and Mrs. George Seatter, for<br />

<strong>the</strong> next three months due to<br />

BONSPIEL<br />

The Wells Cur ling Club held<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir opening bonspiel on Friday,<br />

November 26, when fifteen<br />

rinks were in play. The<br />

winning rink in <strong>the</strong> A event<br />

was Herb Hadfield and <strong>the</strong> B<br />

event was won by Danny Bolt's<br />

rink. From all reports it was<br />

a very successful opening<br />

"Spiel".<br />

The Cariboo Zone meeting<br />

was held at <strong>the</strong> Royal Canadian<br />

Legion Branch #128 on<br />

Sunday, December 5, w h e n<br />

four branches were represented<br />

and <strong>the</strong>y are as follows:<br />

Forest Grove, Williams<br />

Lake, <strong>Quesnel</strong> and Wells.<br />

There were no representatives<br />

from Likely and 100<br />

Mile House. There were 30<br />

ladies who made <strong>the</strong> trip to<br />

Wells. After <strong>the</strong> meeting a<br />

turkey dinner was served to<br />

<strong>the</strong> visitors.<br />

10, play starts at 6<br />

p.m. and <strong>the</strong> rinks will be<br />

limited to 24. There will be<br />

Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Griffith<br />

returned home last weekend<br />

from <strong>the</strong>ir six-week south<br />

sea cruise. Their cruise,<br />

which began at San Francisco,<br />

included visiting Fiju, Tahiti,<br />

Hawaii, Australia, and New<br />

Zealand. They reported a most<br />

enjoyable trip.<br />

New Provindal Building<br />

Eight people from <strong>the</strong>Cariboo<br />

received <strong>the</strong>ir Citizenship<br />

certificates in a ceremony at<br />

<strong>the</strong> new Provincial Buildings.<br />

The ceremonies were conducted<br />

by Cariboo County<br />

Court Judge Ferry. In his<br />

opening address, <strong>the</strong>. judge<br />

commented that this ceremony<br />

was a fitting one to be<br />

<strong>the</strong> first official ceremony to<br />

take place in <strong>the</strong> new court<br />

room.<br />
