Hanover Park is home to over 600 businesses from small home based operations to 

Fortune 500 companies. The Village’s business park development offers more than 

4,000,000 sq. ft. Businesses have found Hanover Park to be an attractive and convenient 

location to serve the entire Chicagoland market. The Village’s Community Development 

Department continually works on promoting economic growth. 

These efforts attract new businesses and opportunities to the Village and have improved

Although the Hanover Park settlement began in the 19th century, its community really 

began to grow in the 1950s. A council -manager form of government was adopted in 1971 

to cater the growing community. Residents elect a President/Mayor and six Trustees to 

make policy decisions and provide legislative action. The President and Trustees hire 

a professional Manager to oversee daily operations of the Village and its employees. 

Implementing this system gives the Village of Hanover Park the opportunity to serve its 

residents and businesses with reliable, efficient and fiscally responsible programs and 

services to create a stable community.

Hanover Park is an energetic community with 38,000 plus residents. The Village consists 

of a melting pot of diversity, culture, industries, family -friendly neighborhoods, excellent 

schools and recreational opportunities. As a matter of fact, Hanover Park has the distinction 

of having the youngest residents of any Chicago northwest suburb, with an average age of 

29. Hanover Park began as a settlement back into the 19th century and has been growing

The Village of Hanover Park has access to three park districts: Hanover Park Park 

District, Schaumburg Park District and Bartlett Park District. The Hanover Park Park 

District maintains approximately 180 acres of bike paths and 21 park sites. 

Hanover Park also has thousands of acres of forest preserves in the immediate area that 

provide attractions including bird refuges, natural wildlife areas, horseback and bike trails, 

boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking.

Located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Hanover Park is approximately 17 miles 

from O’Hare International Airport and 30 miles from downtown Chicago. It encompasses 

two counties (Cook and DuPage) and four townships; Wayne, Schaumburg, Hanover and 

Bloomingdale. The village has easy access to the entire Chicago -metro area via Interstates 

90, 290, 88 and the Elgin O’Hare Expressway. In addition, Hanover Park has its own Metra 

Train Station. The Metra commuter train service to Chicago, known as the Milwaukee 

District West Line has proved to have the fastest growth of any west line station.
