Dear Prospective Graduate,<br />
Congratulations on your academic achievements and for reaching the goal you have<br />
worked toward for several years- GRADUATION! This will be an exciting, busy, and<br />
stressful time for you, and we want to make this process as easy as possible.<br />
The Raza Grad Celebration is a culturally focused ceremony that celebrates Chicana/o<br />
Latina/o communities. The ceremony will take place Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 12 pm<br />
at Quiet Cannon in Montebello, California. Participating in the Raza Grad Celebration is<br />
a wonderful and intimate way to celebrate your academic achievements and to honor<br />
your families and other significant people who helped contribute to your success.<br />

RAZA GRAD CELEBRATION Program Book 2013<br />
As part of Raza Grad Celebration, you are given the opportunity to include your photograph and dedication<br />
in a yearbook along with all the other graduates participating in this year's grad ceremony. Note: The Raza<br />
Grad Program is not the same as the CSULA yearbook.<br />
PHOTOGRAPHS:<br />
In order to provide high quality photographs for the grad program, we will provide several days for the<br />
participants (graduates) to have their picture taken. Photos will be taken at the Cross Cultural Centers<br />
located on the 2nd Floor, Room 206 in the <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Union</strong>. Participants need to make an<br />
appointment with the Cross Cultural Centers by calling 323.343.5001 or stop by the Cross Cultural<br />
Centers located on the 2nd Floor, Room 206 in the <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Union</strong>.<br />

DEDICATION:<br />
Your dedication should be typed no more than 75 words (maximum), use a 12 point font and Times New<br />
Roman. Once you have completed your dedication please turn them in to Elba Pineda at the Chicana/o<br />
Latina/o <strong>Student</strong> Resource Center located on the 2nd Floor, Room 206, in the <strong>University</strong>-<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Union</strong>.<br />
Dedications can also be submitted by email to csularaza13@gmail.com. Dedications due by<br />
4pm, Friday May 3, 2013: NO EXCEPTIONS.<br />

STUDENT PERSPECTIVE:<br />
Are you interested in being a STUDENT SPEAKER? The Raza Graduate Perspective is a 1-2 page<br />
speech given by members of the graduating class. Please submit your essay (500 words maximum) by 4pm,<br />
Friday, May 3, 2013 to the Cross Cultural Centers, U-SU 2 nd floor, Room 206 to Elba Pineda or Fred Smith<br />
for consideration. No late submissions will be accepted. Essay topic- WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A RAZA<br />
