WHY SELECT A
BrEKKE Tour?
Let some of our past tour participants tell you why:
“I would highly recommend traveling with Brekke
Tours. Their attention to the details that make a
trip memorable is unmatched in the industry. They
put together a ten-day tour that provided incredible
memories everyday from day one to day ten.
Thank you.”
D. Ricci‒Hudson, WI
“I am filling out my survey and can’t wait to tell you
how wonderful our trip was! Your itinerary was
fabulous, our tour director made the experience
better because of her personality. The bus driver
was adorable, the hotels good to great, food delish,
the busses were clean and comfortable. The days
were filled with so many wonderful things to see
and do. Every person on the tour was courteous,
pleasant and cooperative and on time. Thank
you so much for putting together one of the best
vacations we have ever been on.”
M.K. Lower‒Ellisville, MO
“What a great way to make my first trip to Norway!
We were escorted & treated very well. I could have
done this on my own, but never would have learned
the history or significance of what I was seeing.
Thank you Brekke.”
ReseRvations & Payment
To make reservations, complete application form and send deposit
of $600 per person to address shown on application form or register
at www.BrekkeTours.com. The final balance is due 75 days prior
to departure. Early departures and/or extended stays are subject
to availability, must be requested upon registration, and entail a
minimum surcharge of $50, plus weekend surcharge of $25 per
direction, if applicable. For reservations or final payment made within
21 days prior to departure, there is a $25 per reservation handling/
express fee. Checks, Money Orders, VISA and MasterCard are
accepted as forms of payment. Please review and verify your booking
invoice thoroughly and contact your Travel Agent or Brekke Tours
immediately if your invoice appears to be incorrect or incomplete as
it may not be possible to make changes later. Brekke Tours cannot
accept responsibility if we are not notified of inaccuracies within 5
days of sending out the invoice. In case of billing error, we reserve
the right to re-invoice with correct pricing.
tRavel Documents
It is the responsibility of each passenger to obtain proper travel
documents, such as passport and visa. Each passenger must
be in possession of a passport with a validity of at least six (6)
months beyond the conclusion of their trip. A visa is not required for
Scandinavia or Western Europe for stays of less than 3 months. A
visa is required for passengers traveling to Russia.
It is imperative that your airline ticket matches your name as it reads
on your passport. Any changes to your air booking, which include
spelling, are subject to a minimum change fee of $250. With full
payment, tour documents are normally sent 14-21 days prior to
departure and should arrive within 6 business days. If you request
documents earlier, and if it is possible to accommodate you, there is
a $25 per reservation handling/ express fee.
cancellations
The following per person cancellation fee applies: More than 75 days
prior to departure: $200; 74-45 days: $1500; 44-7 days: $2000; less
than 7 days: nonrefundable. Cancellation fees may also apply to
any additional services, including accommodations, independently
supplied services, cruises, and optional excursions reserved prior to,
during and after the tour. Cancellations must be in writing. A change
of itinerary or traveler name (substitution) after receipt of deposit
will be treated as a cancellation and new reservation; standard
cancellation fees apply. Trip cancellation insurance is recommended.
insuRance
The client is urged to protect his/her investment with travel insurance.
Generally pre-existing conditions can be covered if premium payment
is made within 15 days of your initial trip deposit. Request brochure
or visit www.brekketours.com for further information. Brekke Tours
is not responsible for loss, damage or theft of luggage or personal
belongings, or for personal injury, accident or illness.
changes
Once deposit has been received, each subsequent change will be
subject to a change fee minimum $50 per person, only if we can
accept the change and travel documents have not been issued. If
documents are issued and we can accept the change there will be
an additional reissue fee minimum of $350 per person plus any fees
assessed by air/land supplier/s.
aiR tRansPoRtation
Price is based on scheduled transportation in economy class and
nonrefundable airfare on one of our preferred airline partners (if
requesting a specific carrier, an additional charge may apply) from
the city specified in the itinerary. The tour package price reflects
airfare currently in effect & is subject to change until ticketed. Inquire
about airfare options from your home city. Passengers coming
from different cities, booked or deposited at different times, may
be booked on alternate routings/different flights. Passengers are
responsible for charges due to delays on domestic flights (purchased
as separate tickets) in connection with an international flight. If using
frequent flyer miles, participants must booked directly with the carrier.
Purchase of domestic ticket to connect with International Flight:
• It is recommended that you do not purchase airline tickets
until the land portion of your tour is guaranteed to operate.
