Introduction (30 min.):<br />
The trainer should:<br />
N Greet Participants (Px) and introduce<br />
yourself.<br />
N Use <strong>Trainers</strong> Tool 1.1: Options for<br />
Ice Breakers to choose an exercise to<br />
introduce trainers and Px to each<br />
other.<br />
Norms and Housekeeping<br />
(15 min.):<br />
The trainer should:<br />
N Ask Px to brainstorm norms for the<br />
course. These should include times<br />
for breaks and lunch and starting and<br />
ending times. Write a list <strong>of</strong> norms<br />
like respecting others’ opinions, active<br />
participation, etc.<br />
N Divide Px into 5 small groups.<br />
N Assign each group to be responsible<br />
for one day <strong>of</strong> the training. Explain<br />
that on the day they are responsible,<br />
they will be expected to get Px back<br />
from breaks and lunch on time,<br />
collect feedback from Px and meet<br />
with trainers at the end <strong>of</strong> the day to<br />
review progress and make suggestions<br />
for improvement, prepare energizers<br />
for after lunch, conduct the “Where<br />
are We” exercise at the beginning <strong>of</strong><br />
each day, conduct the “Reflections”<br />
exercise at the end <strong>of</strong> the day, and<br />
other responsibilities the group<br />
suggests.
