Covering the Terriers 

This guide was produced to provide meaningful information to 

prospective student-athletes and to assist the media with coverage of the 

Hiram College Terriers 2011 season. 

Press Services 

Media guides, programs, rosters, and up-to-date statistics and results will 

be made available in the press area to working media prior to and during each 

Hiram College home game. An official NCAA box score, along with a playby-play 

account of the game, may be obtained after the game or by contacting 

the SID. All statistics are courtesy of The StatCrew System. 

A work area before and after the game will be provided for print and 

electronic media if needed. Please notify the SID of any special needs 

(phone line, fax service, disability accommodations, etc.) prior to the event 

so that the department can address these needs in a timely manner.

Interviews with Coaches and Players 

Terriers head coach Randy Moore and the assistant coaches are 

available to be interviewed on most weekday afternoons. Hiram College 

players are available at different times during the week, depending on 

the player(s) requested for an interview. For telephone or personal interviews, 

media may contact the SID or the Athletic Department office. 

Approximately ten minutes following the conclusion of home games, 

Hiram College coaches and players will be available for interviews near 

the field area. If media personnel are having difficulty tracking down a 

coach or player, they should contact a member of the Sports Information 

Department.

Hiram College 

Founded in 1850, Hiram College continues today as one of 

the nation s most respected liberal arts institutions. Located in 

Ohio s Western Reserve, Hiram attracts students from throughout 

the United States and twenty-four foreign countries. 

Hiram s academic calendar, known as the Hiram Plan, is 

unique to the nation. The College offers students one of the country 

s oldest and most respected study abroad programs, and more 

than 50% of Hiram students study in a foreign country during 

their four years on campus. Recognized as a liberal arts collegebaccalaureate 

institution by the Carnegie Foundation for the 

Advancement of Teaching, Hiram is one of 13% of colleges and 

universities to be awarded a chapter of the prestigious honor society 

Phi Beta Kappa. Hiram enrolls 900 students in its traditional 

program and more than 300 adult learners in the Weekend 

College, the first program of its kind in Ohio. 

Thomas V. Chema President 

Thomas V. Chema was 

ignaugurated as the 21st 

President of Hiram College 

on September 23, 2004. 

Chema is a 1971 graduate of 

the Harvard Law School 

with more than thirty years 

of leadership experience in 

business, government, and 

law. For the past decade, 

Chema has served as a voting 

member of the Hiram 

College Board of Trustees. 

After graduating from 

Harvard, Chema joined the 

Cleveland-based firm of Arter and Hadden in June of 1971. He 

became a partner in 1979. In 1983, Chema resigned his position 

with Arter and Hadden to serve as executive director of the Ohio 

Lottery Commission. Two years later, he joined the Public Utility 

Commission of Ohio as executive director. During his five year 

tenure with PUCO, Chema received national and international 

accolades for his knowledge of energy economics and regulation. 

He served on the advisory board to the Electric Power Research 

Institute, the National Academy of Sciences Committee on 

Alternative Research and Development Strategies, and he was 

invited to attend the Ditchley Institute in Great Britain, an international 

forum for discussing global problems. 

After fulfilling his tenure at PUCO, Chema rejoined Arter 

and Hadden as a partner in 1989. In 1990, Chema parlayed his 

knowledge and experience working with the state lottery and utility 

organizations into an executive directorship with the Gateway 

Economic Development Corporation of Greater Cleveland. 

During his thirteen years with Gateway, Chema oversaw the 

financing and construction of two major public sports facilities, 

Gund Arena and Jacobs Field. 

Prior to earning his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, 

Chema graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre 

Dame in 1968.

Athletic Department Administration 

Tom Mulligan Director of Athletics

Tom Mulligan was named Hiram College s director of 

athletics and exercise/sport science on June 10, 2002. He is 

responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of 

men s and women s intercollegiate athletics program, the 

exercise/sport science academic program, the intramural/club 

sports program and the operation of the Les and Kathy 

Coleman Sports, Recreation and Fitness Center. 