• If booking a domestic flight to connect with the trans-Atlantic
flight, an overnight (at least for eastbound travel) or an early
flight (with at least one backup flight available) is recommended.
• Also note: carriers will not necessarily allow passengers to check
bags through to the final destination with multiple tickets. Thus
passengers will only be able to check the bag to the destination
on the first ticket(s). The passenger must collect the baggage at
baggage claim for their first ticketed destination, and then re-check
their baggage with the down-line carrier for the next flight. Various
baggage restrictions may also apply subject to carrier guidelines.
Brekke Tours is not responsible for:
• any costs/fees relating to airline delays, rescheduling or cancellation.
If you miss your departure flight it is your responsibility to work with
the airline on which you are ticketed to reach your destination.
• any additional expenses incurred prior to joining the tour package
• and will not provide any refund for services or portions of trips
missed due to cancelled, rescheduled or delayed flights
Fuel suRchaRges anD taxes
Your initial billing will include the current estimated charge based on
your flight itinerary. Final charges for fuel and taxes will be assessed
in your statement prior to final payment.
lanD costs
The tour price is based on a minimum of 30 persons. The trip will be
feasible with fewer than 30, but if the minimum number of passengers
is not reached, the price may increase or services may be modified to
accommodate a smaller group. All rates are based on tariffs in effect
at the time the tour was planned and are subject to increase in the
event of currency fluctuation.
lanD tRansPoRtation
First-class private motor coach. Other transportation and/or
accommodations as indicated.
luggage
Size and weight limitations for carry-on and checked baggage on
international, inter-European flights and domestic flights vary from
airline to airline and are subject to change, so please check with
the applicable carrier prior to departure. On the land portion, due to
limited motor coach capacity, we allow only 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on
per person. Luggage handling at hotels for 1 suitcase is provided.
Airport porterage is not included as security regulations require
that travelers handle and be responsible for their own luggage. No
responsibility is accepted for loss of or damage to baggage or any
of the traveler’s belongings. Baggage insurance is recommended.
sPecial Requests
Special hotel and flight requests, such as “double bed,” “room near
elevator,” “room on lower floor,” “meals,” “seating on aircraft,” etc.,
should be submitted in writing with final payment. Such requests,
however, are outside of our control and therefore cannot be
guaranteed. Please note: A quote does not constitute a reservation.
All reservation requests outside of the group arrangements outlined
in the itinerary, such as additional hotel nights, add-on airfares, date
deviations must be explicitly requested by the tour participants and
confirmed in writing by Brekke Tours.
smoking
Smoking is not permitted on airplanes or motor coaches.
hotels
Accommodations in rooms with private facilities at hotels specified or
similar. Brekke Tours reserves the right to substitute hotels. Rooms
in Scandinavian hotels may have twin, double or day beds. As
Scandinavian hotels generally have small rooms, we advise against
requesting triple rooms. Triple rooms are available on request only and
no discount applies. A limited number of single rooms are available
at the supplementary cost shown. Single rooms are generally inferior
to double rooms in size and location. All rooms are assigned by the
hotel management upon arrival. Please note that throughout Europe
it is standard policy that hotel rooms are not available for check-in
before 2:00pm. Requests for special room assignments should be
submitted in writing with final payment. Special room requests cannot
be guaranteed. Please be advised that not all hotels in Scandinavia
are air-conditioned.
seRvice chaRges, tiPs & taxes
Gratuities to tour director/guide and driver are customarily left to the
discretion of the tour member and are therefore not included in the
tour cost. All service charges and taxes at hotels are included, so
extra tipping will not be necessary.
meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner as specified in the itinerary. Special
requests for meals should be submitted in writing with final payment.
Special meal requests cannot be guaranteed.
unuseD seRvices
A credit of $50 per night per person, pending confirmation, will be
granted for unused hotel services only upon advance notification to
this time period. If after returning, you wish to inquire about any travel
Bergen is the bustling capital of Norway’s fjord district.
Embark on your Norwegian cruise in the evening.
Overnight in Bergen prior to cruise departure is
recommended for international flight arrivals. Price
from $100 per person.
DAy 2 MÅLøy—KRISTIANSUND [B,L,D]
Wake up to the breathtaking beauty of Norway as your ship
crosses the open Stadthavet and heads for Torvik. Stop
in the beautiful Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. (Between
April 15 and September 14, all ships call at Geiranger.)
