Christmas dinner<br />

Join in holiday fellowship at Historic DeRidder<br />

Army Air Base for a traditional Christmas<br />

dinner Dec. 25 at 1 p.m. This meal is a repetition<br />

of <strong>the</strong> Christmas meal shared by 200<br />

World War II Soldiers in Dec. 1943. These Soldiers<br />

were part of <strong>the</strong> 642nd Bombardment<br />

Squadron, 409th Bombardment Group stationed<br />

at DAAB before deploying to <strong>the</strong> European<br />

Theater in Feb. 1944.<br />

Rumor has it that Santa has loaded his plane<br />

with door prizes for those in attendance at <strong>the</strong><br />

modern spread. A special invitation is extended<br />

to Soldiers and veterans who may not have<br />

Grant applications<br />

The Fort Polk Spouses’ Club offers <strong>the</strong> Fort<br />

Polk community <strong>the</strong> opportunity to apply for<br />