Mulligan is a veteran of Division III athletics. Before 

coming to Hiram he spent 18 years at Oberlin College in a 

variety of coaching and administrative positions. The majority 

of his tenure at Oberlin was in the role of head coach of 

track & field. Prior to his stint at Oberlin, Mulligan coached 

Ellen Dempsey Assistant AD / Senior Woman Administrator 

Ellen Dempsey was named the assistant athletic director 

and senior woman administrator during the spring of 2004. 

Dempsey earned a bachelor s degree in natural 

resources from Michigan State University in 1986. She also 

holds a master s degree in exercise science from Northern 

Michigan University. 

In addition to serving as assistant athletic director/senior

Jim Johnston begins his ninth year as an assistant athletic 

director at Hiram College and his 22nd year as the school s 

head athletic trainer. 

A National Athletic Trainers Association certified trainer, 

Johnston is responsible for the prevention, treatment, and 

rehabilitation of injuries to all student-athletes involved in 

intercollegiate and intramural programs. He also coordinates

football and track at Marietta College (1980-1983), Kenyon 

College (1978-1980), Ohio Wesleyan University (1977-

Mulligan holds a B.A. in health and physical education 

from Ohio Wesleyan University and a M.Ed. in health and 

physical education from Bowling Green State University. He 

and his wife, Diane, reside in Aurora. They have three adult 

children.

volleyball team. Now entering her 11th year at the helm, 

Dempsey has posted a 240-104 record with 11 NCAC playoff 

appearances and three consecutive NCAA Division III 

National Tournament appearances (2005-07). 

Overall in 18 seasons as a head coach, Dempsey has a 

career record of 372-243.

The North Coast Athletic Conference 

Founded in 1983, the North Coast Athletic Conference is dedicated 

to fostering a complementary relationship between intercollegiate 

athletics and the pursuit of academic excellence. Consisting 

of nine academically selective colleges and universities in Ohio, 

Indiana and Pennsylvania Allegheny College, Denison 

University, DePauw University, Hiram College, Kenyon College, 

Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, 

Wittenberg University and The College of Wooster the NCAC 

believes that high-level athletic programs need not be sacrificed in 

order to meet rigid academic standards. 

Significantly, all nine NCAC institutions have been granted 

chapters of Phi Beta Kappa, the preeminent honor society for colleges 

and universities. Only 276 of the more than 3,000 four-year 

institutions in the United States have been so honored. 

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s 

Division III, the NCAC features championship competition in 22 

sports 11 for men and 11 for women. The 11 women’s sports are 

the most offered by any Division III conference, and the equality in 

number and emphasis between men„s and women„s athletics is just 

one of the elements that sets the North Coast apart. 

The goals of the conference express the best aspirations of 

American amateur athletics. The NCAC brings together a group of 

institutions which share a common allegiance to academic quality 

and to the conduct of athletics so as to support the educational purpose. 

Intercollegiate athletics can and should complement academic 

life, rather than compete with it, and sports should enhance the 

experience of students during their college years. This type of academic 

and athletic commitment has been led by the 10 school presidents, 

who have taken an active role in the governance of the conference. 

Fifty-two teams from 22 North Coast sports were represented 

in NCAA post-season competition during the 2009-10 academic 

year. The NCAC added one more NCAA Division III swimming 

championships as Kenyon claimed the men„s title. The conference 

has accumulated 61 national championships since its inception in 

1984-85. In the past academic year, 180 NCAA All-America or 

ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America certificates 

were distributed to student-athletes from North Coast schools. 

The NCAC’s commitment to equity, its broad base of athletic 

programs, and an unwavering insistence on excellence in academics 

has served as a model for conferences throughout the country. 

The North Coast has shown not only that these ideals can coexist, 

but that they can flourish. The NCAC continues as a pace-setter in 

the 21st century.

Randy Moore was named the Head 

Football Coach at Hiram on Dec. 18, 

2009 and will begin his second season in 

the fall of 2011. Moore comes to Hiram 

from Otterbein College where he served 

as defensive coordinator for seven years. 

