Fig. 7.20. The plotted values <strong>of</strong> Table 7.3 with <strong>the</strong> l<strong>in</strong>ear trend l<strong>in</strong>e used to determ<strong>in</strong>e<br />
<strong>the</strong> foil thickness and ext<strong>in</strong>ction distance<br />
Once aga<strong>in</strong> from <strong>the</strong> slope and y-<strong>in</strong>tercept <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> l<strong>in</strong>ear trend l<strong>in</strong>e <strong>the</strong> ext<strong>in</strong>ction<br />
distance and foil thickness were obta<strong>in</strong>ed by tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> square roots <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>in</strong>verses.<br />
The value obta<strong>in</strong>ed for <strong>the</strong> ext<strong>in</strong>ction distance is 96 nm and <strong>the</strong> foil thickness is 355<br />
nm.<br />
The foil thickness determ<strong>in</strong>ed is too th<strong>in</strong> for <strong>the</strong> dislocation l<strong>in</strong>e direction to be that <strong>of</strong><br />