After a call at Molde, your ship will carefully navigate the
Hustadvika, a belt of islets and skerries, before docking at
Kristiansund. Shore excursions are available.
DAy 3 TRONDheIM—RøRVIK [B,L,D]
The ship arrives early this morning in ancient Trondheim,
where you’ll have time to explore this jewel of a city,
Norway’s first capital. Don’t miss the great gothic
cathedral of Nidaros, where the new kings of old Norway
once received their official blessing. Once you sail again
it’s on to Rørvik, where the southbound and northbound
coastal ships meet. Shore excursions are available.
DAy 4 ORNeS—BODø—SVOLVæR [B,L,D]
Today you’ll cross the Arctic Circle. Prepare yourself for
spectacular sites ahead including islands and skerries
filled with majestic rock formations, whose origins are the
stuff of legend. After Bodø, the ship heads out to open sea
for the Lofoten Islands. In the evening, cruise through the
narrow Raftsund Strait, passing the looming crags of the
Trollfjord. Shore excursions are available.
DAy 5 hARSTAD—TROMSø—SKJeRVøy [B,L,D]
This morning, pass the medieval Trondenes church
before calling at Harstad. Later stop in Tromsø, the “Paris
of the North.” In the 19th-century, Russian, British, Dutch,
and German ships stopped here before heading off on
Arctic expeditions for hunting whales, walruses and seals.
Shore excursions are available.
DAyS 6-7 hAMMeRFeST—KIRKeNeS [B,L,D]
Finnmark’s landscape is teeming with wildlife. Watch for
rookeries of puffins and gannets along the cliffs and pods
of orca hunting for herring. After calling at Honningsvåg,
the capital of the North Cape, the ship heads east toward
the fishing villages of Kjøllefjord, Mehamn and Berlevåg.
On the seventh day, you’ll arrive at Kirkenes, the journey’s
northern terminus and turning point. Shore excursions are
available for both days.
scandinavian cruises
DAy 7 KIRKeNeS—BeRLeVÅG [B,L,D]
Northbound passengers will disembark upon arrival
at 10:00am. After a few hours docked at Kirkenes, the
ship will depart upon the southbound half of her voyage.
Crossing Varangerfjord, Norway’s only east-facing fjord,
arrive in Vardø, the easternmost point of the country. In
the evening, the ship calls at Båtsfjord, which also boasts
the remains of a Stone Age settlement, and Berlevåg.
DAy 8 hONNINGSVÅG—TROMSø [B,L,D]
The ship arrives at Honningsvåg in the early morning.
After calling at Havøysund, she will stop for 1½-hours in
Hammerfest, the world’s most northerly town. Despite its
remote location, it was the first Norwegian town to have
electric street lighting and its own power station. After
crossing open water, you will stop at the old trading post
of Skjervøy. You’ll dock in Tromsø just in time to savor its
nightlife. Shore excursions are available.
DAy 9 hARSTAD—STAMSUND [B,L,D]
The island groups of Lofoten and Vesterålen have
some of the most stunning scenery you will see during
this Norway travel adventure. The ship will negotiate
the narrow Raftsund Strait leading into the breathtaking
Trollfjord, before arriving in Svolvær and Stamsund. Later,
the ship heads east across Vestfjord toward Bodø. Shore
excursions are available.
DAy 10 øRNeS—RøRVIK [B,L,D]
From Ørnes, travel through crystalline waters, filled
with spawning cod from January to April, and go by
lush agricultural fields. Crossing the Arctic Circle once
again, you’ll pass the idyllic island of Sandnessjøen. On
the approach to Brønnøysund, spy the mythical Seven
Sisters Mountains. Today’s last port of call will be Rørvik.
DAy 11 TRONDheIM—ÅLeSUND [B,L,D]
Arrive in Trondheim early, with time to visit Norway’s
largest medieval church, Nidaros Cathedral, and the
restored Archbishop’s Residence. You’ll then sail out
through the beautiful Trondheimsfjord. At day’s end,
you’ll call at Molde, before arriving in Ålesund late in the
evening in time for a stroll on shore. Shore excursions
are available.
DAy 12 TORVIK—MÅLøy—BeRGeN [B,L]
During the night, the ship will call at Torvik, Måløy, and
Florø. The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage is drawing to
a close. Disembark your Norwegian Coastal Voyage in
Bergen. Transfer to the airport for your return flight or
extend your stay in Norway with a land tour..
