All of the above are formidable challenges WHAT THE M&E REPORT IS EXPECTED TO BE USED FOR(Cont’d) Promoting Knowledge Information sharing with beneficiaries at the local level, the recipient state government, the MDGs, NGOs, and Nigeria‘s development partners would help to build a useful knowledge base about effective practices and generate understanding and support for what the OSAP- MDG is trying to accomplish with the DRG funds. MEETING THE M&E REPORTING CHALLENGE The task before us is to prepare an M&E report that describes our assessment of the performance of the DRG-MDG projects in the state and MDAs and bring out important information that respond to a number of key questions such as: 20 WHAT THE M&E REPORT IS EXPECTED TO BE USED FOR Informing OSAP- MDG management The primary function of the M&E report is to inform the OSAP office about the findings, conclusions, recommendations and lessons learned from the evaluation of completed and ongoing DRG projects Advising government officials at the Local government, State and Federal levels Government at all levels in Nigeria as well as development partners have a need to know how the DRG funds that have been made available to them are performing and what recommendations are being made to improve future DRG investment/project performance WHAT THE M&E REPORT IS EXPECTED TO BE USED FOR(Cont’d) Demonstrating Accountability and Transparency Nigerians at all levels are want federal, state and LGA institutions to be value-based and resultsdriven. This is why the MDG–M&E reports should clearly and accurately set out the levels of performance they are aiming for and measure how effectively the DRG funds allocated the different stakeholders are being used. What results were achieved from the DRG investment under consideration relative to the expectations established during project planning and design? What were the unintended results if any?
