The blacke birde and the thrufhe,<br />

That made the vvoodes to ringe,<br />

With all the reft, are now at hufhe,<br />

And not a note do finge. 20<br />

Swete Philomene, the birde<br />

That hath the heavenly throte,<br />

Doth nowe, alas ! not once afforde<br />

Recordinge <strong>of</strong> a note.<br />

The flowers have had a fr<strong>of</strong>t, J25<br />

' For haples Corydon' hath loll<br />

' His lovelye Phyllis' favoure.<br />

And therefore, my fweete Mufe,<br />
