Your Invitation to the Yukon
As Minister of Tourism and Culture,
I invite you to come and discover
Yukon’s rich artistic community, unique
history and larger than life landscapes.
Here you will find majestic mountain vistas, an abundance of wildlife and rich
river valleys filled with nature’s quiet solitude. Enjoy treasures such as Watson
Lake’s historic Sign Post Forest with its more than 71,000 signs pointing to
locations around the world. Further up the highway in the Southern Lakes
region, paddle crystal-clear waters, explore historic trails on Montana
Mountain or enjoy winter activities such as world-class cross-country
skiing or dog mushing.
Whitehorse is a city for all seasons. It is found within the traditional
territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’an Council and
offers modern-day amenities, a broad range of cultural and recreational
activities, and excellent restaurants and hotels, all nestled within the
beautiful Yukon River valley.
The Kluane National Park and Reserve, home to Canada’s tallest peak, is a vast
wilderness playground, while communities in the area feature jaw-dropping
scenery and cultural facilities highlighting the region’s majestic beauty and
the culture of the Southern Tutchone people.
Discover the quiet back roads and intimate campgrounds of the Campbell
region. Nearby, the Silver Trail is lined with local attractions, natural habitat
and opportunities to explore Yukon’s mining history. And of course you won’t
want to miss the Klondike, home of Yukon’s historic gold rush and colourful
characters past and present.
Year-round, Yukon communities showcase arts and artisans, including
the literary, visual and performing arts. Museums and archives, Yukon First
Nations cultural heritage centres and historic sites hold the stories of our
legendary past.
There has never been a better time to visit and discover why Yukon is
Larger Than Life!