Randy is a seasoned and successful 

coach with extensive experience at the 

NCAA Div. III level, said Hiram 

College Director of Athletics Tom 

Mulligan. He is a relentless recruiter and 

an excellent tactician who has spent the 

majority of his 27-year coaching career 

representing selective liberal arts institutions. 

He is a good fit for Hiram. We re 

excited to be able to attract a coach with 

his experience and energy. 

At Otterbein, Moore was part of the staff 

which led the 2008 and 2009 teams to 17 

victories and the institution s first berth in 

the NCAA playoffs. Prior to joining the 

staff at Otterbein, Moore served as defensive 

coordinator at Hope College, head 

coach at Lake Forest College, defensive coordinator at Wartburg College, assistant coach at 

Michigan Technological University, and assistant coach at New Mexico State University. He 

earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and a master s degree in educational 

administration from New Mexico State University. 

I m honored to have the opportunity to work with outstanding people who have made me 

feel very positive about the future of Hiram College football, said Moore. There are so 

many good things happening here at Hiram right now, you can feel the momentum when you 

step on campus. I m anxious to get started and to build a program that everyone associated 

with Hiram will feel positive about. 

Moore and his wife, Teri, have two children, son, Matt, and daughter, Megan.

Assistant Coaches 

Dustin Miller 

Offensive Coordinator 

Dustin Miller will begin his second 

season at Hiram in 2011 as the offensive 

coordinator. Miller joins the Terrier program 

after spending the past three seasons 

as the offensive coordinator at Malone 

University in Canton. 

During his tenure at Malone, Miller’s 

offenses ranked in the NAIA top-20 each 

season as well as leading the American 

Mideast Conference in 2008 and was the Mid-States Mideast 

Conference Assistant Coach of the Year. The Pioneers averaged 

424 yards and 30 points per game in addition to setting 20 team 

records. 

Miller has additional coaching experience at the collegiate 

level with stops at Tabor (Kan.) College (2004-05), Bethany 

(Kan.) College (1999-2003) and Bethel (Kan.) College (1995-98). 

At all three places, Miller coached one of the top offenses in each 

school’s conference and in the NAIA. He also was a part of a 

combined four Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference 

Championship teams at Tabor and Bethany College. In addition, 

Miller was a two-time KCAC Assistant Coach of the Year (2004- 

05) and was the AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year 

(2002). 

Miller is a 1993 graduate of Bethany (Kan.) College with a 

degree in secondary education with an emphasis in social science. 

He later earned a master’s degree in physcial education from 

Wichita State (Kan.) University. At Bethany, Miller was a fouryear 

member of the football team and was a All-Conference running 

back. In four seasons, he was part a team that posted a 33- 

5-1 record and won two conference titles. 

Miller currently resides in Canton, Ohio. 

Drew Owens 

Assistant Offensive 

Coordinator/Offensive Line 

Drew Owens will be in his second season 

as the offensive line coach/assistant 

offensive coordinator/recruiting coordinator 

at Hiram College in 2011. 

Owens comes to Hiram after a twoyear 

stint at NCAA Division II Saint Anselm 

(N.H.) College as an offensive line coach 

and recruiting coordinator. In 2008 at Saint Anselm, Owens 

coach an offense line that paved the way for 230 yards per game, 

capturing the rushing title in the Northeast 10 Conference. 

Owens has also coached at the high school level at 

Westerville Central High School in Columbus, Ohio as an offensive 

line coach. 

Owens is a 2008 graduate of Otterbein College where he 

earned a degree in History. Owens began his collegaite career at 

the University of Rhode Island before transferring to Otterbein in 

2005. 

Owens currently resides in Kent, Ohio. 

Scott Bronkema 

Wide Receivers 

Scott Bronkema will begin his second 

season as a member of the Hiram coaching 

staff in 2011 and will be in charge of the 

wide receivers. 

Bronkema begins his collegiate coaching 

experience at Hiram as an assistant 

coach. He is a 2010 graduate of Malone 

University in Canton. 

