Product overview
The ongoing introduction of 4G/LTE mobile networks require interworking with existing networks for a good end
user experience, this is not only for roaming and authentication but also for service interaction with other functions
such as WiFi offload. An efficient and flexible Diameter interworking solution that maintain connectivity and provide
service interworking with legacy systems as well as enables roaming between LTE and 3G networks in a multivendor
environment is essential.
Tieto´s Diameter Mediation Gateway is the fastest way to enable interworking between Diameter based networks
like LTE and existing networks such as 2G/3G, Fixed and Wi-Fi. It handles interface enablement, integration and
solves incompatibilities efficiently.

» The Tieto DMG supports the following interfaces
& protocols:
» SS7 interface (LSL/HSL/SIGTRAN):
• Full set of SS7 protocols and interfaces,
incl. the Interworking Function (IWF) acc. to
3GPP TS 29.305 support for MAP Gr, Gf interfaces
and Diameter S6a, S6d, S13, S13’
» RADIUS interface:
• Fully support the RADIUS protocol as defined
in RFC 2865 and RFC 2866 and man
vendor specific Attributes (VSA)
• Dead-server detection and round-robin load
balancing over multiple RADIUS servers
» LDAP interface:
• Query, Write or modify information in a LDAP
Directory Server.
• Fully configurable LDAP operations that can
use any Diameter AVPs in search operations
and LDIF for operations to add/modify/delete
data
• Chaining of LDAP operations (result as input
to next operation)
» SQL Database interface
• Database interaction can be used to inject
additional information into an interface or
store information into a data store
• Operations to add/update /delete information
in data store
• Chaining of operations for complex use
cases with multiple operation types

Alarm interface
Alarms are normally sent as SNMP traps to an external
SNMP manager via Ethernet connection. Alarm
notifications can also be viewed locally. Alarms are
saved in an alarm log.

The Linux system is hardened to prevent remote
access and system manipulation
