FAITH GACHII
News Editor
If someone had told me in seventh
grade that the same kids that I was
constantly fighting with
would end up being my
closest friends, I would
have probably laughed in
that person’s face.
But now I see how
right they are, how people
I once avoided are the same ones I can
laugh with or hang out with.
I feel that as a class we have matured
together through all the hard times and
grown close through the great times, too.
Looking back, the decision that I made
to stay in this school district was probably
one of the best choices that I ever made.
I feel that I’ve changed tremendously
due to the experiences that I was able to
have here that I would never have had if I
had gone to another school.
Along with the in-class instruction that
we got, we also acquired life skills such as
What’s your legacy going to be?
RYAN NOLAN
Managing Editor
What will you leave behind?
I don’t mean the gum under your desk
or the rancid sneakers in your gym locker.
As graduation nears, I find myself
reflecting on the past
four years with a different
mindset.
Did I accomplish
everything I set out to do?
Do I regret some of the
decisions I have made?
Most importantly, what legacy am I leaving
here?
Your reputation is the only thing that
remains once you graduate.
We all have been in the situation where
we see someone who has wronged us and
instantly think of that moment.
In 20 years when you apply for a job
or shop at the grocery store, you never
know if the employer or the cashier is the
person you made fun of in math class.
Who you are in high school could be
drastically different than who you will
become in the future.
Inevitably, how we acted during our
early years reflects how people from the
past identify us.
Then, individuals find themselves
being able to get a long with each other
and work together for the good of the
school and the community.
We all have a lot more in common with
each other now than we had when we first
started.
When we come back for school
reunions, I will be looking forward to
seeing everyone again. My experience here
wasn’t so terrible that I can’t wait to walk
out of the doors and never look back.
I’m not going to lie to anyone, though.
It wasn’t always a good time, but there
definitely were moments that we all enjoyed.
As we go on to chase whatever it is
that we’ll be pursuing after we leave, the
experience we got here is going to be the
most significant in shaping who become
later on life.
So, before we rush to leave when the
final bell of our last year in high school
sounds, let’s appreciate how much high
school has contributed in shaping who
we’ll become as members of society.
trying to recreate the reputation that they
formed into something respectable.
Do you want people to forever look
back and remember you for the things you
did when you were a kid?
Most teenagers don’t consciously think
about the decisions they make and how
they affect the people around them.
People won’t remember the grade you
got in Spanish or the second place you
took in the 400 meter dash; they will,
however, remember how you treated
them.
The past can’t really be changed, but
reflecting on it now, who will you be
known as?
Will you be remembered as a cynic
that had a negative opinion and comment
for everything? A loud mouth that used
words to bring others down? A floozy
who gave herself away to any guy who
gave her attention?
It’s never too late to change the mark
you leave behind.
Just because you have always acted a
certain way doesn’t mean that you can’t
modify your actions during the last moments
of high school.
As individuals, we have the ability to
think before we act; it’s our choice, now,
to make those choices to our advantage.
If you could have one do-over,
what would it be?
“I’d take better classes as a freshman and
wish I would have started as a freshman.” –
Brittany Parlee
your wild and crazy self is the way to go.” –
What is the most important
lesson you have learned
in 13 years of school?
“Just have fun and don’t take life so seriously;
life is too short.” – Sara Mallicoat
“Grades are extremely important; you
would be going nowhere without good
grades.” – Alex Manriquez
“You need to learn to study because
studying the wrong way doesn’t do any
good – oh yeah, and to actually study
would help, too.” – Allison Mark
“Learn who you can trust.” – Cameron
Marsh
“It is impossible to beat Luke Sargent in
chess.” – Dan Marshall
“To embrace each day like it is your last;
you never know what’s going to happen.”
Kayla Marvelli
“Hard work and studying is a life lesson.
Without it I wouldn’t have the will or
knowledge to succeed.” – Allie Matheny
“The only way to success is hard work.”
– Austin Mathews
“You can’t do things halfway. You get
what you put into things.” – Allie McBroom
“Never give up; never back down.” –
“Masticating is a good thing, trust me.”
– Taylor McCloskey
– Mackenzie McClure
“The opinions of everyone else are irrelevant.
It’s what you think of yourself when
it’s all over and done with that matters.” –
Shea McCowen
“If you don’t want to get caught doing
something wrong, don’t tell anyone about
it.” – Joe McCreery
George McCuen
S.A.M.S
what you want in life and what you want
your outcome of school to be. Don’t let
anyone get in your way or change what you
think and believe.” – Katie McDonald
“Follow your heart. You know yourself
better than anyone else and you will never
be happy where you’re at in life if you rely
on others to get you there. I learned from
the best; thank you, Mom.” – Hannah Mc-
Farlane
“Don’t park in the visitor lot.” – Aaron
McGrean
“Never trust anything Jake Sargent
says.” – Jessica McNeece
John Medlin
through everything and good things will
happen. Always try your hardest and never
give up.” – Madisen Meinders
“You can’t care what people think of
you. There are always going to be people
trying to bring you down but you just
have to do what you want and appreciate
the friends who always stand by your side.
You’ll be much happier if you don’t let people
get to you.” – Kelsey Meiners
“To not care about what other people
get it done on time.” – Josh Mendez
“You can’t always trust everyone.” –