As a student at Malone, Bronkema 

was a three-year member of the football team after transferring to 

Malone from Conerstone (Mich.) College prior to the start of the 

2007 season. 

Bronkema currently resides in Hudson. 

Adolph Hathaway 

Assistant Offensive Line 

Adolph Hathaway will be in his first 

season of coaching at Hiram in 2011 and 

will be an assistant offensive line coach. 

Hathaway is a 2010 graduate of Ohio 

Dominican University where he earned a 

bachelor s degree in history and communication. 

He went on to earn his master s in 

education from Kaplan University. 

Hathaway s previous coaching experience 

includes a one-year stay working with the football program 

at Solon High School. 

As a student-athlete, Hathaway began his playing career at 

Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. before transferring to 

Ohio Dominican in 2007. At both schools, Hathaway played on 

the defensive line and was a member of the 2007 ODUconference 

championship team. 

Hathaway currently resides in Solon. 

Charles Johnson 

Outside Linebackers 

Charles Johnson joined the Hiram 

football coaching staff prior to the 2008 season 

and will be in charge of the outside linebackers. 

Johnson attended Ohio Wesleyan 

University from 1992-96 where he played 

three years of football and earned All-North 

Coast Athletic Conference honors in 1995 

as a defensive back. He later played semipro 

football in 2003-04 and had the opportunity to try out with the 

Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. 

Johnson is a 1992 graduate of South Point High School 

where he was a four-sport athlete and is currently working 

towards a bachelor s degree in exercise science and fitness from 

Cleveland State University. 

Johnson currently resides in Solon.

Assistant Coaches 

David Price 

Defensive Line 

David Price will be in his second season 

as an assistant coach in 2011 and will be 

in charge of the defensive line. 

Coach David Price was raised in 

Charlottesville, Virginia playing football for 

Albemarle High School from 1999-2002. 

Price is a 2008 graduate of The 

University of Akron with a degree in psychology. 

As a student at Akron, he was a 

member of the football team for two years. 

Price has coached at the prep level for the past two seasons 

as a defensive line coach and defensive coordinator and has also 

coached at summer camps with Ball State University and the 

University of Virginia. 

Price was an accomplished high school football player at 

Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, Virgina (1999-2002). 

During his tenure, he started along the defensive line, offensive 

line, linebacker, and at fullback for the Varsity team for three 

years. Price earned first-team All-Commonwealth district and 

first-team All-Central Virginia honors as a junior and a senior. As 

a senior, Price was a first-team all region pick and was selected as 

a member of the Prep-Star Magazine All-East team. 

Bill Livingston 

Running Backs/Special Teams 

Bill Livingston will be in his first season 

of coaching at Hiram in 2011 and will 

coach the running backs and special teams. 

Livingston is a 1997 graduate of 

Mount Vernon Nazarene University and 

later earned his master s degree at Otterbein 

University in 2011. 

Livingston joins the Hiram coaching staff following an eightyear 

stay at Otterbein where he coached the defensive line, running 

backs and was the special teams coordinator. During his 

tenure, the Cardinals made an appearance in the NCAA Division 

III National Tournament in 2008. 

Livingston has also spent time coaching at the high school 

level including stops at St. Francis DeSales (2000-02) and 

Columbus West (1994-99). At St. Francis DeSales, he coached 

the offensive line and the team made two regional championship 

appearances and was the state runner-up in 2001. While at 

Columbus West, Livingston coached the running backs and outside 

linebackers and helped coach the team to a City League 

Championship in 1997. 

His son, Patrick, is a member of the U.S. Navy. 

Mike Soltis 

Kickers/Punters 

A 16-year veteran on the Hiram coaching 

staff, Mike Soltis will once again lend 

his expertise coaching kickers to the Terriers 

in 2011. 

A 1977 graduate of the College, Soltis 

holds the school, single-game record for 

made PAT’s with seven. 

Soltis began his coaching career as an 

assistant varsity coach at Cardinal High School (1977-92) where 

he coached the kickers, punters and wide receivers before returning 

to his alma mater in 1995. 

