APLOMADOS, Michoacan, Mex., lead-coloured copper ores, or those
composed of bornite, chalcocite and tetrahedrite, syn. metales de
labor, see cobre (2), comp. dorados.
APLOMAR, to plumb or adjust with a plumb-line or plummet.
APLOMO, plumb-line, plummet, see plomada.
APODERADO, attorney, syn. poder habiente.
APODERAR, to grant a power of attorney.
APOLVILLADO, DA, see u. azogue (2), tierras (4).
APOLVILLADO, Guan. Mex., second class of rich ore from the veta
madre, yielding about 750 ounces of silver per short ton (E. Tilmann)
first class = polvillos y jabones, third class = blonco bueno, fourth class
= granzas.
APOSENTO, Col. among guaqueros underground room (subterraneo) of
similar shape to that bearing the same name in habitations (Uribe).

APRETON, Asturias, Sp. name given to the sudden rush of deads

APUNTE, eng. rough sketch.
APUNTILLADO, small wedge, or pointed pieces of wood [puntillas (2)]
or spiles driven into the wedges in wooden tubbing.
APURADOR, RA, adj. see u. batea and pila (2).
APURADOR, Mex. (1) one who looks for particles of ore in the waste
waters (derrames) of amalgamation works (Gamboa, 1761) ; (2) a
man who re -washes the ore from the tinas apuranderas
are old
women who do the same thing.
APURADORA, (1) apuradoras, blast, the long drills used for finishing
a bore-hole, and after the guias (3) and medias, in Guan. Mex. they are
divided into apuradoras grandes, apuradoras and medias apuradoras,
see barreno (2) ; (2) in the patio process, a large vat, partially filled with
water, in which the bateas, containing sediment from the bottom of
