the lake Bluff Fire Department is served

by approximately 50 volunteers under

the direction of Fire chief David Graf.

the Department utilizes modern vehicles

and equipment, much of which has been

purchased with funds donated by the

Firefighters association and generous


cooperative arrangements with neighboring

jurisdictions and careful attention to the water

supply system have earned an iso rating

of 3 from the commercial risk service, inc.

all ambulance calls, responded to by the

city of lake Forest, and reports of all other

emergencies should be made using 911.

Building permits are required for all

construction projects to assure compliance

with local codes enforced for the safety of

residents and the protection of property

within the Village. the Village contracts with

the city of lake Forest for plan review and

inspection of specific construction projects.

the Village’s Department of Public works

operates the maintenance facility and

recycling/yard waste drop-off site at 640

rockland road. water and sewer lines, as

well as streets and Village-owned green ways,

are maintained by Public works’ personnel.

sanitation and yard waste collections are

also provided by this department. water is

purchased from clcJawa, which has its

lake michigan water intake, and the Paul

m. neal treatment Facility located within