Soltis, his wife, Jane, and daughter, Margaret, reside in 

Parkman, Ohio.

2011 Season Outlook 

HIRAM, OHIO -- It’ll be a new look for the 

Hiram College football team in 2011 as the 

team ushers in a new field, lights, new locker 

room, its largest recruiting class and will dress 

its largest teams in program history. The 

Terriers welcome back 33 letterwinners this 

fall, including 14 starters, as second-year Head 

Coach Randy Moore looks to lead Hiram in a 

season of improvement from a year ago. 

We made some strides last season and our 

players really made some improvement 

throughout the course of the year, said Moore. 

Although we didn t neccessarily have the year 

that we wanted record wise, our team got another 

year of experience and that should help us be 

more successful in 2011. 

The Terriers will have some holes to fill on 

offense with none being larger than at wide 

receiver with the loss of All-North Coast 

Athletic Conference and All-Ohio wideout 

Glenn Campbell to graduation. Campbell 

caught a school and NCAC record 91 passes 

last fall and became the first Terrier in program 

history to have 1,000 yards receiving in a single 

season in addition to setting four other records. 

Glenn was an amazing athlete, said 

Moore. We will definitely miss having him 

around, but I think that the combination of guys 

that we have coming back can fill the void and 

be a threat for opposing defenses. 

Another question mark for the Hiram 

offense will be the role of quarterback as returning 

starter Brendan Rehor (Bay Village/Bay) 

has already been lost for the season due to 

injury. A year ago, Rehor set school single-season 

records in pass completions (222) and 

attempts (364) for 1,910 yards and 10 touch-

Catholic) led the team and the NCAC in tackles in 2010 

with 112. He also had a team-best three fumble recoveries 

and earned honorable mention All-NCAC honors.

downs. Of the remaining QBs on the roster, 

only sophomore George Blake (Parma) saw any 

playing time last fall completing three-of-four 

passes for 28 yards. 

The Hiram offense will return six starters on 

offense, including sophomore running back 

Caleb Jones (Lake Placid, Fla./Lake Placid) in 

the backfield. Last year, Jones led the team in 

rushing with 324 yards in 74 carries (4.4 yards 

per carry) and one TD. He was also third in 

receptions with 30 for 118 yards and a TD. 

Joining Jones will be junior Chris Austin 

(Cleveland/Glenville) and senior Rodney 

Jacobs (St. Petersburg, Fla./Seminole). Both 

were used in backup roles with Austin ending 

the 2010 campaign with 43 carries for 121 

yards (2.8 yards per carry) while Jacobs rushed 

for 51 yards in 21 attempts (2.4 yards per carry) 

and had one TD. 

This year s receiving corps will be led by the 

duo of sophomore Richard Simpson 

(Kissimmee, Fla./Gateway) and senior Shaun 

Zalewski (Cleveland/St. Edward). Simpson 

caught 24 passes last season for 201 yards and 

Zalewski contributed with 23 receptions for 

212 yards and a pair of TD. In addition, 

Simpson was the team top kick and punt returners 

racking up 414 yards on kick returns in 20 

attempts for a 20.7 yards per return average. 

Also look for sophomore Brendon James 

(Brunswick) to compete for playing time this 

season at wideout after finishing his rookie season 

with 10 catches for 70 yards. 

The remaining returning starters are on the 

offensive line in veterans Vincent Grandillo 

(Tiffin/Calvert), Jeff Petrilli (Warren/Niles 

McKinley), Joe Richissin (Brunswick) and 

Matt Russell (Cape Coral, Fla./Cape Coral). 

Last season, the offense posted 2,932 total 

yards (690 rushing and 2,242 passing) 

and recorded school single-season 

records in passing first downs (108), 

pass attempts (418) and completions 

(255). 

We will have some challenges on 

offense this season with the loss of some key 

players from last year, said Moore. But 

we have the luxury of an experienced offensive 

line and returning specialty players that 

will allow us to be competitive. 

