Deposition<br />

• Originated in the early Paleozoic<br />

• Depositionally equivalent to the Orogrande, Delaware, &<br />

Midland <strong>Basin</strong>s<br />

– The <strong>Pedregosa</strong> is a sister embayment to these other<br />

producing basins<br />

• 4 Primary Depositional Cycles separated by<br />

unconformities<br />

– Ordovician Predominately Carbonate<br />

– Devonian -­‐‑ Mississipian Carbonates & Percha Shale<br />

– Pennsylvanian -­‐‑ Permian Carbonates<br />

– Early Cretaceous Carbonates<br />

• Un-faulted section would be ~20,000' thick
