This lord he had a daughter deare,
Whofe beauty fhone fo bright, .
She was belov'd, both far and neare,
Of many a lord and knight.
Fair Ifabella was fhe call'd,
A creature faire was fhee ;

Therefore her cruel Hep-mother
Did envye her fo much;
That daye by daye fhe fought her life,

To take her life awaye :
And taking of her daughters book,
She thus to her did faye.
Go home, fweet daughter, I thee praye, 25
Go haflen prefentlie ;
And tell unto the mafter-cook
Thefe wordes that I tell thee.

That faire and milk-white doe, 30