Hiram s strength this season could be on 

the defensive side of the ball as eight starters 

return, including all three starting linebackers 

in All-NCAC seniors Oliver Dickerhoof 

(Alliance/Central Catholic), Jon Hull 

(Buford, Ga./Mill Creek) and Steve Brown 

(Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett). 

Dickerhoof led the team and the NCAC in 

tackles with 112 (64 solo and 48 assists). He 

also had a team-high three fumble recoveries 

and finished second in both tackles for loss 

(seven) and sacks (3.5). Hull finished second 

in tackles in 2010 at 69 (26 solo and 43 

assists) in addition to two fumble recoveries, 

4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Steve 

Brown had a solid season with 40 stops (14 

solo and 26 assists), including a fumble 

recovery and a forced fumble. 

The defensive line will be led by returning 

starters and All-NCAC senior Jarrod Lewis 

(Petersburg/Springfield Local), senior Robert 

Woods and senior Alex Sinclair (South 

Euclid/Brush). Lewis recorded 39 tackles last 

year (21 solo and 18 assists) and led the team in 

tackles for loss (nine) and sacks (5.5) in addition 

to one fumble recovery. Woods had 42 

tackles (18 solo and 24 assists) to go along with 

5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a fumble 

recovery while Sinclair added 14 tackles (five 

solo and nine assists), 1.5 tackles for loss and a 

forced fumble. Also on the defensive line, look 

for senior Brandon Nuby (Spring Hill, 

Fla./Nature Coast) to play a significant role. A 

year ago, Nuby posted 48 tackles (24 solo and 

24 assists) with 4.5 tackles for loss and one 

forced fumble. 

The defensive secondary will be without 

some experienced players, but will still return 

some veterans led by senior Mike Brown 

(Cleveland/Glenville) and sophomore Josh 

Peacock (Carson City, Nev./Carson). Mike 

Brown led all returning secondary with 56 tackles 

last season (37 solo and 19 assists). Peacock 

had an impressive first year with the program 

with 44 tackles (31 solo and 13 assists), including 

three tackles for loss, an interception and a 

team-high three blocked kicks. Joining Mike 

Brown and Peacock, will be senior Dominick 

Harper (Akron/Kenmore). Harper tallied five 

tackles in 2010 as a backup and had one fumble 

recovery. Also expect Sam Gallagher 

(Strongsville) to see his share of playing time at 

defensive back following a 2010 season that 

saw him total 41 tackles (20 solo and 21 assists) 

to go along with one forced fumble. In addition, 

look for junior Matt Laird (Shaker 

Heights) and sophomore Tyler Williams 

(Ravenna/ Rootstown) to compete for playing 

time. 

We ll have some talented players on 

defense this season and we will rely on them to 

come up with some big plays, said Moore. 

We re pretty solid in all areas and I think we 

will be able to surprise some people. 

The 2011 schedule will have one of its 

own firsts as well as Hiram will play in its 

first ever night game when the Terriers host The 

College of Wooster on Oct. 29. The team will 

also play in a neutral site home contest against 

Macalester (Minn.) College on Oct. 8 at 

Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill. Hiram 

begins the season on Sept. 3 in a non-conference 

matchup against Westminster College in 

New Wilmington, Pa. The Terriers will play its 

first home game a week later on Oct. 10 against 

Kenyon College at Henry Field at 1 p.m. 

It s an exciting time for our football program 

and I think it will be shown this fall, said 

Moore. We had a great spring practice and the 

players and coaches are all looking forward to 

getting the 2011 season started. We ll have the 

largest team in program history this fall and 

we ll have a large group of talented players that 

should result in a positive step forward for 

Hiram football.

Football Has Four Selected to All-NCAC Teams in 2010 

CLEVELAND, OHIO Four members 

of the Hiram College football team were 

selected to the 2010 All-North Coast Athletic 

Conference Teams. Graduated wide receiver 

Glenn Campbell earned first-team honors, 

while fellow graduated senior Luke Lewis 

and current seniors Jarrod Lewis (Petersburg/ 

Springfield Local) and Oliver Dickerhoof 

(Alliance/Central Catholic) were tabbed honorable 

mention. 

