2005 ANNUAL R EPORT
Dear Friend:
This past year was an exciting one for the Visiting Nurse Association of Mercer County.
It was a year of celebration, challenge and growth each impacting the delivery of home
health care and hospice services throughout Mercer County. Amidst the challenges and
growth, services to the people of Mercer County were delivered with the same
compassionate care and quality for which the agency has been known. We are proud to let
you know that the Visiting Nurse Association of Mercer County remains the premier provider
of quality home health care and hospice services.
SizeWise
Bristol Myers Squibb has funded a grant for a nutritional program. The SizeWise program
is about obesity. In the United States, two-thirds of the population is overweight. The Visiting
Nurse Association of Mercer County has designed a multi-phase education and outreach
program to address these two areas. SizeWise is helping the residents of Mercer County
learn good eating and exercise habits as well as increase awareness of the risks posed by
obesity in the development of chronic medical conditions, such as, pre-diabetes, diabetes
and hypertension.
“Take the Mystery Out of Home Care”
The Visiting Nurse Association of Mercer County honored Commerce Bank as a corporate
partner on May 20th at our “Take the Mystery Out of Home Care” event at Mercer Oaks
Club House. Attended by 65 friends of VNA, the event was a success. The evening was
highlighted with the Partner Presentation Award to Robert Bennett, Vice President of
Healthcare Financial Services, Commerce Bank and of course fun and mystery. A check was
presented in the amount of $6,000 to the Visiting Nurse Association of Mercer County.
Second Annual Golf Outing
The Visiting Nurse Association held its Second Annual Golf Tournament on October 4th at
Mercer Oaks Golf Course. Bob Bennett, Vice President, Healthcare Financial Services
Group from Commerce Bank served as the Chair of the golf committee as well as being the
Corporate Sponsor. Members of the golf committee presented a check in the amount of
$9,700 to the Visiting Nurse Association of Mercer County.
Still growing, still innovating, still caring after all these years.
We are grateful for your generous support through your donations, participation at VNA
events and volunteer services. All challenges can be overcome, when we have the support
and dedication of loyal friends.
