ANCIENT SONGS<br />

To England then I came with fpeede,<br />

To wedd faire Phelis ladye bright<br />

For love <strong>of</strong> whome I travelled farr<br />

Where I erle Jonas did redeeme,<br />

In prifon for long time had beene,<br />

I flew the gyant Amarant<br />

In battel fiercelye hand t6 hand :<br />

And doughty Barknard killed I, 75<br />

Then I to England came againe,<br />

And here with Colbronde fell I fought<br />

An ugly gyant, which the Danes<br />