Campbell earned his second All-NCAC 

award and became just the second player in 

program history to garner first-team accolades 

since joining the conference. Campbell 

led the team in receptions (91) and yards 

(1,095) which were both school single-season 

records. He was the first wideout in 

Hiram history to record over 1,000 yards 

receiving in a single season. His NCAC 

record-setting 91 receptions led the conference 

and his 1,095 reception yards ranked 

second most. Campbell averaged just over 

nine receptions per game last fall which 

ranked in a tie for third best in all of NCAA 

Division III and averaged 109.5 yards per 

game which was 12th highest nationally. He 

also led the team in touchdowns (seven) and 

tied the Hiram longest reception in a game 

record of 83 yards against Carnegie Mellon 

(Pa.) University on Oct. 2. In addition, 

Campbell set two single-game records as a 

senior recording 15 receptions against 

Denison University on Sept. 18 and most 

reception yards in a game (220) against 

Carnegie Mellon. Campbell set the singleseason 

reception yards record on two occassions, 

first breaking the mark against 

Denison with 217 yards and then again two 

weeks later with his current record in the 

game against CMU. 

For his career, Campbell is the program 

s all-time leader in receptions (207). In 

36 career games, he recorded 2,345 yards 

with 15 touchdowns and averaged 11.3 yards 

per catch. In addition to playing wide receiver, 

Campbell also saw playing time at quarterback. 

As a QB, Campbell completed 25of-51 

passes for 382 yards and two TD. He 

also saw limited playing time on special 

teams and accounted for 2,875 all-purpose 

yards during his career. 

Luke Lewis earned his first All- 

Conference award as a senior. He saw most 

of his playing time as a wide receiver and 

ended the year second in both receptions (46) 

and reception yards (357). Lewis was also 

tied for second in TD with two. He averaged 

7.8 yards per catch and 35.7 yards per game. 

In addition, Lewis also carried the ball two 

times for 23 yards. 

Luke Lewis ended a versatile playing 

career as a running back, wideout, tight end 

and on special teams. As a running back, he 

carried the ball 168 times for 488 yards with 

six TD. As a receiver and tight end, he 

caught 81 passes for 611 yards with two 

2010 All-NCAC Team 

career TD. In his last two seasons, Lewis 

began to see time on special teams as a kick 

returner. He totaled 298 return yards in 20 

attempts for a 14.9 yards per return average. 

Overall, Lewis had accounted for 1,397 allpurpose 

yards in four seasons. 

Jarrod Lewis completed a solid second 

season as a Terrier with his first All-NCAC 

honor. He ended his junior season with 39 

total tackles (21 solo and 18 assists) and led 

the team in tackles for loss (nine) and quarterback 

sacks (5.5). His nine tackles for loss 

ranked in a tie for 10th most in the NCAC 

and his 5.5 sacks were fifth best. Lewis was 

also second on the team in pass breakups 

with five to go along with one fumble recovery. 

Dickerhoof had an impressive junior 

season capped with his first All-NCAC 

award. He led the team and the conference in 

total tackles with 112 (64 solo and 48 

assists). His 112 tackles ranked 17th highest 

in the nation. He posted 10 or more tackles 

in all but two games this season with a season 

and career-high of 17 stops against the 

College of Wooster on Oct. 30. Dickerhoof 

also led the NCAC in fumbles recovered 

(three) and was tied for second in fumbles 

forced (two). In addition, Dickerhoof was 

second in tackles for loss (seven), sacks (3.5) 

and had one blocked kick.

Athletic Halls of Fame, Joe Malmisur (1969-82) 

was the AD at YSU for 11 years, during which time 

the Penguins won three NCAA Division I-AA 

National Championships. 

Roy Tillotson (1920-23) left Hiram in 1924 to 

become the head basketball coach at Miami 

University where he coached for six seasons. 

Longtime college coach Steve Belichick (1946-48) 

was the father of New England Patriots head coach
