ABOUT WET
The Wayanamac Education Trust (WET) was started

ABOUT DBIT
Don Bosco institute of Technology (DBIT) established in the
year 2001 is situated on a 36-acre sprawling campus
adjacent to the Bangalore-Mysore state highway and is
18km from the heart of Bangalore city. DBIT has always
meant quality technical and management education for its
students regardless of their chosen discipline. It is well on
its way in creating technocrats and business leaders who
can confidently meet the stiff technological and corporate
challenges of today's and tomorrow's internal and external
business environments.
It offers undergraduate B.E. programs in the fields of
Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and
Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
Electronics and Communications Engineering, Information
Science and Engineering and Telecommunications
Engineering. Besides, we have Masters in Business
Administration, M.Tech in Design Engg., CSE and VLSI &
Embedded Systems all affiliated to Visvesvaraya
Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.
The Departments of Mechanical Engineering,
Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science
and Engineering have been accredited by the National
Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.
ABOUT THE DEPT. OF MECHANICAL ENGG. (ME)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was started in
the year 2002 with an intake of 60 students; it currently has
an intake of 120 and M Tech (Design Engg.) has an intake of
Eighteen. We have 31 well qualified, experienced and
dedicated faculties. The department has a VTU-recognized
research centre and offers Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) by
research programs of VTU, Belgaum, in the areas of
Advanced Materials, Design Engg. and other related areas.
OBJECTIVES
Composite materials have proven to exhibit definite
advantages over base metals and alloys in several areas of
application. These include high strength, high stiffness,
long fatigue life, low density, and adaptability to the
intended function of the structure. Significant strides have
been made in their design, development and applications
in the recent past. Considerable innovative research is still
continuing to develop continuous fibre composites &
particulate composites for critical applications.
Thermal Engineering has developed over the last
several decades to new heights. It has enriched the
Technology with capabilities to design and develop
materials with optimum performance in Aero space engg.
Developments have also been seen in Energy sector in the
areas of non-conventional energy.
Therefore, the ETMT-2013 aims to bring together
academicians, researchers, scientists, and practicing
engineers of various disciplines to share knowledge and
exchange views in order to explore useful industrial
applications of composite materials and thermal
engineering.
The seminar seeks to facilitate useful and targeted
discussions on the latest trends in entire spectrum of
composite materials and Thermal engineering their
applications in different industries.

ACCOMMODATION:
Participants have to make their own arrangements for
accommodation and local transportation. However,
accommodation can be arranged, in exceptional cases, but
requests for the same must be received at DBIT at least one
week before the start of the seminar.
